I am chasing a rough man in the 80s
Chapter 607: The legendary Dragon Saliva Fragrance

Chapter 607: Chapter 607: The legendary Dragon Saliva Fragrance

"Curses, like chickens, come home to roost...."

Chen Ziyao mumbled quietly, turning around and preparing to leave, with his arm around Yu Jingting’s shoulder.

From a distance, his father saw his youngest son coming out of the station with a group of people.

"Stop!" his father called out, "Ziyao, who’s that with you?"

His voice, though not loud, had a lilt that made it hard to ignore.

Suizi’s family turned at the sound.

Up ahead, an older man in a suit with an immaculate stand-up collar was scowling. He was slightly short, wore wire-rimmed glasses, and his face was free of any wrinkles. His eyebrows were furrowed deeply over stern eyes, and his shoes were so well-polished they’d cause a fly to slip.

Wang Cuihua had never seen anyone quite like him before. He seemed overly fussy.

"He’s at risk of heat rash in that getup," Yu Jingting commented to Suizi.

Suizi nodded in agreement.

The man had an air of arrogance about him that made Suizi uncomfortable; he seemed like the type of person she couldn’t become friends with.

Ziyao, spotting his father, had no choice but to turn around with a forced smile.

"Dad, what a coincidence running into you here. Are you also seeing someone off? Oh, this is Suizi, your granddaughter..."

He introduced Suizi to his father, Cuihua heard that this was Suizi’s maternal grandfather and her first reaction was to step forward to greet him. However, she was stopped by Suizi, who tugged on her sleeve and shook her head subtly.

Suizi had absolutely no memory of her grandfather in her previous life.

When her mother was in the village, only her uncles had come to visit.

Sometimes, her grandmother would be mentioned, but not a word about her grandfather.

In this life, Chen Lijun rarely spoke about her father, and when she did, it was usually negative.

Suizi motioned for her mother-in-law to stand down.

Ziyao’s father was now close by, looking Suizi and her family up and down with a derogative expression.

But he was somewhat surprised on the inside.

He had expected a group of country bumpkins in dirty clothes, looking hopelessly out of place in the city.

Instead, it was a family of fine-looking folk, even the two babies were adorable. The men were handsome and the women were elegant. Their clothes were appropriate, there was not the slightest hint of their rural background.

What perturbed Ziyao’s father the most was that, excluding Jiaojiao and the twins, everyone else was taller than him...

Cuihua, who initially wanted to exchange greetings, had now understood why Suizi stopped her. This man was looking down on them!

Chen Zixiao’s feet shuffled awkwardly in his shoes.

His father’s behavior was truly embarrassing and intolerably rude.

"Surely..." Ziyao’s father said quietly with clear contempt, "your mother failed to teach you manners. Do you not bow to your elders?"

"Ha!" Yu Shuisheng laughed.

In this day and age, who bows to their elders? Does he really expect Suizi to kneel and kowtow?

Hearing his father laugh, Yu Jingting, not wanting to be outdone, strode forward looking imposing and intimidating Ziyao’s father.

"What, what are you doing?!" he stammered.

Jingting was wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, exposing his muscled arms. He looked powerful.

Jingting took a hold of Ziyao’s father’s hand and shook it forcefully, asking sincerely, "How long have you had this disease?"

"What disease?" Ziyao’s father looked confused.

Jingting held his hand with one hand and gestured to his face with the other, "Crooked mouth, skewed eyes, nostrils pointing upwards when talking, typical post-stroke syndrome - did anyone try to treat him for it?"

Having lived a sheltered life, this was the first time Ziyao’s father had ever been spoken to like this. He was left speechless, mouth hanging open.

Seeing him with his mouth agape, Jingting exclaimed, hand trembling as he pointed at Ziyao’s father’s mouth.

"Is he about to drool? Suizi, pass me your bowl quickly. Could this be the legendary Dragon Saliva? Catch it quickly! Let this respectable gentleman take it home and refine it!"

"..." Suizi couldn’t help but laugh. Jingting was so sarcastic; she loved it.

Ziyao’s father’s face turned beet-red, while Jingting looked at him sympathetically.

"Do you know what Dragon Saliva is, sir? My wife educated me about it. It’s the secretion from a whale’s intestines. Some of it is vomited out from the mouth and some from the rectum..."

That certainly was a low blow. He was implying that Ziyao’s father’s mouth was an asshole!

"Ridiculous! Impolite! Unruly!" Ziyao’s father was so angry his mustache trembled.

Yu Shuisheng pulled his son aside.

"You say my son has no manners, it seems you must be very well-mannered? Did your father teach you to speak like this, or was it your mother? Ask them to come out and identify themselves"

Ziyao’s father had to crane his neck to meet Shuisheng’s gaze. An overwhelming pressure swept over him and he took a step back instinctively.

"Ziyao, come here!"

"Dad, I have to take Suizi’s family to eat roast duck. My sister has reserved a table. Would you like to join us? I can find you a seat?" Ziyao couldn’t take his eyes off his father, he barely dared to breathe, two words were swimming around his head: So satisfying.

Ziyao’s father’s attempted boasting had failed and he had been dismissed by his own son. Furious, he turned on his heel and stomped off without even saying goodbye.

"Sir, remember to let me have a sniff when your Dragon Saliva is ready. Do come to visit often!" Jingting called out cheerfully, voice loud and clear.

Ziyao’s father tripped over something, quickening his pace to get as far away from this family as he could.

"Ha ha ha!"

Bursts of laughter from Ziyao reached his ears. His father shot him a furious glance over his shoulder, vowing to settle accounts when they got home.

"That was satisfying, so satisfying!" Chen Ziyao wiped tears of laughter from his eyes.

"Was it that funny?" asked Jingting.

Ziyao nodded vigorously.

"In my sister’s words, our dad’s like an ancient, smelly rock submerged deep in some secluded feces-filled pond."

"What does that mean?" Suizi asked, curious.

"He’s an old stubborn fool who’s both useless and hardheaded."

Everyone burst into laughter. Lijun indeed has a lethal tongue when she wants, she’s quite amusing.

"You guys shouldn’t hold it against him. Yes, he’s pretty annoying, but he’s not really a bad person. Apart from looking down on everyone and constantly aggravating people with his tongue, he’s never done anything to hurt others."

His type was usually disliked by most. Although he didn’t harbor ill intentions, his condescending attitude and the contempt he showed everyone ruined his reputation. He spent his life being an annoyance to others.

"Poor things, your three siblings must’ve had it hard." Wang Cuihua looked at Chen Ziyao, her eyes shining with motherly love.

"Eh, we got used to it. The three of us try to stay as far away as possible. My brother even went so far as to set up his family in Dongbei just to avoid coming back. My sister only stayed in Beijing for our sake, regardless of how annoying our father might be, he still needs someone nearby to take care of him."

"Don’t worry, now that we’re here, my mother-in-law can finally get some rest."

Chen Ziyao paused for a moment, considering Jingting’s resolve, it was safe to say they had secured their place in Beijing.

His mother-in-law would definitely be able to rest, but whether his father would drop dead from annoyance was yet to be seen.
