I am chasing a rough man in the 80s
Chapter 467: Maidens Should be Raised Wealthily

Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Maidens Should be Raised Wealthily

From the moment Yu Jingting appeared, the atmosphere in the room gradually changed.

From a tense, murderous standoff to all of a sudden, a room full of pink bubbles.

"Younger brother Jingting, what are you doing here?" asked Jin Qu, her swollen eyes brimming with flirtatious glances towards Yu Jingting.

Suizi was still enjoying the spectacles, but Wang Cuihua was not having any of it.

She abruptly leaped in front of her son, blocking this terrifying sight from him.

"He’s my son, she’s my daughter-in-law, and I’m his mother! Quit addressing him as your younger brother, we don’t know you well!"

Upon hearing from Wang Cuihua that Suizi was her daughter-in-law, Jin Qu glared at her, shooting daggers with her eyes.

"Isn’t your daughter-in-law a teacher? Why is she a dog official now?"

"Dog...dog official?" Suizi was taken aback by this newly-introduced derogatory term. Has this older lady been listening to too many storytelling shows?

Was her insignificant role as a director deserving of such a "noble" title?

"Who are you calling a dog? You’re the one who looks like a Pekingese! My daughter-in-law is a director as well as a teacher. But I’m afraid she wouldn’t be able to teach the likes of you."

Yu Jingting reprimanded angrily.

"Why can’t she teach me?" Jin Qu asked doggedly, gazing at him.

"You’re mentally ill!" Not caring about Jin Qu’s offended facial expression, Yu Jingting nonchalantly caressed Suizi’s face.

"Did she scare you?"

Suizi shook her head.

She wasn’t scared but enjoyed the dramatic performance, it was indeed entertaining.

When the Li family left, Wang Cuihua started blaming Yu Jingting.

"What sort of nonsense have you been attracting out there?!"

Yu Jingting felt more wronged than the tragic character Dou E.

"She was the one coming to me, how is that my fault? If I got bitten by a dog while walking on the street, would that be my fault too?!"

He believed he was the true victim.

"Stay away from her in the future. Women like her are bad news, attracted to the wrong things, like erratic rogues. If you cut down your jianghu mannerisms, she’ll stop coming to you."

From her observations over the years, Wang Cuihua could read people at a glance.

There was a small group of women who, in Wang Cuihua’s eyes, had a penchant to bring trouble on themselves.

They weren’t satisfied with decent, steady men, rather preferring the bad boys who lived by the rule of the underworld, even though it meant being sold to dark alleys, or prostituting themselves to support these useless men.

Jin Qu was undoubtedly one of these women, her previous partner Ma Guocai, was a notorious local bully.

After Ma Guocai was arrested, Jin Qu took a fancy to Yu Jingting, who she thought had a strong jianghu aura and could be a promising leader.

Being fancied by Jin Qu didn’t flatter Yu Jingting in the slightest. In fact, he felt somewhat insulted.

All Suizi could think of was Yu Jingting’s incredible popularity among women, which ranged from wealthy heiresses to street misfits.

Everyone, including Suizi, the educated intellectual, found themselves drawn to his unique charm.

Suizi, however, was satisfied with Yu Jingting’s attitude. He was loyal to his relationships and extremely self-confident, different from the perverted men who collected different types of women like postage stamps.

Wang Cuihua’s strict education might have something to do with this. She had warned him numerous times about stepping out of line, threatening to castrate him.

Suizi simply considered Jin Qu’s actions as a joke and quickly dismissed it.

She went to work, took care of the child, and tutored her younger sister-in-law as if nothing happened.

Suizi took it lightly, but Wang Cuihua couldn’t.

She sought Suizi twice discretely, asking if she’d taken advantage of the situation to get back at Yu Jingting. Suizi simply blinked in surprise. She wouldn’t do such a thing, it wasn’t her style.

Wang Cuihua thought Suizi was reluctant to confront Yu Jingting, so she decided to roll up her sleeves herself and deal with him.

