Suizi took out a small bottle from her pocket. Such items were always carried around, now that there was a child at home.

"God gave you a son, not as an excuse for you to hit women." Yu Jingting let go of Shen’s father’s arm.

Shen’s father felt his wrist burning painfully. He grimaced in pain. Were Yu Jingting’s hands really just hands? They felt more like pincers!

"Can’t you heat up the cold lamb soup again? Off you go; you’re so tall, you’re blocking the sunlight." Suizi was annoyed; she hadn’t finished applying the ointment yet.

"Well, now you’re complaining about my height blocking the sunlight? When you were too lazy to walk, moaning for me to carry you, you didn’t complain about my height. If I was as short as Wu Dalang, you’d be running faster than a rabbit, wouldn’t you?"

Yu Jingting silently mouthed two words. As Suizi turned her head, he immediately flashed her a smile, putting on the air of an innocent man.

Shen Liangyin’s eyes widened in surprise. She saw it!

This was shocking, Shen Liangyin didn’t expect Suizi and her husband to behave like this privately.

Jiaojiao saw Suizi pull Shen Liangyin, she gasped and grabbed her aunt’s hand.

Shen Liangyin, in Jiaojiao’s mind, was comparable to the heinous colonel character from the Anti-Yueben country TV drama series she watched. They were equally detestable.

Seeing Suizi boldly inviting this enemy in, Jiaojiao clutched her master protectively with one hand while grabbing a pepper shaker with the other.

"Put down the pepper shaker! What are you doing with it?" Suizi dragged Shen Liangyin onto a chair and continued with applying the ointment.

"Sister-in-law, I’ll protect you!" Jiaojiao glared at Shen Liangyin, prepared to assault her with a blinding face-full of pepper if she dared harm her sister-in-law.

It was a good plan, but the poorly made pepper shaker lid accidentally came off, spraying half a bottle of pepper onto Jiaojiao’s face. Thankfully, it didn’t get into her eyes, but it was irritating enough to make her start tearing up quickly.

"Achoo! Ah, I’m blind!" Jiaojiao sneezed, her tears streaming down.

Yu Jingting hurriedly helped his sister clean her face while Suizi directed him to take her to wash herself up.

A while later, Jiaojiao returned with a cleaned face but red eyes. The first thing she said was:

"The cost of helping others sure is high..."

"Is there anyone who wants to adopt this clumsy girl? I’ll even give a subsidy of five dollars." Seeing his sister was fine, Yu Jingting was back in a joking mood and tried to peddle her to their aunt, "Why don’t you take her home?"
