Chapter 1139: Chapter 825: Return to the Chaos Furnace
Chaos Furnace.
Zheng Yichen, who had returned here, felt a tinge of emotion. Previously, he considered this place a mere trash bin, but now he needed its unique properties to conduct a completely new simulation experiment.
Without any hesitation, riding his motorcycle, he leaped directly into the Chaos Furnace. As slight ripples spread out at the edge of the area, everything returned to calm once again.
"Boss, we can begin the cultivation."
"Then let’s start." Zheng Yichen surveyed the environment of the Chaos Furnace, planting the black spear into the ground. This time, he refrained from releasing his Asura Battle Intent to provoke the chaos creatures here.
He had already gained Chaos power. Killing more chaos creatures wouldn’t grant him any additional enhancement.
The Virtual Genesis encapsulated part of the chaotic space within the Chaos Furnace, expanding into a virtual world that resembled a red-hot metal sphere, directly boiling the interior of the Chaos Furnace.
Amid this boiling, the chaos creatures inside the Chaos Furnace reacted as though provoked, howling and charging toward the area where the virtual world unfolded.
When they reached that area, the chaotic rampage within them unexpectedly calmed down. Near the virtual world, the unique chaos inherent to the Chaos Furnace was drawn away.
As they approached, even the environmental changes caused by their presence were affected. Within the chaos, they started to regain clarity. The chaos creatures that emerged from this state showed varied expressions—some burst into tears, while others roared up at the heavens.
It wasn’t easy for them to return to normal form while immersed in chaos. They had long been consumed by the Chaos Furnace, dying and resurrecting repeatedly, with their sense of self overtaken by chaos.
The moment they recovered felt as though all their burdens had been lifted, bringing an unparalleled sense of relief and beauty.
Within the virtual world, Zheng Yichen gazed at the forming ’Calamity Star’ before him. Lilith had poured all useless data and bugs into it. But that wasn’t enough—she had always been capable of self-organizing, handling any waste data or bugs on her own.
Unlike the Virtual World Core, which accumulated such issues over time—not because the core was inadequate, but because the virtual world was simply too vast.
The sheer volume of waste data and bugs generated far surpassed what Lilith could handle. Now that she had access to the Virtual World Core, these issues began to surface as well.
However, Lilith remained unfazed by these problems. The virtual world had methods to address such things in the past, and so did she. Not only did she manage them, but she also actively collected the waste data, and when the accumulation reached a certain threshold, she would simulate a Calamity Star scenario with Zheng Yichen.
It was almost like... dual cultivation.
The chaotic environment of the Abyss Furnace was now being fully utilized by the virtual world. The expanding vast virtual space continuously extracted elements of chaos from its surroundings at a rate faster than the chaos could replenish itself.
During the process, Lilith uncovered additional information: "Boss, the Chaos Furnace is an intersecting area of various forces in this world, which is why such chaos is generated here. I’ve discovered a pathway leading to deeper layers of the Chaos Furnace."
"Would that area significantly aid our efforts? Can we enter directly?"
"Yes, although it’s called a pathway, it exists everywhere. You simply need to use the correct method to sink deeper. However, it will be much more dangerous there."
"Hahaha! But you’ve already mentioned it, so let’s go!" Zheng Yichen said resolutely. Lilith nodded and began her operations. The virtual world, which had enveloped a portion of the Chaos Furnace, started to ’descend.’
The chaos creatures gathered nearby sensed the change. They could feel the sinking virtual world acting like a plug, blocking something. Once that plug burst, even more intense chaos would erupt.
Yet they still refused to leave this place. Despite the sudden danger, this area was the only refuge capable of restoring them—a Pure Land.
As the virtual world constructed by Zheng Yichen descended, it endured immense pressure. The surrounding environment shifted, syncing with the changes occurring outside the virtual world. Amid this synchronization, Zheng Yichen observed the changes in the outer environment.
It was a domain even more chaotic than space storms, filled with distortions and chaos. Its bizarre, kaleidoscopic colors created a visceral discomfort, affecting both mind and soul.
The damage to one’s eyes was particularly acute. Just a fleeting glance could evoke a chaotic sensation as if the eyes themselves wanted to flee to the soles of one’s feet, despite the surreal realism of the experience.
Even after staring for just a moment, Zheng Yichen rubbed his aching eyes.
"What is the purpose of this place?" he asked, exhaling as he massaged his temples. Meanwhile, the Calamity Star beside him began to inflate like a balloon.
Through the permissions he accessed, Zheng Yichen could sense that this entity was filling up not only with chaos drawn from the outer environment but also with bugs and waste data rapidly generated by the virtual world.
As Zheng Yichen gazed with his naked eyes into the deeper chaos, his vision almost failed him. Even Lilith was visibly affected by this location.
In this environment, black-clad Lilith transitioned to a red-clad state and, in an effort to expedite heat dissipation, began reducing portions of her clothing.
