I am chasing a rough man in the 80s -
Chapter 66: Why Should I Forgive You
Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Why Should I Forgive You
"Staying by your brother’s side...makes me... an exceptional person."
Suizi wasn’t wrong with her words. She looked at Yu Jingting with teasing eyes, the corner of her mouth slightly raised
But her hand, was tracing circles in Yu Jingting’s palm.
This provocative gesture made it clear that the insinuation in her words was far from innocent.
Lest there be any misunderstanding, she did mean THAT kind of "exceptional".
Somewhere in Yu Jingting’s mind, something seemed to explode.
He looked at her in disbelief.
She was dead serious about dropping suggestive hints... in front of a kid!
Whenever this woman flirted, she could completely ensnare him.
"Is it time to teach you a lesson?" Yu Jingting’s voice was even lower than usual.
If they weren’t in such a public place, her little lips wouldn’t be safe!
Having the audacity to tease him like this, if he didn’t make her lips swell from kisses, how could he solidify his unshakeable position in the family?
Suizi pretended not to understand his threat. If he actually wanted to "teach her a lesson", he had to wait until the Fetal Qi was steady. Right now, she could play tricks on him by using the baby inside her as a shield.
After being reborn, her goal was to drive the lively man before her crazy with love.
Jiaojiao didn’t understand the TTension between her brother and sister-in-law, so she was still trying to figure out what they were talking about.
"Even if you marry a loafer, does that make you exceptional? We don’t have a bike, not even a good job for you..."
"Jiaojiao, are you asking for trouble?" Yu Jingting threatened. This girl always brought up the most unwelcome topics!
"I’m telling the truth," Jiaojiao murmured softly.
She used to think being a medium was a respectable job, but after wandering around in the city, she discovered there are so many "exceptional people".
"We might not have a bike now, but we might in the future. As long as we work hard, our lives will gradually improve. As for the job—" Suizi’s gaze fell on a woman wearing a red cotton-padded jacket, her lips twitching, "We will have it."
Yuan Youyou, wearing a shoulder bag, irritably adjusted her newly bought red cotton-padded jacket.
It was the latest style of the year, a lot of her colleagues at the Newspaper Agency were wearing it. In order to fit in, she gritted her teeth and splashed out a month’s salary on it.
From the outside, she didn’t seem any different from these people, only she knew the hardship of her life.
She had been working at the Newspaper Agency for a while and was criticised daily by her superiors, who said her writing was unsatisfactory. They constantly compared her with Chen Hansui, saying that Hansui was able to produce acceptable manuscripts when she was a student.
Just yesterday, the supervisor even said that they should not have hired her and should have hired Chen Hansui instead. The situation wouldn’t be so messy if they had.
What they said became a nightmare for Yuan Youyou, and she couldn’t sleep all night.
Yuan Youyou looked up and her face changed drastically.
Across the street stood a tall woman, slightly fat, dressed in a grey suit.
Except for some of the better organizations, most people dressed like her. Walking on the street, everyone looked like "blue ants, grey ants".
But this tall, slightly fat "grey ant" was incredibly beautiful.
Her neck was slender, her jawline was elegant and smooth, her eyes were bright and pure, her features were perfect, and her simple clothing couldn’t hide the mature elegance she exuded.
She was young, but she had the intellect and elegance of a mature woman. She was beautiful without being seductive, charming without being vulgar.
At over 150 pounds, if she could still make people’s eyes fixed on her, it could only be said that Chen Hansui was favored by heaven and naturally beautiful.
Seeing what haunted her dreams suddenly appear, Yuan Youyou turned around in fright, but Suizi called to her.
"Miss Yuan, long time no see."
Yuan Youyou braced herself and turned around, stuttering:
"Miss Chen, why are you here?"
"Can’t I be here? Even if I can’t, the truth should."
Suizi spoke softly, chilling Yuan Youyou to the bone.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about!" Yuan Youyou tried to dodge past Suizi, her eyes shifting, not daring to look at Suizi.
"If you won’t tell me, I’ll ask Sister Li. I’m sure she’d be willing to tell me."
Sister Li was the chief editor of the newspaper agency, Suizi had met her before.
Yuan Youyou came to a halt.
"Chen Hansui, my job was assigned by the school. If you have any complaints, take them to the school, why are you taking it out on me? A forced melon is not sweet, what’s the point of pursuing this?"
Yu Jingting stood behind Suizi with one hand in his pocket, watching. He had promised Suizi not to interfere.
But seeing this big-headed woman’s guilty face, her evasive eyes, and her harsh words, Yu Jingting could hold back no more.
He stepped forward, put his hand on Suizi’s shoulder, and stared fiercely at Yuan Youyou.
"The sweetness of a forced melon doesn’t matter to us. We just want to twist it off." After he said this, he even made a twisting gesture.
Yuan Youyou took a step back, her lips turning pale with fear. This man seemed terrifying, as if he could snap her neck at any moment!
"That melon is ours. Whether we twist it off or not is none of your business. Even if it’s not sweet, we can dip it in sugar, stir it into a salad, or cook it into a soup, it’s our choice!"
"Who is he?"
"He is my husband, a man with a bad temper."
To match Suizi’s words, Yu Jingting kicked a nearby trash can, sending the half-person high trash can tumbling over.
Yuan Youyou let out a shriek.
Suizi made a gesture, inviting her.
"Now, can we chat privately?"
Yuan Youyou saw that some colleagues were looking over and, not wanting to attract attention, nodded hurriedly.
The two of them found a deserted corner where they could talk.
"Chen Hansui, what are you really here for?"
"I know everything."
With just five words, Suizi shattered Yuan Youyou’s forced calm.
"How did I get sick, huh? The duty doctor has confessed, you can’t hide anymore."
This was all speculation by Suizi, and it suited her purpose of intimidating Yuan Youyou perfectly.
Yuan Youyou was now unsteady, leaning against the wall as if she might faint at any moment. Suizi continued to press her.
"If I find Sister Li, will you still keep your job? If you’re fired and your record is stained, will any company want you?"
"Chen Hansui, I beg you! I’ll give you money! Please spare me! Please don’t utterly destroy me! I beg you.."
Yuan Youyou covered her face and cried out.
"My dad has high blood pressure, my mom has heart disease, they can’t stand the shock! I’ve wronged you, I’m willing to compensate you, but you mustn’t ruin me...If you ruin me, you ruin my family too...I beg of you..."
If Suizi hadn’t experienced her past life, she might have been moved by these words and let her off.
Unfortunately, times have changed.
"What makes you think that just because your family is pitiful, I should naturally forgive you?"
Suizi’s soft voice reached Yuan Youyou’s ears, seemingly having traveled through the four seasons, emotionless.