Yu Jingting’s beer factory had been especially busy these past few days, as they had collaborated with the Ice Cream Factory on two new beverages that were currently being promoted.

Shen Liangyin had shown great sincerity, providing Yu Jingting with a good amount of resources. These days, Yu Jingting had been constantly on the move, immediately falling asleep as soon as he hits the pillow after returning home.

One day, Suizi went to night school to substitute a class for another teacher. Seeing her daughter-in-law heading out, Wang Cuihua pulled out a flashlight and gave an eerily sinister grin.

Yu Jingting had gone to bed early in the West Room, while Yu Shuisheng was splitting his time between playing games with the two grandchildren and listening to his daughter practice the piano.

He suddenly got a fright when he turned around.

Wang Cuihua was holding the flashlight up toward her face.

"Ai Ma, what are you doing? Can’t remember what this is called, can you, Maiden?" asked Yu Shuisheng to Jiaojiao.

Jiaojiao turned around on her piano stool, glanced at her mom’s pose, and slapped her forehead.

"The ghost woman from the horror movie we watched yesterday! Mom, if you let your hair hang over your face, you would look even more like her!"

Wang Cuihua switched off her flashlight and smacked her daughter on the head.

"When did you start watching horror films? Are those suitable for you to watch?"

Jiaojiao stuck out her tongue and turned around, pretending to study hard.

Yu Shuisheng cleared his throat and kept busy.

His ear was then quickly grabbed by Wang Cuihua, twisting hard!

"You scoundrel! I told you to take our daughter to the movies, and you end up taking her to see a horror film?! Hasn’t Suizi told you not to expose Jiaojiao to unhealthy films and books?"

"We didn’t have a choice. We hopped the fence and just went to watch whichever movie was playing at that time....."

"You took the child to sneak into the movie theater without paying for tickets!!!" Wang Cuihua twisted his ear even harder.

"Jiaojiao suggested it. She envied her classmates whose fathers would sneak them into the movies, so I just gave her the chance to experience that."

Yu Shuisheng moped indignantly.

We are not poor, but we should indulge our child’s simple pleasures.

Movie tickets cost just a few cents. For families that were just above the poverty line, this was an unnecessary expense. Many people just sneaked in to watch the movie without purchasing tickets.

"No more sneaking into movie theaters. Look at your age and you are still following these young people’s habits. You will strain your back one day!"

Hearing this, Wang Cuihua pick up her flashlight and headed straight for the West Room.

Having dodged a bullet, Jiaojiao stuck out her tongue at Yu Shuisheng who winked at her, lowered his voice and said:

"Your dad will take you hunting wild chickens in the forest this weekend."

"Mom won’t allow it," Jiaojiao whispered.

"What your mom says doesn’t count, if dad says it’s fine, it’s fine!" Yu Shuisheng had just finished when he felt a murderous intent behind him.

Wang Cuihua was standing behind him with the flashlight illuminating her face, looking like a ghost.

"What’s this about hunting wild chickens? Concentrate on your studies!" Yu Shuisheng quickly started lecturing his daughter, while Jiaojiao squinted her eyes, realizing the jig was up.

"Daughter-in-law, I am educating our daughter here, you go do your thing! Leave us alone."

Yu Shuisheng wore a playful grin and framed his daughter, trying to play the good guy.

Wang Cuihua snorted, turned around, and walked off, a faint smirk appearing at the corner of her mouth.

"Dad, you are blatantly lying," Jiaojiao whispered.

"This is called being crafty, you wouldn’t understand! As a maiden, you must experience and see things. Don’t let some poor boy fool you with a roast chicken later!" Yu Shuisheng changed his tone faster than flipping a book.

His daughter ought to be spoiled, but as for sons... let it be.

Yu Shuisheng looked toward the West Room. Wang Cuihua had already taken her flashlight and entered the room. A minute later, Yu Jingting’s terrified scream could be heard from inside.

"Ah!!!"

Yu Shuisheng sympathized with his son for a second, then continued discussing the secret hunting plan for next week with his daughter.
