Chapter 203: Chapter 203 Are you stupid or not?
Before Yu Jingting abruptly raised his voice, he traced his hand on Suizi’s palm.
If he scared his own people, that wouldn’t be good.
Fan Hua was caught off guard and turned a shade paler, his eyes wide in surprise as he looked towards him.
"Don’t mention that woman in front of my wife again!" Yu Jingting stepped forward, grabbed Fan Hua’s collar, his veins popping.
"Le-let’s talk this out..." Fan Hua panicked under his intimidating presence.
"If you are friends with Chen Lijun, then you are an enemy of my family!"
Suizi found Yu Jingting’s behavior very unusual.
He’s usually respectful towards his mother, constantly referring to her as my mother-in-law.
Suizi was unaware that Professor Sun had gone to the construction site alone to find Jingting, so she thought that he had come to an understanding of the same realization as her.
She was amazed at how quickly her man was reacting.
Going all in, Yu Jingting had terrified Fan Hua within seconds.
"Chen Lijun disregarded my wife’s background, threw her out in the countryside, and didn’t care. You dare to mention her to me?!"
"I, I, we actually aren’t close..."
"So you dare claim to be friends with her?! I’ll hit you just for that!" Yu Jingting clenched his fists, aiming at Fan Hua’s face.
"Don’t— ah!"
A scream echoed as Fan Hua was hit, clutching his face.
The Principal and Wang Mengmeng were debating, and hearing the commotion outside, they came out just in time to see Yu Jingting hitting Fan Hua.
"Oh my god!" The Principal was so shocked that her legs gave out and she fell into a sitting position.
Suizi also gasped.
Oh wow, was this show of temper normal?!
"I will beat you to death now, for being connected to her in such a way!" Yu Jingting tried to recall an idiom.
"Birds of a feather!" Suizi filled in, impressing herself.
"Right, birds of a feather! Beating you is the same as hitting Chen Lijun, I’ll beat you to death!" Yu Jingting moved as if to punch again.
"Stop, stop, I don’t know her well! Actually, that woman didn’t treat my family well either, I’m also a victim!" Fan Hua was stupefied by the assault.
"Are you saying this just to avoid getting hit?" Yu Jingting tried to trick him into speaking.
"No, everything I’ve said is the truth, I swear to God! She deceived my cousin’s feelings back in the day, my cousin went crazy because of her!"
"Then why did you lie to my wife, saying you were friends? What’s your motive?"
"I, I was asking for my cousin- I gotta go for today! Seriously, I don’t know her well!"
Fan Hua got up and ran, nearly losing his shoes in the process, terrified that Jingting would chase him and hit him again.
"Chenchen, what’s all this—"
The Principal couldn’t quite rise from the floor, she couldn’t comprehend the sudden turn of events.
Yu Jingting, still in character, turned and menacingly asked the Principal:
"Are you close with her too?!"
"Not at all!" The Principal jumped up and ran into the office, promptly locking the door from the inside.
Suizi praised Jingting a thousand times in her heart.
To those who didn’t know him, they might find his actions reckless.
But only those who truly knew him would understand that each blow was calculated.
He was the sage living the simplest and most beautiful life, his plain and unadorned attitude towards life formed into those powerful punches. Each strike to the wicked was a satisfying drumbeat to her soul, causing her own blood to boil...
Yu Jingting smirked, mocking. How dare the likes of Fan Hua try to weasel information out of his wife?
"Jingting, what’s going on?" Suizi asked.
"Nothing much, I just found out some things about his family, they’re not decent people. The reason his son is mentally handicapped, is likely due to karma from all their wrongdoings."
As Jingting pretended to adjust Suizi’s collar, his hand brushed her cheeks.
"Ah? Come to my office and tell me about it." Suizi was very curious about this.
Although Yu Jingting’s mother was a spiritual medium, he didn’t seem to believe in karma. To hear him mentioning "retribution", Fan Hua must have done something really heinous.
"I have work this afternoon, I’ll tell you when we get home." He leaned in to whisper in her ear, "In bed, under the covers."
Wang Mengmeng leaned against the door, watching Yu Jingting and Suizi flirting. She almost lost the taste for the sunflower seeds in her mouth.
When Suizi approached carrying walnut cakes, Wang Mengmeng’s eyes widened.
"Director Chen, what delicious treats did your brother-in-law bring?"
"Walnut cakes."
"Wow, such a big bag, you can’t finish it alone, right?"
"I’ll finish it over a few days." Suizi replied calmly, successful ignoring Wang Mengmeng’s disgruntled face.
"Stingy." Wang Mengmeng grumbled quietly once Suizi had left.
"Yue’e, come to my office for a bit, and bring next week’s teaching schedule for the teachers." Suizi called Zhang Yue’e to her office.
Wang Mengmeng waited a while, but Zhang Yue’e didn’t return.
She picked up her cup, pouring the remaining water into the flower pot. Then, pretending to refill her cup, she deliberately walked past Suizi’s office.
Continually sneaking glances inside, she was enraged by the sight. Zhang Yue’e was sitting across from Suizi, enjoying a walnut cake.
"Ugh! Choke on it, hogging all the food to yourselves!" Wang Mengmeng cursed under her breath, her fingers turning white as she clenched her mug.
In the office, Suizi poured a glass of water for Zhang Yue’e, asking:
"Feeling better?"
"Thank you, much better."
Suizi didn’t intentionally exclude Wang Mengmeng, but while discussing work, Zhang Yue’e suddenly felt dizzy.
Seeing her symptoms seem like low blood sugar, Suizi offered her a piece of walnut cake.
"Yue’e, what’s going on with you recently? You look so pale, are you facing any troubles?"
"Actually, it’s nothing..." Zhang Yue’e bit her lip.
She’d been surviving on steamed buns for the past three days, and her low blood sugar was simply due to hunger.
"Are you hiding something?" Suizi was worried her peculiar birth mother had come to cause trouble again.
"Well—Suizi, I, I have a ’friend’ who lent someone money and they won’t pay back... what should my, she do?"
"Oh, you have a ’friend?’"
"Err, yeah."
"How much was lent out?" Suizi asked.
Zhang Yue’e raised her hand, making the gesture for three.
"Three dollars?"
"Thir-thirty."
"What was the reason?"
"She said her mother was sick and needed the money urgently, said she would pay me back in a few days... it’s been a week and she hasn’t mentioned it, what, what should my friend do?"
Seeing Zhang Yue’e stuttering, and recalling her almost fainting from low blood sugar, Suizi basically understood the situation.
"What’s the person’s relation to you?"
"A coworker— err, I mean, my friend, not me." Zhang Yue’e’s explanation only incriminated her more.
"Oh, Wang Mengmeng borrowed the money?"
Zhang Yue’e looked shocked. She looked at Suizi with the expression of a startled rabbit, as if to ask: How did you know?
Suizi sighed.
"Are you stupid?"