"Boss, you should prepare yourself now."
"Oh, right. Got it—" Zheng Yichen plunged the fishing rod in his hand into the ground, mobilizing a massive repository of resources from within the virtual world. He stripped away these resources to convert them into his own strength.
During this process, Lilith even began transferring resources from the deeper layers of the Chaos Furnace. Although the outer environment’s chaos was overwhelming, it was saturated with Elements power and other forms of energy. When these energies made contact with the virtual world, they too could be transformed.
After confirming the viability of this process, Lilith started temporarily transforming portions of chaos into chaotic lands within the virtual world. These lands, infused with chaos, would disrupt her own system performance.
They would also seriously affect the virtual world, much like a virus. Yet before the chaotic lands could take root and spread, Zheng Yichen directly erased them with the Earth Devourer technique.
Some of the chaos was concentrated in the Calamity Star, while another portion was obliterated by Zheng Yichen. Chaos required a framework to exist within the world, whereas Oblivion symbolized the manifestation of a world’s destruction.
Chaos, in the end, couldn’t contend with Oblivion.
This simulation turned out far more intense than anticipated. Lilith continued to stabilize the Calamity Star, not aiming to push Zheng Yichen past his limits, but testing the boundaries of her own constraints instead.
The star core battery, a seemingly inexhaustible energy source, began to exhibit Red Warmth.
"Boss, it’s time to act."
Lilith’s voice carried a trace of distortion. While she could persist in accumulating energy, she needed to reserve enough capacity to handle potential emergencies.
This was merely a special simulation of the Calamity Star for cultivation—not a do-or-die battle.
"Alright!!" Zheng Yichen’s eyes turned blood-red, and a Scarlet Aura erupted around him. In his perception, the Essence of Life began burning rapidly.
The hand holding his fishing rod seemed to dissolve into nothingness, engulfed in intense darkness that even the Scarlet Aura couldn’t penetrate; the rod’s original form became entirely obscured.
Under Lilith’s guidance, the Calamity Star began to emit a dazzling light, signaling an imminent explosion as the immense chaos within was continually pressured by external forces.
Amid this extreme pressure, Zheng Yichen struck the Calamity Star. Oblivion collided head-on with the exploding Calamity Star.
The interior of the virtual world was plunged into darkness in an instant, sending violent ripples throughout, nearly collapsing. The darkness of Oblivion swallowed up even the kaleidoscopic light outside the virtual world.
The deeper layers of the Chaos Furnace turned pitch black, and the chaos creatures on the surface found themselves enveloped in darkness.
This kind of darkness evoked an indescribable fear, one that surpassed even a return to chaos. Some chaos creatures shrieked in terror, fleeing outward.
They couldn’t see anything. Their attempts to conjure magic or other powers yielded no light whatsoever, leaving them to stumble about like headless flies.
Occasionally colliding with other chaos creatures, they didn’t erupt into rage or attacks; instead, they latched onto one another tightly, as if the presence of companions offered a glimmer of solace.
Inside the virtual world, Lilith focused intently on the erupting Calamity Star. Currently, it was suppressed by the full power of Oblivion unleashed by Zheng Yichen. However, the explosion generated from the vast chaos inside had not been extinguished. If Zheng Yichen’s control faltered for even a moment, it would detonate instantly.
If that happened, the entire virtual world would shatter. The original intent of the Virtual World Core had been to seek the birth of genesis from such an explosion.
Ordinary explosions couldn’t hope to achieve this, but Zheng Yichen’s Oblivion stemmed directly from world destruction—any creation born from such destruction would be a rebirth, including a cataclysmic explosion.
The prerequisite, however, was for the explosion to overcome the Oblivion embedded in Zheng Yichen’s attack. Failure to surmount it would result in stillbirth.
Lilith didn’t share the Virtual World Core’s aspirations. Instead of allowing the explosion to break through Oblivion’s suppression, she preferred Zheng Yichen to crush it entirely. Although she couldn’t hinder the Calamity Star directly,
she could allocate more resources to Zheng Yichen. The power of Oblivion grew stronger, and the light emitted by the Calamity Star grew even brighter.
It even dispelled portions of the surrounding darkness.
The light born from the interplay of chaos and Oblivion’s suppression was meticulously recorded by Lilith, adding depth to her previous notes on information related to World Creation.
Oblivion reduced everything to dark silence, whereas this light represented the drive to pierce through darkness and spawn new life.
In Lilith’s analysis, these forces were akin to the interplay of Yin and Yang. Which ultimately proved stronger depended on the balance—once tilted, one side would dominate the other.
But alas, this was merely a ’simulated’ cultivation exercise, unworthy of being deemed a true battle between Oblivion and Life Creation. The disparity between the creative forces and the sheer destructive potency of Oblivion was too vast.
Nevertheless, this record would allow for future adjustments and enhancements. The focus remained on Zheng Yichen’s ability to transform and master the aura of Oblivion.
