"You even praised him at the time, saying Dongdong was a good young man," her husband reminded her. The couple looked at each other, feeling the weight of the favors they had received.

"Let’s forget about it. Every generation has its own issues. Let our brother hammer him; that’s enough. We won’t go home tonight either. Let’s check into a theme room at the five-star hotel we own. I heard there’s a Ferrari presidential suite where you can stargaze."

Although Jiaojiao now felt Dongdong was truly sly, starting his bribing campaign so early, after all, she had accepted the watch, and her husband had accepted the antique teapot. How could they possibly have the face to go back?

"And what about brother?" the little meatball hadn’t forgotten that her twin brother was still at the uncle’s house.

The red Ferrari turned around, and the bought-off family decided to stay out of Dongdong and Yu Jingting’s war.

Jiaojiao, still on the road, made a call to Suizi.

The call was quickly connected, and a soft and gentle female voice answered, "Hello?"

"Sister-in-law! It’s like Mars has collided with Earth!" Jiaojiao was always utterly uninhibited with Suizi, just like a big kid.

On the other end was Suizi’s light laughter, mixed with the sounds of the airport announcements.

"Sister-in-law, you’re back?" Jiaojiao could tell from the background noise that her sister-in-law was at Capital City Airport.

"With Mars colliding with Earth, how could I not come back?" Suizi’s voice was filled with laughter, and Jiaojiao sensed she might have been aware of the situation beforehand, a spark of realization flashing through her mind.

"Sister-in-law, you haven’t been bought off by Dongdong too, have you?" Jiaojiao wondered. Why else would she return just when Dongdong was confronting Yu Jingting, if not before or later?

"Bought off? Not exactly," Suizi fondled the keys in her hand, her eyes curving into a smile.

"But he has been filial, connecting me with someone that granted one of my wishes."
