Chapter 513: Chapter 394: Bombarding Each Other_1
```
A frenzied bombardment... Zheng Yichen witnessed the tragic scene over there, and his heart twitched with distress. Luckily, he had deceived the Firmament Wheel’s cannon fire not long ago. Without that trick up his sleeve, who knows how much worse it would have been.
Yet, he felt a bit of regret. If that kind of bombardment had been concentrated on the Sky Pillar, wouldn’t it have been able to shatter it? After all, the cannon fire was powered by the Sky Pillar’s energy, and energy of the same level would surely be effective against the Sky Pillar itself.
But he had no way to get through the bombing zone. The fishing rod had acquired spatial attributes, yet these spatial attributes did not allow Zheng Yichen to open more flexible space doors. The Gate of Death he could create was akin to half-random teleportation.
"Proxy Agents are indeed monsters!"
Edelson stared at the swiftly moving light dots on the map. The Firmament Wheel had completely collapsed, but some surveillance equipment in this base had been dispatched; this equipment compensated for the monitoring void left by the collapse of the Firmament Wheel.
The reason red dots appeared on the map was that a layer of spatial distortion around Zheng Yichen as he moved was interfering with both the normal and abnormal surveillance.
Edelson furrowed his brows tightly. He found it hard to imagine how Zheng Yichen had survived in the bombing zone—that was bombardment infused with Sky Pillar’s energy, and just like Zheng Yichen had thought, the intensity of that bombardment was enough to directly shatter the Sky Pillar.
But the fact that Zheng Yichen had survived was outrageous!
Unable to figure it out, Edelson simply stopped thinking about it. He reined in his own forces. After Zheng Yichen had broken through the blockade, he charged directly toward the Sky Pillar. It would suffice to wait for him there, although only a few of their side could directly utilize the Sky Pillar’s energy.
However, using the Sky Pillar’s energy for protection was their side’s standard technology, as long as one was close enough to the Sky Pillar.
"How on earth did he survive???"
Edelson rapidly relayed the situation here to the headquarters through the Sky Pillar. What to do next was up to the decision of the headquarters. As for the idea of simply killing a Proxy Agent with a massive output, that disappeared as soon as Zheng Yichen reappeared.
If such a super-high-density bombardment couldn’t kill him, how could they possibly eliminate this Proxy Agent merely with their output?
"Hurry, set up the formation!" Below the Sky Pillar, some Devourers hastily arranged some unknown magical formations. Relying on individuals to use the Sky Pillar’s energy was fraught with difficulty, as direct contact tended to lead to assimilation by the Sky Pillar’s energy into crystals. But humans can use tools.
The ’magic arrays’ they were laying out now could directly harness the Sky Pillar’s energy for attacks—just avoid coming into direct contact with it. The magic arrays essentially served as artillery.
After everything was prepared, the Devourers waited in strict formation, eyeing the direction of Zheng Yichen. The moment Zheng Yichen’s figure appeared, numerous magical arrays materialized near the Sky Pillar, and beams of light burst forth from these arrays towards Zheng Yichen.
The scale was large, yet it seemed sparse compared to the salvo of fire from the damaged Firmament Wheel.
Of course, the threat of these attacks was still considerable. Pure Sky Pillar energy bombing, when hitting the ground, created explosions indistinguishable from normal energy impacts. However, the quality of these explosions was exceptionally high.
The explosive shockwaves also carried lingering Sky Pillar energy, which made even Zheng Yichen, who wasn’t directly hit, feel extremely uncomfortable.
So, Zheng Yichen took out his gun, holding a heavy sniper rifle in one hand. This rifle could still be used eight times. Should he randomly choose eight lucky enemies?
No... he chose the eight most conspicuous targets in his thermal vision!
Bang—
"Maintain this rhythm, trap him in the bombing zone! See how he survives this time!!" A Devourer, his expression ferocious, stared at Zheng Yichen, who was moving quickly within the bombing area. Because the density of the bombardment wasn’t as high as that of the Firmament Wheel, they could track Zheng Yichen’s movements.
However, the distortion around Zheng Yichen still prevented a clear view of his condition. But seeing Zheng Yichen’s awkward attempts to dodge the attacks, he knew the other would definitely not withstand the bombardment produced by the scattering of Sky Pillar’s energy!
A pale streak of light arrived in a flash, and the Devourer’s eyes widened. He reached out to grab the streak of light, and the moment his hand caught it, the ferocity on his face twisted into contortions. The spatial distortion created by the bullet caused his fingers to bend grotesquely, and the sound of bones breaking could be heard from one of his fingers.
