I am chasing a rough man in the 80s
Chapter 564: Breaking the Game is Just That Simple

Chapter 564: Chapter 564: Breaking the Game is Just That Simple

Yu Jingting glanced at her disdainfully.

"You want me to hit an old man? He is so frail I could knock him over with just a finger."

He enjoys fighting, but he isn’t a pushover. He doesn’t fight anybody, especially those who are weak and brittle. Yu Jingting preferred to avoid these types.

While the couple was whispering to each other, the white-bearded old man had already rushed over. Without a glance at Shuisheng, he ran straight to Yu Tieshan, who was kneeling on the ground, and gave him a whack with his walking stick.

"Ah! Grandpa, why are you hitting me?"

"I’m hitting you because you are worthless, get up!"

The old man’s voice boomed like thunder, his fit of temper vented on the father and son duo with his cane.

"Let’s go." Yu Shuisheng, dragging his onlooking son along, casually broke off a small twig from a tree and put it in his mouth.

"Eh!" Luoluo looked curious and reached out her hand for a twig as well.

Yu Shuisheng, afraid that she might put some dirty things into her mouth, plucked an apricot blossom from the tree, blew the snow off it and put it on Luoluo’s little pigtail.

Luoluo touched the flower and giggled happily.

"Want one too?" Yu Shuisheng also plucked a flower and attached it to Bobo’s ear.

Bobo’s tiny hand swatted it away disdainfully, causing everyone to laugh at his adorable action.

As if nothing happened, the family prepared to leave. Only Wang Cuihua kept glancing back at Yu Ding and his grandsons, her face full of dilemma.

Looking at her mother-in-law’s expression, Suizi could guess what she was thinking.

Wang Cuihua was probably contemplating whether she should say hello to them since they were relatives after all.

"Stop!" Yu Ding shouted after he had finished schooling his spoiled progeny, halting Yu Jingting and his family in their tracks.

"What now, you want to trade blows with my dad?" Yu Jingting lazily stepped forward, pointing at the two figures on the ground, "They provoked us first."

"You are also of the Yu family?" Yu Ding’s old eyes scanned Shuisheng and his son, finally settling on Shuisheng with a trace of surprise.

This man, he looked quite similar to his younger self.

"If I wasn’t a Yu, why would I come here to burn paper money?" Yu Jingting answered for his father.

"You are descendants of Yu Yi?"

Yu Yi, father to Yu Shuigou and in name, grandfather to Jingting.

"Right, you are my husband’s uncle, aren’t you?" Wang Cuihua interrupted, at this point, there was no point in hiding.

In such a small village, word of anything would spread quickly. It was better to admit openly, it was a matter of etiquette after all.

"Yu Yi is my own younger brother, I am the fourth brother, Yu Ding." Yu Ding’s gaze was still unable to leave Shuisheng.

He had just encountered him once, but felt a strange familiarity, like seeing a reflection of his younger self, especially commanding and brave while fighting, a far cry from his own cowardly and bullying offsprings.

But he couldn’t understand, how could someone as spineless as Yu Yi have such an outstanding descendant? Just like he couldn’t comprehend why he ended up with a wastrel son like Yu Shuilin and a dissatisfactory grandson like Tieshan, no matter how much he tried to teach them, all was in vain.

"So, the old man is here. What a coincidence, haha."

Seeing that the men in her family were keeping silent and Suizi, who was usually witty, didn’t utter a word either, Wang Cuihua felt something was off. She tried to lighten the mood but it turned awkward instead.

"Dad, why are you even talking with them, look at what he did to me! These distant relatives should be made to pay!" With his dad there, Yu Shuilin regained his confidence. He stood up with his legs clamped together, grimacing in pain.

The harmony from just a moment ago was gone, tension overcoming the atmosphere once more. Both parties confronted each other, making Suizi anxious.

This was a tough situation to navigate.

It wasn’t that they couldn’t win the fight, but considering the other party’s status, it was difficult to raise a hand.

But if they didn’t retaliate, it would be hard to resolve the current mess.

Just as Suizi was racking her brain to find a solution, an opportunity presented itself.

"Grandpa!" The pronunciation of Bobo was clear, shouting towards Yu Ding.

Yu Ding was surprised, looking around, confirming that he was the only one in that direction.

"Are you calling me?" Yu Ding, in disbelief, pointed at himself.

"Hug!" Bobo stretched out his hand towards Yu Ding. Luoluo, standing next to him, was equally excited, her bright eyes fixed on Yu Ding.

With this expression, the Suizi family was all too familiar.

In Suizi’s words, these two kids were like treasure detectors.

Whoever received their proactive friendliness, definitely had something special about them, be it a great scholar, powerful official, or a local wealthy man like Du Zhong. If the children wanted a hug, then it signified that the person was extraordinary and likeable.

The moment Yu Ding was spotted by these adorable kids, his brain seemed to short circuit. Without thinking, his body moved.

When he came to his senses, he found an adorable child in his arms.

Another one was enthusiastically waving at him, as if telling him he was next in queue for a hug~

Suizi glanced at Yu Jingting, who raised an eyebrow, gesturing towards the two "traitor" children.

"What’s this?"

Suizi shrugged, the actions of kids, surely they weren’t within adults’ control. Her children deemed the old man approachable, what could she do about it?

Bobo tugged at Yu Ding’s beard, which made him roar with laughter.

He himself had a great-grandson, but he didn’t quite like him.

Jin Wa, also known as Yu Caifu, was rude to others, but would tremble in fear in front of his great-grandfather. Sometimes, when he wanted to hug him, the boy would run away crying. Jin Wa would purposely avoid him, which made the old man quite disheartened and he wasn’t very close to him.

But this child in his arms was different.

Not even the slightest hint of being uncomfortable.

Not only did he tug at his beard, but he also laughed and dared to look him in the eyes. When Yu Ding looked into those clear eyes, it felt as if something deep within his soul has been tugged at.

"Ah!" Seeing that she has been overtaken by Bobo again, Luoluo waved her tiny arms in desperation, almost falling out of Suizi’s arms.

Suizi had no choice but to carry her over as well. The little girl, quick as a monkey, dived straight into the old man’s arms.

"You two, be careful not to crush the old man, one of you should come down!" Suizi’s words fell on deaf ears. The two children, one pulling his beard and the other hugging his neck, showed no signs of letting go.

"It’s alright, my body is still quite sturdy. I can handle carrying two kids. Who are they?" Yu Ding’s face was filled with laughter, his eyes crinkling.

Yu Shuilin and his father were left completely baffled on the side.

They wondered, ’Your son got beaten to a pulp and you are just going to abandon him and cozy up with someone else’s kids?’

"These are my twins, the elder sister is Luoluo and the younger brother is Bobo, say hello to Grandpa!"

At Suizi’s command, the two children who were busy clinging to Yu Ding, called out to him in their babyish voices. The old man was utterly enchanted. He thought, ’how could children be so adorable?’
