I Am Also An Extraordinary Creature -
Chapter 875 - 633: Plan B
Chapter 875: Chapter 633: Plan B
In the world of magic, Zheng Yichen had already encountered enemies like True Gods. The Great World was far more formidable than the world of magic, so how could there not be even stronger existences? The impact that erupted from Du Gang’s side reached Zheng Yichen, even affecting the distant artillery fire.
Zheng Yichen saw a golden streak of light fall from the sky, crashing into the ground far away, leaving a crater no less impressive than one made by a fireball.
"..." Zheng Yichen took a breath. It seemed that the strategy of Time Stealing was futile. He and Du Gang had planned to act separately at first, then, after dividing a portion of the Boundary Breaking Organization’s combat power, immediately pull him back using the Apocalypse Stone Ring.
In this way, the divided combat forces wouldn’t be able to arrive in time.
But Du Gang hadn’t gone far before he was suppressed; dividing the enemy’s combat power obviously wasn’t working.
Zheng Yichen pulled a long face as he stared at the interceptors in the distance. There were a vast number of Boundary Breakers, but more than ninety percent of them were mere cannon fodder.
His single attack could eliminate a group; the role of these Boundary Breakers was to deplete his strength. As for bloodsucking... well, you needed an opportunity for that. Group combat required efficiency; it was currently impossible for Zheng Yichen to engage in close combat, and ranged attacks didn’t allow for bloodsucking.
This wasn’t like a game where he could naturally come equipped with a bloodsucking spell, much as Zheng Yichen wished he could, but it wasn’t possible.
Soul plundering had its issues too. These cannon fodder soldiers had some kind of protection, their souls safeguarded and whisked away by a stronger force.
Unless he was very close, Zheng Yichen’s fishing rod couldn’t snatch away their souls—unless he unleashed the Death God Domain.
Du Gang had been intercepted, so it was about time for him, too, right?
Zheng Yichen’s perception was fully open, and he quickly captured several formidable presences, immediately consuming the accumulated Oath Power.
His current Oath was God-slaying. After killing a True God in the world of magic, his Oath Power had accumulated significantly. Unleashing it now in the Great World, the explosion of Oath Power combined with Zheng Yichen’s attack took the enemy hiding in plain sight by surprise, exposing him.
The opponent was quick to react, but faced with Zheng Yichen’s suddenly intensified attack, the hastily deployed defenses were shattered, and half the body was torn apart; the gushing blood was absorbed by the black spear.
The Boundary Breaker, with part of his body blown off, twitched slightly at the corner of his eyes. He hadn’t died from it but felt his weakness.
His blasted body quickly regenerated, and the Boundary Breaker drew several blood spikes with his hand. These blood spikes, like a spider web, rapidly spread, covering the area where Zheng Yichen was.
He was also a Blood type ability user, dispatched here specifically to counter Zheng Yichen. It’s just that he had been preempted by Zheng Yichen’s strike. The exploded body did not affect him much, but the blood drawn away did have some impact.
He could sense the shift in Zheng Yichen after the latter’s successful hit.
Blood absorption that immediately digested and gained the ability’s traits without distinction? Did such Blood type strength exist? Now he had seen it.
He even wanted to plunder away Zheng Yichen’s Blood type ability, as Blood type ability users could mutually plunder each other’s powers.
Leaving aside the thoughts of this Blood type ability user, in Zheng Yichen’s perception, the opponent had suffered no severe injury from the hit with his expended Oath Power. He possessed Life type abilities, and coupling Life Power with Blood Perception, it gave him an almost ’Blood Bar display’ effect in terms of perception.
The damage the strike had done to this Boundary Breaker... probably depleted about one-tenth of his Life Power.
The consumed Oath Power was used more for breaking defenses. The opponent’s protective measures had produced a thick layer of blood-colored shield, with many pieces of armor taking effect as well—all were destroyed under Zheng Yichen’s explosive attack.
He was an enemy that could be dealt with given some time, but... he didn’t have that time.
A barrage of attacks came from afar, with more than ninety percent being ignored by the aura surrounding Zheng Yichen. Of the remaining attacks, some pierced through the aura created by Burst Mode but were then blocked by the cat spirit cloak.
What intrigued Zheng Yichen was that these people’s attacks seemed to share a unique liveliness; so many attacks mixed together without any interference, and during that wave of attacks, the Blood type ability-using Boundary Breaker was also within the attack range.
The opponent was unaffected as well.
The attacks, upon contacting him, slid off like water.
"What is this tactic?" Zheng Yichen was curious about this situation. He had just gained new ability traits from bloodsucking, not only strengthening his Blood Perception but also enhancing his Blood Plundering Strengthening, as well as acquiring a new trait. However, he had no time to slowly ponder what the new trait was.