```
The bullet flew out from his tightly clenched palm, and just as it was about to hit the chest, a pale layer of light emerged, distorting the space around the bullet as it came to a halt in front of his chest. It then shattered into crystalline fragments, and the Devourer, as if hammered, spewed out blood mixed with pieces of inner organs.
His palm was twisted like a twisted dough stick.
"Why can he use Sky Pillar’s energy??" Aside from rage, the heavily injured Devourer felt bewildered. He was protected by energy from the Sky Pillar, which meant he could ignore most attacks, even those with spatial distortions.
That was the reason he dared to try and catch the bullet. But to his surprise, the bullet was also imbued with Sky Pillar’s energy!
The combination of Sky Pillar’s energy and spatial distortion was deadly; had the bullet’s energy been stronger, that shot could have killed him instantly!
"Eh? Only killed one." Zheng Yichen looked at the eight figures locked in his thermal vision. Of the eight brightest heat sources he targeted, only one changed, showing the heat source’s center blast into a large hole, scattering into many smaller sources.
The other seven heat sources were intact; the feedback from the heat sources indicated some were injured and spitting blood, or parts of their bodies were gushing blood.
"Guns are not so useful in high-end battles." He discarded his sniper rifle, which hadn’t yet hit the ground when it was shattered by the surrounding shockwaves.
He then pulled out a fishing rod, which flared up with a ghostly green flame. The sky consequently filled with a vast expanse of gloomy fire clouds.
"How is it possible?" Baylock, still shocked that Zheng Yichen’s bullet contained Sky Pillar’s energy, looked astonished. The coverage of the fire clouds was immense. Such large-scale effects weren’t uncommon in this world, as local powerhouses could achieve them.
But this was an environment shaped by the Sky Pillar, where any environmental influence should be absorbed by the vacuum and couldn’t possibly have such extensive impact. Yet now, an unimaginable expanse of fire clouds appeared.
He even felt the energy of the Sky Pillar in the fire clouds, but it seemed slightly different from the energy they’d encountered emanating from the Sky Pillar.
A multitude of fire meteors burst forth from the fire clouds, smashing towards them. Some meteors collided with the magic array formation’s dispersed Sky Pillar’s energy in violent explosions. It seemed the meteors couldn’t penetrate the energy, but some Devourers were directly killed by the meteor strikes.
The Devourers that were killed had been protected by Sky Pillar’s energy, but the meteors also bore it. The impact weakened the protection upon hitting a Devourer, and the ghost-green flames left behind turned the hit Devourers into torches.
A portion of the scattered Sky Pillar’s energy had to be redirected to fend off the meteors.
Baylock’s deformed palm crackled as he forcefully twisted it back into place. He reached for a column of light streaming down from the Sky Pillar behind him, and his arm underwent a crystalline transformation.
He roared and swung at the sky, scattering the maintained fire clouds with a punch, and sweeping away the falling fire meteors. Baylock looked at his injured arm after releasing this punch; the limb had turned a ghastly pale, appearing dead.
Sky Pillar’s energy is not so easily borne; he could withstand some of it with his physical condition, channeling it into his own attacks, but not without cost. The previous punch intended to explode the fire clouds was powered with a hefty amount of Sky Pillar’s energy, rendering his arm temporarily useless.
Baylock glared at the figure that had skirted the bombardment zone and popped a medicinal pill into his mouth. His pale arm rapidly regained its color. He descended from the sky and charged directly at Zheng Yichen, his punch blasting the earth in front of Zheng Yichen’s path.
The upturned earth that obscured Zheng Yichen’s path was then shattered by a sweeping beam of light, and two pillars infused with Sky Pillar’s energy sealed his potential routes left and right.
Facing this blockade, Zheng Yichen swung his fishing rod, slicing through the lifted earth. The motorcycle raced through the cut gap, but the ground above was swiftly blown to pieces by fresh light cannons, exposing his trail once again.
A figure flickering with white light blocked his path. A heavy punch smashed towards Zheng Yichen, who erupted with a blood-colored Qi membrane. His fishing rod quickly covered itself with a layer of black material, and the blood-colored dragon shadow that emerged collided with the incoming punch head-on.
The surrounding dirt was instantly swept clean.
The clash resulted in a vacuum zone, halting Zheng Yichen, while Baylock, blocking his way, was sent flying back in shock, his punching arm now ragged like a torn towel, its broken bones and torn muscles squeezed out of the wound.
Under the assistance of Sky Pillar’s energy, he still lost in a head-on clash with Zheng Yichen??
