Chapter 776: I Did All the Evil in My Life
Chapter 776: Chapter 776: I Did All the Evil in My Life
Yu Jingting kicked the trash can as soon as he entered the door.
He was still quite fierce and irritable.
Just looking at this scene, it was enough to scare a timid Suizi.
However, considering the circumstances, the thought of him being surrounded by a group of kids, unable to do anything threatening to her, inside his fierce exterior, there was a certain degree of cuteness.
"You wait for me, tonight!" Yu Jingting saw Suizi still laughing, so he could only deliver a threat without any real intimidation.
"Uh-huh, I’ll get cleaned up and wait for you." Suizi answered without thinking, judging from her familiarity with this phrase, she must have said it a lot before.
"What, flirting?" Yu Jingting stepped forward but before he could pin Suizi down and kiss her a few times, Wang Cuihua’s slipper came flying over.
"Yu Tiegen, can you show a bit of parental responsibility in front of the kid?" Wang Cuihua ordered her grandson to bring her slipper over.
"You should save that for my father."
The price of his insolence was another of Wang Cuihua’s slippers flying his way.
Yu Jingting, double-slapped by his mother’s slippers, still didn’t forget to mouth off.
"I’ve committed all sorts of wrongs in my life, but I shouldn’t need your slipper lecture to teach me right from wrong, that’s what the law is for!"
"The law can deal with rogues, but can it deal with your thick face? If thick-skinned was a crime, you’d get life imprisonment at least, if they don’t sentence you to death, that’s just the party and the people being lenient on you."
"Pfft..." Suizi was made to laugh by the back-and-forth banter between mother and son.
Images of Yu Jingting being beaten up quickly filled her mind, too many to fit into a single grid of nine.
"You, come with me!" Yu Jingting saw her laughing so heartily, which irritated him all the more, then he was kicked in the behind by Wang Cuihua.
"Stop talking to my daughter-in-law rudely! What are you being fierce about?"
"..." Yu Jingting was at a loss for words.
In his mother’s eyes, this daughter-in-law was her true love, while he was just an accident.
"Mom, I have something to discuss with Tiegen, I’ll come and chat with you later." Suizi always spoke in the Dongbei dialect with her mother-in-law, but she switched to Mandarin in a second when talking to others.
These details were not present when she first lost her memory, but now that she had adapted for a few days, Suizi was willingly following her instinct, her intuition was telling her what’s best.
Sure enough, Wang Cuihua nodded in satisfaction and didn’t forget to warn Yu Jingting not to act so fierce to Suizi.
Upon entering the room, Yu Jingting strode over and took Suizi’s favorite lounging chair.
With his legs propped up, he was reading the letter that ignited his rage with a mysterious look.
Suizi obediently poured him a cup of tea, and Yu Jingting started to comment in a mocking tone:
"Remembering the past, you and I loved each other, now look at the present, you married another man--" Yu Jingting felt sick of this, after finishing the main content he expressed his own views, "what kind of garbage is this, it makes no sense and doesn’t rhyme, even my limericks are better than this."
Mocking his love rival, that gets him energized, sitting up and scanning Suizi from head to toe, he was inspired to compose.
"The poem’s quality is subpar at first glance, on closer inspection, the author must be a fool, clad in sackcloth, belted with kelp, self-imagining as a second-generation poetry fairy, in reality, an idiot in need of calcium, unloved by the grandmother, unloved by the uncle, his own mom sells fake flowers on her grave, his dad is out whoring, not home, not home!"
Yu Jingting was very pleased with his masterpiece, rocking in his rocking chair, his surplus of talent had nowhere to go.
Suizi’s mouth twitched, is he even more verbose than when he was a kid?
"I remember Jiaojiao saying that you’ve been studying and furthering your education all these years, is this the result of years of studying?"
Suizi was very surprised when she found out from Jiaojiao that Yu Tiegen was considered a handsome Tsinghua University god by some of the younger nurses in the hospital.
Her first reaction was that Yu Tiegen had likely threatened the family members of the exam grader in order to gain admission to Tsinghua University.
"What’s wrong with my work? It’s utterly clear and easy to understand, any child could comprehend it, surely, it’s far better than this gibberish about trying to seduce someone else’s wife?"
Yu Jingting sniffed the aroma on the letter, holding it disdainfully between two fingers as if it carried a virus.
"So effeminate, this thing gives off a nauseating smell, using it as toilet paper would be unbearable."
Suizi handed him a cup of tea, and Yu Jingting drained it in one gulp, somewhat cooling his anger as he narrowed his eyes at Suizi.
"Aren’t you scared now? Did you remember something?"
"Not everything, but I can feel that your anger was never aimed at me."
So, she quietly became a spectator, even thinking that Yu Tiegen’s antics were rather amusing.
He was fierce, but not entirely unreasonable.
When the fierceness was directed outward, she felt a strange sense of satisfaction standing in his utterly safe zone. It was kind of fun.
"Hmph, my woman is indeed smart, come over here, let me hold you." Despite Suizi’s protests, Yu Jingting forcefully pulled her into his arms and planted a kiss, letting his anger completely dissipate.
"Aren’t you going to continue cursing?" Suizi found listening to his ranting quite entertaining.
"I’ll resume cursing after handling the pressing matters, there’s no rush."
Yu Jingting was not a very tolerant person, under normal circumstances, he would have lost control by now. And Suizi would have had to cajole him, allowing him to take advantage of the situation.
Suizi used to play the role of his military adviser, but since she lost her memory, she became a seventeen-year-old girl. He knew that he had to think more on her behalf.
Yu Jingting held Suizi, making sure she didn’t run away, and closed his eyes to think for a while.
While he was thinking, Suizi half-heartedly sat on his lap, looking at the man lost in thought. He looked so handsome when he was focused...
His profile was well-defined, his eyes closed, less of the youthful defiance but more domineering. When he wasn’t babbling, he exuded a king-like aura.
Suizi never liked boys like Yu Tiegen when she was in school, she would even avoid them.
She preferred gentle scholar types, the ones who would write romantic letters, speak softly, and never raise their voice.
But now, no matter how she looked at Yu Tiegen, she found him agreeable. Suizi couldn’t understand why her tastes had suddenly changed, she only knew one thing now.
When his Adam’s apple moved slightly, the room temperature seemed to rise a few degrees, his subtle expressions causing an infinite ripple in her heart.
When he opened his eyes and met Suizi’s unabashed gaze, Suizi quickly averted her eyes as if guilty, her face flushed with embarrassment. Her heart was already fluttering with excitement, she was afraid he would detect her girlish thoughts, so she quickly changed the subject.
"Who exactly is this person? Why did he send such a letter to me?"
"I’ve never seen such a flirtatious handwriting from a scoundrel like this one sending you letters before. But aren’t you worried that by showing me this letter, I might misunderstand?"
Suizi shook her head.
"My intuition tells me you won’t."
She had a special trust in Jingting. She didn’t understand it initially, but after coming back to this home filled with love and seeing the two adorable children that were testament to her parents’ love, she understood.
"You told me to believe in myself, that as long as I live my ’today’ well, I won’t regret ’yesterday’ and won’t fear ’tomorrow’. I can’t believe that the hardworking me would choose the wrong man. I trust myself, so I trust you."
