Chapter 637: Chapter 472: Do I Need to Write a Report for My Job Description?_1

Alice didn’t know what kind of mood Zheng Yichen was in now, but she thought, if Zheng Yichen got annoyed by this matter, all those involved in denouncing and those idle media that had nothing better to do would be met with a bloody purge.

From some internal news, it was apparent that Zheng Yichen had been acting very abnormally these past few days, at least compared with the ’Chang Qing’ she had encountered before; his methods were too ruthless, and he couldn’t tolerate the slightest problem, as if he were suffering from a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

In the piles of corpses that were cleaned up, those that had arms and legs with missing bodies, generally were the ones killed by Zheng Yichen.

Several days later, the survivors in the city, upon seeing such corpses, their first thought was that the owners of these remaining limbs had deserved their deaths.

A ’justified’ slaughter restored a sense of order from the lingering fear in the city. The anxiety of the survivors also settled down with this ’justified killing’. In these extraordinary times, extraordinary measures were taken; everyone knew that crimes committed in this city of destruction would be immediately punished, and the death would be a terrible one.

The ordinary people might be afraid at first, but after adapting, what they felt was a sense of security.

Under such circumstances, all the organization work went smoothly to an unbelievable extent. When Alice arrived here, the entire city had returned to order, with a great many survivors cooperatively engaged in related relocation works.

Putting aside the subsequent arrangements for the moment, at the very least, people had to first leave this ruined city. Its environment had already reached a state of ’total death’, and staying here brought no benefits to the living’s health.

"...What right do I have to be angry?" Rebecca said after a moment of silence, her tone bitter. It was only after coming into contact with Dusk that she realized just how serious some problems were. The Great Evil God was a disaster native to this world, while the Black Moon that emerged during the Evil God calamity was an even greater disaster.

No matter how much the Great Evil God messed things up, it could only plunge the native world into chaos and disorder, but the Black Moon was a source of world-breaking unleashed by the Boundary Breaker, which, once formed could lead to the shattering of a world’s boundaries, and the entire world would be swallowed by another.

In the process, even more people would die, far more than just a city being destroyed.

What right did she, a human who could do nothing, have to be angry or to question or doubt Zheng Yichen’s abilities?

"The real ones who need to be punished are those Boundary Breakers and Evil Spirits..."

"Let’s go, we should finish the work first. Your daily life won’t be much easier after this," Alice said, and just as her voice fell, an explosion sounded in the distance.

Rebecca looked puzzledly in that direction: "Is that where he’s been staying?"

The location where Zheng Yichen was, was not hard to make out; it was one of the highest remaining buildings of Kreich.

"Yeah." Alice, realizing something, shook her head. She sighed and looked back toward the God of Rebellion, a sight that could be seen from anywhere in Kreich. The God of Rebellion had now become very powerful, and she too felt some of its influence.

But the influence wasn’t bad; it was as if the titles given to her by those Evil Spirits had turned out to be true. If she closed her eyes and sensed carefully, she could feel a particular source of power, which was like a vast ocean.

She was like a native living on the seashore, capable of taking water from the sea at will. As long as she had enough physical strength, she could completely use a bucket to scoop water from the sea all day, but she was limited to using a bucket to scoop the water.

If she encountered those Evil Spirit groups now, she would be able to easily annihilate all of them all by herself!

Analyzing why she had such a unique connection with the God of Rebellion, Alice speculated that the reason for such a connection could be due to ’homogeneity’. She had been half-human, half-Evil Spirit initially, and had done a lot of research and learning to return to normal.

Although all those studies had been failures from start to end, back then she was reclusive but did not choose to fall into the Evil Path.

The God of Rebellion, on the other hand, was the flip side of the Great Evil God. After she came into contact with the initial God of Rebellion, her nature flipped as well, sharing that homogeneity with the God of Rebellion – though the difference in their levels was vast.

The difference between a toy universe spaceship and the real universe spaceship, but... these two at least shared something in common.

Looking in the direction where the God of Rebellion opened his eyes to gaze, Alice turned around for a glance and could faintly make out a distorted trail gradually vanishing into the horizon.

"Our mission just lost one."

"What happened?" Rebecca couldn’t see what was farther away and was still confused.

"That person has left, probably to report back."

Huh? Rebecca was startled for a moment and couldn’t help but look around at the surroundings. The ruins wouldn’t restore themselves just because she paid attention to them. Instead, some of the reporters at the scene saw them and wanted to come over for interviews but were intercepted by patrolling soldiers.

She withdrew her gaze and couldn’t help saying, "Report back? Does he have to write a report after returning?"

The city’s ruin was the result of the battle between the Proxy Agent and the Great Evil God; the God of Rebellion seemed to only play a supporting role in that fight. However, in the end, an exorcist did notice the God of Rebellion’s influence over the Great Evil God, which allowed Zheng Yichen to deliver a strike that blasted the Great Evil God apart.

That particular strike left a strong residual trace to this day; where the Great Evil God was obliterated, there lay an abyss so deep it was bottomless. Anyone with faltering will who approached it would be beset by illusions, either terrified by incredibly frightful sights or descending into madness, fighting some invisible enemy.

The closer one got to the center of the abyss, the stronger the influence felt.

The thought that this mighty being had to report back and write about it was almost comically absurd to Rebecca.

This was just too ridiculous.

"Er, maybe?" Alice wasn’t too sure herself, but what Rebecca said seemed somewhat possible? It shouldn’t be possible, right?

Afterwards, on their way, her thoughts were led astray by Rebecca and she kept pondering this matter until they approached the God of Rebellion. Nearby, the Sinkhole Demon Abyss, carved out by Zheng Yichen’s blade, was on one side, while on the other stood the towering, exquisitely shaped God of Rebellion, whose appearance could conjure up images of beauty and splendor.

What was this all about? The God of Rebellion, opposed to the Great Evil God on the home front, and ’Demon Gods’ from the alien world had teamed up to overthrow the source of chaos and evil, the Great Evil God of their own world?

Looking now at the refined and beautiful appearance of the God of Rebellion, one could only hope that no writer would twist this into some sort of melodramatic love story...

With these thoughts, Alice, accompanied by an uneasy Rebecca, continued forward. They did not encounter the ’air wall’ mentioned in the reports and easily arrived at the feet of the God of Rebellion, who was now of an immense stature.

At that moment, Alice was also somewhat uneasy. What ’thoughts’ did the God of Rebellion before them have? As the adversary of the Great Evil God, what would He bring to this world?

Soon, Alice and Rebecca’s eyes widened in astonishment.

The God of Rebellion didn’t speak, but they understood the information that was conveyed to them, an extremely unique and efficient form of communication. In a very short time, Alice and Rebecca grasped the message the God of Rebellion was sending.

Order emerges from chaos, and absolute order only leads to new chaos. He wouldn’t bring direct impact to the creatures of this world but would influence the world’s environment to lean towards orderly stability. In this environment, order would exist but chaos wouldn’t entirely vanish.

It was just that things wouldn’t be like before, where Mental Aberration creatures or Evil Spirits would arise so casually.

Alice, being of the same ’origin’ as Him, could use His power as long as she was on the side of order.

Rebecca... She was just brought along by Alice, not receiving any additional information. Even so, her expression was hard to maintain, "This doesn’t sound like the ’God of Rebellion’ the Evil Spirits talk about; he’s clearly the God of World Order."
