I am chasing a rough man in the 80s -
Chapter 568: Some People Die Because They Talk Too Much
Chapter 568: Chapter 568: Some People Die Because They Talk Too Much
Under everyone’s anticipation, Yu Shuisheng put down his glass and said nonchalantly:
"Everything you just mentioned, I refuse them all."
"What?!" The elder Yu was so shocked that she spewed bits of food from her mouth.
Wang Cuihua, startled, quickly moved her grandchildren’s bowls away. Disease enters by the mouth!
"If you refuse, I would die right here, don’t stop me!" The elder Yu’s face was twisted, tightly clutching the chicken leg she had gnawed at.
"We have a rope on our tractor, a well in the Courtyard, and a kitchen knife in the kitchen. Which one would you prefer, Granny? Let me assist you?" Yu Jingting sneered.
He was all too familiar with this scene.
Throughout his life, the old lady had always been a nuisance.
When Yu Jingting was young, the elder Yu would lead his two elder brothers to create havoc at home. Yu Jingting couldn’t fight back and had to endure their mother berating him in front of them.
Although he later retaliated by secretly urinating in his brothers’ soy sauce vats, resentment still lingered.
As he grew older and became the strongest of them, the elder Yu resorted to moral blackmail.
Whenever things didn’t go her way, she would wail, throw tantrums, and threaten suicide, always accompanied by the never-changing phrase—
"You’re unfilial! Unfilial people deserve the wrath of Heaven!"
The elder Yu lay down on the kang bed and began to spin clockwise.
The two Little Luobos looked on, their eyes wide with shock. They’d never witnessed a scene like this before.
Luoluo even quietly lay down, seemingly wanting to mimic the spinning action.
Suizi quickly lifted her up and whispered, "We mustn’t copy this, okay?"
Yu Jingting’s laughter seemed particularly sarcastic in this scene.
"Elder Yu, you’ve been using this technique for decades. Aren’t you tired? Because we’re definitely tired of watching."
"Terrible! My grandson wouldn’t call me granny! You’re all unfilial!" The elder Yu kept spinning. When she reached a pair of black socks, she looked up.
She met Yu Ding’s gaze.
"My poor sister-in-law, what has become of you?" Yu Ding had mixed feelings.
Unsolicitedly, he saw that the elder Yu rolling around on the kang bed was actually quite similar to his over-40-years-old son who still lived off his parents.>/p>
However, his good-for-nothing son Yu Shuilin would sit on the ground his legs kicking on the floor and refuse to stand up if they didn’t pay him.
"Who are you?" The elder Yu struggled to sit up, temporarily suspending her old shrew performance art.
"It’s me, Yu Ding. Don’t you remember?"
"Oh, it’s you." The elder Yu paused slightly.
This long-lost sense of shame was finally awakened after encountering someone she knew.
The elder Yu cleared her throat.
"What are you doing here? You took our gold coins, have you come to repay them?"
The mention of gold coins made Suizi start looking obediently around the house, remarking on how well-maintained the house was, and how clean the windows were.
Hearing the elder Yu mention money, Yu Ding helplessly said:
"Sister-in-law, only second brother would care about that amount of money. I won’t touch it."
Lowering her gaze, Suizi silently translated his words: If I want money, I’ll go dig up graves myself. I don’t need your share.
She believed what Yu Ding said was the truth. After all, the amount stored in the jar was, ahem, really not that much. She had seen it herself.
"I don’t care. It’s you who took our money! Shuigou, hit him for me! Unless he pays us back today, he’s not allowed to leave this house!"
Elder Yu, driven mad by poverty, was barking at everyone, launching indiscriminate attacks.
Yu Shuigou took a step forward, only to freeze when Yu Shuisheng coughed once. He was too scared to move any further.
Human beings, like animals, instinctively cower in front of stronger ones, always minimizing their presence.
"He’s my guest. It’s not your place to start a fight in my home." Yu Shuisheng glanced at Yu Shuigou and the others; he didn’t pay any attention to these nuisances.
Under Yu Shuisheng’s powerful pressure, Yu Shuigou retreated a step.
Seeing Yu Shuisheng hampering her wealth-pursuing path again, the elder Yu wailed loudly again, beating her thigh.
"Yu Shuisheng, you ungrateful wretch! Your father will be fuming in his grave if he sees how unfilial you are!"
"Oh, why not take advantage of the Tomb-sweeping Day and bring my dad to the ancestral tomb for resurrection? Having another elder at home would be a felicity for us too~" Yu Jingting chimed in.
The elder Yu was at a loss for words, repeatedly spouting her mantra about being stricken by Heaven for being unfilial.
Wang Cuihua looked at Yu Shuisheng quizzically. For some reason, it felt as if her husband was planning something.
This was a hunch unique to a couple deeply connected with each other, one that was hard to put into words.
"All these years I was away, why did you bully Huahua?" Yu Shuisheng asked.
"What bully? She’s promiscuous, and goes around seducing men. I—Ahhh!"
Before the elder Yu could finish her lies, she was frightened by a flying bowl.
Yu Shuisheng threw a bowl over, which flew past the top of the elder Yu’s head. If he aimed just slightly lower, the elder Yu would’ve had her head busted open.
"Have you no respect for your mother? How dare you attack her?" Yu Shuigou mustered himself to speak up, trembling with fear.
"She’s your mother. That doesn’t mean she’s mine," Yu Shuisheng replied.
Suizi covered her mouth, surprised at the turn of events. Yu Jingting lifted a hand to squeeze hers, signaling her to stay calm during this show.
Yu Shuisheng said to the elder Yu:
"You’ve always been biased, and I’ve never complained. When Huahua was pregnant with Jiaojiao, you forced me to dig a river for my second brother. I was always the one to shoulder dangerous tasks, while the blessings fell to your two sons. Have I ever argued with you about this? But you crossed a line when you took advantage of my absence to abuse Huahua, to slander her, to taint her with your filthy accusations."
Yu Shuisheng’s words resounded loudly, leaving a mark in everyone’s ears, and clarifying to those unfamiliar with the family dynamics his aversion for the elder Yu.
Listening to this made Suizi uncomfortable. Looking at Yu Tieshan who was still lying there pretending to be dead, thinking about how he and his father had lived a worry-free life and enjoyed endless wealth and affection, while her father-in-law had faced life-threatening challenges and was burdened with this family of blood-suckers.
All these misplaced lives were caused by the swap of the two children.
If Yu Shuisheng hadn’t been adopted, her Jingting wouldn’t have ended up fighting in the streets at such a young age.
As a bystander, Suizi already felt upset hearing Yu Shuisheng say these things. Yet, the elder Yu remained unmoved.
"What’s the point of saying this? I’m old, she’s young, you’re supposed to respect me! Disrespect me and Heaven will strike you dead! If you don’t take me back and let Wang Cuihua serve me, I won’t let you off!"
"You want Huahua to serve you? Not a chance." Yu Shuisheng lightly tapped on the table, using his calm yet deadly words, "When you’re gone, we might come to visit if we’re in the mood or just have someone deliver some paper money for you."
Even Suizi felt a provocation hidden within these words. Was he trying to rile up the elder Yu on purpose?
As expected, the elder Yu bit the bait, yelling at the top of her lungs:
"Yu Shuisheng, you damned illegitimate child! We should have drowned you back then!"
"Sister-in-law, what are you talking about? Isn’t he your biological son?" Yu Ding questioned.
"Biological my ass! He’s the one that old man brought back from outside. Who knows whose bastard child he is!"
