Having received the new items, Zheng Yichen didn’t linger and returned to Alice’s place, where Rebecca seemed to be getting along well with her, although now Rebecca looked very haggard and worn out.

"Did you mistreat her? How did she end up like this?"

"I might be a bit morbid, but I don’t make a habit of abusing people," Alice glanced at Zheng Yichen. "She was supposed to look like this; you should have noticed."

The girl looked weak but was actually quite healthy.

"...I might need another two days," Alice said, looking at her palms. She could feel the changes in her body, but these changes were not permanent. She needed more influence to completely reverse her condition.

Even though this reversal would mean that instead of being close to an Evil Spirit, she would become another kind of half-human creature, which to others would probably be akin to a sick person, not a moving corpse.

Previously, the Evil Spirits had taken many Mental Aberration creatures with them when they fled.

Under the influence of the bait, the Mental Aberration creatures broke free from the control of the Evil Spirits and began to converge towards Zheng Yichen en masse. The sight was enough to impose a bit of pressure on him.
