Chapter 683 My Husband Even Dares to Bully a Two-Year-Old Child

Chapter 683: Chapter 683 My Husband Even Dares to Bully a Two-Year-Old Child

"Before the last of my value gets used up, my opinions still count. After all, a pig needs to be kept alive until it’s time for the slaughter, doesn’t it?"

Suizi posed this question to the two men, her demeanor calm and her tone certain. To an outsider, she would seem like the kidnapper, rather than these two who could not subdue her.

The two men exchanged a glance and the one in the backseat spoke.

"If this little girl keeps wailing, I might have to shut her up."

"You don’t have the resources to negotiate terms with me." Suizi casually glanced at him, and the man felt a chill run down his spine.

When Suizi managed to stay calm, she resembled Fan Huang, especially when he was working, exuding an aura of quiet authority.

Of course, Fan Huang had earned his authority through trials and tribulations and held a high position. But how old was she?

The man resisted the instinctive fear, pretending to be indifferent. He looked at Suizi, trying to confirm if he was overthinking.

At that gaze, Suizi brought out her full spirit. She knew that the more critical the moment, the more she needed to be stable.

Yu Jingting often said that before a quarrel, regardless of methods, assert your dominance first. If your eyes can silently intimidate your opponent, you have already won half the battle.

When he lived in the village, every dog was afraid of him. Yet, these dogs would chase after Suizi. Animals can sense humans’ fear. Humans were the same. Let your adversaries sense your fear, and it’s like offering your throat for them to slit.

As expected, when the man met Suizi’s eyes, he subconsciously backed down. His voice was a little weary when he spoke next.

"You do seem to resemble Fan Huang a bit-- Are you sure you’re not his biological daughter?"

His question confirmed Suizi’s guess about their identities. She had already figured them out.

Suizi didn’t answer his question, and instead, turned to check on Jiaojiao.

"Sis-in-law, I’m sorry...." Jiaojiao said full of remorse.

If she hadn’t been caught in their car, her sister-in-law wouldn’t have come after her.

"Don’t be scared, it’s ok." Suizi helped Jiaojiao arrange her braids and gently rubbed the child’s scalp. One of the men had yanked Jiaojiao’s braids, and Suizi made a mental note of it.

"I saw them taking away Luoluo’s little elephant after school, so I followed them....."

Jiaojiao was walking home with a classmate when these two men approached her, asking if she was Yu Jiaojiao. When she asked them why they did that, the men showed her a rubber elephant saying they found a little girl who lost it. Thinking about her niece, Jiaojiao followed them into an alley where they forced her into a car.

Jiaojiao was regretful and felt like she had dragged her sister-in-law into this messy situation.

"Never mind, dear. No matter how alert you are, these people, hell-bent on doing evil, would still act."

Suizi comforted Jiaojiao. The child hadn’t been frightened out of her wits, which showed her bravery. Therefore, Suizi couldn’t scold her.

"Hey, don’t paint us as the villains. We are just here because someone wants to meet you. You make it sound like we are kidnappers." The man driving was unhappy about her words and complained.

"If I were you guys. I would be deeply worried whether I should consider grazing sheep or cattle next. Have you heard about Fan Gao? Today, he could be your tomorrow."

Seeing the men silent, Suizi continued: "He’s tending to sheep. And apparently, the conditions are unfavorable. Fortunately for you two, you haven’t harmed my sister-in-law. So I can provide a starter-setup."

"A starter-setup?"

"Yes, the must-haves for sheep-herding, a white turban, sheepskin vest, red belt, black cloth shoes. With these, you can blend perfectly into the harsh conditions outdoors."

Suizi’s words were too vivid, so the men were visibly startled.

Seeing the men’s reactions, Suizi felt more confident.

Now, she had to buy Yu Jingting as much time as possible. Persuading even one of them would be beneficial.

"You two are just carrying out orders, and I don’t want to make it hard for you. Leave yourself some leeway, you can never go wrong doing that. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, don’t bet on single thing. Your backer might not be reliable, but if you don’t make things hard for us, I can certainly put in a good word in front of my father."

"We can’t let you go," the man sitting with Suizi in the backseat hesitated, then said.

Suizi detected room for negotiation in his voice, and she continued to persuade him.

"You don’t need to let us go. Do whatever you need to. My husband is a naive country bumpkin. He gets scared and worried quite easily. If I disappear, he will be anxious. You just need to somehow convey some information about me to him, to reassure him. I will remember your kindness."

"This... " The two men looked troubled.

Jiaojiao looked at Suizi, somewhat puzzled. Her brother... naive?

Suizi gave her a wink. Little white lies were necessary sometimes.

"He is a naive man from the countryside, a bookworm. He is so naive that he got dumb by reading too much. He hasn’t seen much of the world and can’t come up with any tricks. Even a two-year-old child dares to bully him. When the child pees on his neck, he wouldn’t dare retaliate. You guys are afraid of such a naive person?"

"Forget it, sister-in-law, these men who even kidnap kids are not courageous. We should just ignore them," Jiaojiao said.

"Who says we are not courageous? We only fear an honest man from the village? Once we get you to the place, we’ll find him and let him know," the driver fell for her trap.

"I am so grateful for your kindness." Suizi looked down, holding Jiaojiao’s hand, signalling her not to be afraid.

Everything was under control.

She was grateful. These two men were not professional kidnappers and were easy to trick. They didn’t seem to be malicious, probably just forced by their families. They also seemed not to want to offend her family, which made the situation better than she expected.

Jiaojiao was initially anxious. But seeing Suizi so composed made her heart steady. Suizi, always her idol, protected her like a mountain.

The two men spoke no further, while Suizi and Jiaojiao remained quiet. The car continued its journey out of the urban area, heading for the outskirts.

After more than two hours, they arrived at another city. Jiaojiao glimpsed an endless "lake" from the car window.

"That’s the sea. The crabs and shrimps we eat are from the sea. It’s a pity that it’s off-season, the sea water might be a little cold. Otherwise, I could have taken you for a ocean bath."

"In your current situation, are you still in the mood for playing?" The man looked astonished. Did she know what she was doing here at all?

"Why not? The old man just wants to borrow my life force, but he didn’t ask for my death, did he? Regardless of how many days my life is left, there is always time to play with my niece, right?"
