I Am Also An Extraordinary Creature
Chapter 123 - 118: Ghost Encounter Again_3

Chapter 123: Chapter 118: Ghost Encounter Again_3

Without a doubt, he found nothing.

"What the hell..." Zheng Yichen scratched his head. Being asked to fight was no problem for him, but treating people was really too difficult.

After waiting for some more time, Zheng Yichen confirmed that these people were not going to wake up, or at least not anytime soon.

Then why were the dogs, the lion, and the cat fine?

Looking at the two obedient dogs beside him with suspicion, Zheng Yichen rubbed their heads and then took them back into the Alien Phenomenon Zone, deciding to look for them later. It was more dangerous outside and as for the four unconscious people, it wasn’t good to leave them out in the wilderness either.

After bringing them back into the Alien Phenomenon Zone, Zheng Yichen continued searching. He found many other living creatures in different places; similarly, animals could mostly wake up, but people just wouldn’t recover.

This was utterly baffling... Wait a second.

An idea suddenly struck Zheng Yichen. None of these unconscious people had any brain damage, yet they were akin to people in a vegetative state. Could it be possible that their spirits or souls were influenced by something?

"I remember how Katrina’s Blessing Magic is used, and then there’s Eileena’s necromantic skills." Zheng Yichen held a crayon he had found in the Alien Phenomenon Zone and drew a pattern on the ground. After several attempts, he nodded to himself, confident he hadn’t made a mistake with the magic array formation of the Blessing Magic.

However, he didn’t know magic, and the thing he drew was good for nothing. When Katrina drew it, it was a functioning spell; when he drew it, it was just a complicated pattern. Currently, there wasn’t a magic array formation that would simply work by being drawn out like that... Right?

Thinking this, he tried anyway, bringing Hellfire close to the Blessing Magic’s magic array formation. Then, the steady Hellfire flames showed a slight deflection, making Zheng Yichen raise his eyebrows in surprise. It actually worked?

Even though the effect was very weak.

"Is this the advantage of a high-level environment? Even a copycat drawing holds some power."

If just drawing a pattern could carry some special power, then in a higher environment in the future, could merely saying the name of a powerful being elicit a response? He placed an unconscious person inside a newly drawn magic array formation.

This magic array formation was huge, with a radius of over one meter. After putting the person inside it, Zheng Yichen watched the person lying on it for a while, feeling as if this resembled some evil sacrificial ritual.

It seemed to be a failure.

Zheng Yichen wasn’t discouraged; he changed to a different magic array formation, this one being Eileena’s necromantic skill.

"...I’m such an idiot."

As he looked at the unresponsive magic array formation, Zheng Yichen stood up despondently. He then widened his eyes, witnessing a weak shadow emerge on the ground. Looking up, his eye twitched involuntarily; there was a translucent creature floating in the sky like a jellyfish.

A thin tentacle from the creature gently stretched down, skimmed over the necromantic skill’s magic array formation Zheng Yichen had drawn, and then he saw an extremely faint silhouette being lifted away. This humanoid silhouette was also in an ’unconscious’ state.

Without any resistance, the silhouette was stuffed into the mouth of the massive ’jellyfish’ and crunched up as if it were a snack.

Afterward, the jellyfish-like creature began to fade, and before it completely disappeared, Zheng Yichen saw several thin tentacles fall from the sky and wrap toward him.

Without hesitation, Zheng Yichen swung his fishing rod. The fishing rod extended to two and a half meters and was covered with a black material; the black spear lit up with a ghastly green flame, and he swung the long spear, scattering copious flames all around.

The dispersed flames shot outwards; some continued unabated towards the distance, while others caught on the air and burned.

As the ghastly green flames continued to burn, the invisible tentacles resurfaced.

Zheng Yichen glared at the sky, spinning the long spear. Hellfire swirled upwards towards the sky, followed by an oppressive weight pressing down. The Hellfire that flew out fell from the sky, stirring on the ground, but under Zheng Yichen’s control, it didn’t escape from the surface of the ground.

In response, Zheng Yichen tried a different method. An amethyst came to hand, its color quickly fading. His hand, holding the gemstone, accumulated surging electricity which spread into the sky. The passing current revealed the jellyfish-like translucent creature again.

After reappearing, the creature’s color turned from pure translucent to a faint red.

It seemed to be angry?

"This is just ridiculous." Zheng Yichen was perplexed as to why he hadn’t seen this creature at the beginning. He had encountered Evil Spirits before, having seen them in Hazy City’s intense environment; it was impossible not to notice such Spiritual Bodies in an even higher environment.

This mystery remained unanswered. The enraged ’jellyfish’ dropped more tentacles as its form faded under the power of the lightning, but Zheng Yichen noticed some signs of damage on the jellyfish’s surface.

It seemed the creature wasn’t very resistant to energy.

The jellyfish’s oppressive force was able to restrain Hellfire, but it couldn’t suppress Zheng Yichen, whose physique was strong. The pressure somewhat affected his speed, but he was still able to move freely. Wielding his black spear, it made contact with the falling invisible tentacles, igniting them upon touching before he directly reached out to grab one.

His hand grasped only air.

Physical immunity?

Immediately, he switched tactics. A ’Burst Mode’ energy membrane expanded from his battle suit; this time, he felt he had caught something substantial. After grabbing the tentacle, Zheng Yichen violently wrapped it around the black spear and forcefully pulled down, causing the pressure above to suddenly intensify. A faint red shadow flickered above him.