He only felt that this new strength was related to Life Power, seeming to be a suppressive power related to life, yet since the Boundary Breaker had very few exchanges with him, the corresponding effect had not yet shown.
Moreover, this ability was obtained through bloodsucking, which meant the opponent had the same power.
The surrounding blood-colored network began to constrict. The spider-web-like blood network emitted a dangerous aura; every strand of blood was like a razor blade.
The attack from Zheng Yichen had momentarily broken it, but it quickly recovered to normal.
The shrinking blood network altered its form under the control of the Boundary Breaker, turning into something reminiscent of a domain.
The Boundary Breaker in front of him wasn’t a True God, yet the domain created by this blood network posed a greater threat than a Divine Domain. Inside such an environment, Zheng Yichen could feel a minor agitation in his blood, which, upon contact with the blood threads, would break them, but something would start to coil around him.
That would specifically be... a reduction in resistances.
Although each reduction wasn’t significant, as they accumulated, the isolating power of his aura wasn’t as formidable anymore.
Besides this Boundary Breaker, there were a few others who hadn’t made their move, observing him closely; their threat to Zheng Yichen was much more substantial than the God Descenders he had encountered before.
The last time Zheng Yichen had focused on such beings when a Boundary Breaker forcefully broke through, the latter hadn’t appeared until the gateway had closed.
Now he had encountered several.
The Blood type Boundary Breaker he had struck appeared the weakest among them. Zheng Yichen had chosen this opponent hoping he could capture one directly, but the power displayed by such a being clearly wasn’t so easily overcome.
The Great World had existed for a long time, and the environment here was sufficiently powerful; it would be troubling if the powerful beings here could be easily defeated by him.
Another shock wave came from afar, and Zheng Yichen sensed that Du Gang’s life force had weakened considerably. The problems Du Gang faced were no simpler than his own.
Thinking so, Zheng Yichen sent a message, instructing his ally not to take the brunt of the attacks any longer and to prepare to use Plan B.
Continuing the fight wasn’t impossible, but it was too passive. It was quite irrational to keep on battling when the enemy was well-prepared.
"Plan B..." Du Gang, who had been smashed underground, stared at several figures in space, knowing he could take any one of them on.
While a victory might not be easy, defeat wasn’t certain either. However, once their numbers increased, Du Gang found himself being pummeled one-sidedly.
Had his Vajra Body not been sturdy, he would have already been killed.
Heaving a sigh, Du Gang lifted the surrounding earth and hurled it skyward; the chunks of terrain, like meteorites, smashed toward those figures in the sky before an even greater force shattered them.
Roaring, Du Gang unleashed an energy blast with the momentum that didn’t wane even after shattering the earth, only to be knocked back by the subsequent attack.
He felt pain in his Vajra Body, which was not a good sign. Pain meant his defenses were close to being breached; once his Vajra Body was broken, attacks that couldn’t threaten him before would become lethal.
An impeccable Vajra Body and a flawed Vajra Body were of entirely different levels of strength.
No longer hesitating, Du Gang immediately commenced Plan B.
He was not weak and could ensure his own entry after opening the internal space portal.
"Heh, heh, heh, just as I thought," laughed one of the assailants watching Du Gang vanish. They had noticed Zheng Yichen’s and Du Gang’s plans when the two Proxy Agents split up.
It was either a ploy to divert their attention or something else. As a veteran Proxy Agent, Du Gang, with a record in the Great World, had many lives to spare. Killing him would be futile; the best way was to seal him.
However that was useless because Dusk would still assign him respective missions. If Du Gang was ever late, Dusk would punish him, which entailed a comprehensive "erasure" that no seal could withstand.
But, because Proxy Agents had lives to spare, such erasure would turn into a transfer, beyond the Great World’s interference.
For Proxy Agents with spare lives, this erasure is more like a unique protection, ensuring that they are not permanently restricted to one place by some external factors, alive but as good as dead.
Yet, the advantage of sealing him was the opportunity to study a Proxy Agent for a while. Since he couldn’t be detained indefinitely, any means could be employed during the study.
Dusk’s spare lives didn’t come with mental protection, meaning all the torture during that time could cause irrefutable mental damage to the Proxy Agent. If his spirit shattered and he died, triggering the spare life, Dusk would only restore his mental state.
But the accumulated shadows wouldn’t vanish. If managed well, these Proxy Agents could go mad, which was also a gain for the Great World. A mad Proxy Agent wouldn’t be highly efficient, and if they tended towards self-destruction, it was very easy to trigger catastrophic events.
Then, the Great World wouldn’t need to target them; Dusk would erase them first.
But sealing a Proxy Agent was not easy; experienced ones wouldn’t be captured readily.
