Moving anomalies were different from the normal ones, and the invaders had emerged from within. Following the appearance of the Sky Pillar, they planned to cast the moving anomaly into space, letting it self-destruct.

Back then, they lacked sufficient intelligence. Later on, once they had more information, they were already locked down by the Firmament Wheel. Now that they had recovered, the old plans were being restarted.

This time, however, they didn’t plan on tossing the moving anomaly into outer space but instead aimed to eradicate it completely, in coordination with the Proxy Agent.

Due to environmental imbalances, the devices they prepared were still under repair. Most of that machinery was intact, but some parts were thoroughly damaged—not by enemy action, but due to a lack of energy that led to internal component failure without constraints.

It was like certain delicate instruments that shouldn’t lose power or leak. Once a leak or power loss occurred, it was as good as totally damaged.

Their engineers were working overtime to fix those machines. Even so, it would take a considerable amount of time. Thankfully, the Proxy Agent was capable enough, and so far, not many extraordinary creatures had escaped from the moving anomaly.

Yet, their world’s native powerhouses and some detection devices had identified a new problem—the space around the moving anomaly was becoming increasingly unstable.

This instability was causing great mental strain on those native powerhouses who specialized in mental power. Normal spatial instabilities were one thing, as a shattered space would just mean a piece was broken off. However, the instability surrounding the moving anomaly was a ’resonance.’

The tremors caused by this resonance, once unleashed, would lead to large-scale chain reactions, creating a sense of World Destruction in the minds of those capable of psychic sensing upon detecting it.

Although the information they had suggested that it wouldn’t lead to World Destruction, their world would undoubtedly be torn apart and swallowed into another Great World. The resulting shocks would cause the death of countless native creatures...

Alright, even though the imbalance in the environment had already caused too many native creatures to be sacrificed, the presence of the Firmament Wheel meant that a good number of the human race had survived. Still, a conservative estimate suggested that the tremors would kill over seventy percent of the survivors.

The Firmament Wheel would not be able to protect against that.

"Phew—phew—what a hassle." Inside the moving anomaly, Zheng Yichen released a sigh after eliminating the nearby extraordinary creatures and looked around at the dense heat sources.

He retrieved the Hellfire, ignited it over his head, and let the shockwave disperse in all directions, eradicating all the bug-like creatures that approached like a tide. But he wasn’t given much time to rest before the bugs re-congregated.

Zheng Yichen was speechless, tossing a dark red sugar pill into his mouth. With a click of his tongue, some of the raw material reserves were depleted. The Universal Toolbox refined nutrient substances no longer had any sweetness, but there were still some spices left. Zheng Yichen could have cumin, pepper, or chili flavor.

Just no more sweetness.

"Looks like I need to kill a few enemies..." Zheng Yichen frowned. He had more efficient ways to deal with these bugs. A single swoop of the wind feather-enhanced Wind Blade could slice through a massive number of bugs.

Even giant bugs a hundred meters in size could be cleaved in two by the Wind Blades Zheng Yichen unleashed.

But such killing was basically ineffective. The nutrients spilled from the dead bugs would be reclaimed by the Flesh carpet, and the bodies decomposed and absorbed, only to be turned into new bugs. The Boundary Breakers wouldn’t stop draining the land’s Life Force just because he tried to protect the environment, which would only lead to more bugs being produced.

"Boss, the frequency of the bugs’ appearance has decreased," Lilith’s projection spoke.

"By how much?" Zheng Yichen’s eyes widened as he looked around at the environment. He wanted to pick out the enemy he was aiming to deal with from the dense heat sources, but there was no shortage of humanoid bugs, which made his search more difficult.
