I Am Also An Extraordinary Creature

Chapter 107: Chapter 105: Stretching_1

Looking at his withered arm, the Alien Phenomenon creature gasped for air with lingering fear. It stared intently at the black spear in Zheng Yichen’s hand. The flames carrying the scent of death hadn’t caused it much notable damage, but the damage inflicted by the black spear was significant.

Part of its blood had been drawn, leaving the arm dry and difficult to use, while Zheng Yichen’s condition seemed to have improved.

The Alien Phenomenon creature extended its intact right arm, and the formed wind burst forth, not only repelling the approaching Zheng Yichen but also tearing through the surrounding flames and putting some distance between itself and Zheng Yichen.

Its physique here was not strong; although it appeared to be robust, the recent close contact allowed it to determine that its strength was inferior to Zheng Yichen’s.

"Huff—I’m called Oma," declared the Alien Phenomenon creature, eying the visibly disappointed Zheng Yichen. Despite their great distance, it could carry its voice to Zheng Yichen by manipulating the wind.

"Introductions now? My name is Chang Qing." Zheng Yichen replied offhandedly, filled with regret. He was too inexperienced with using special powers, having only managed to catch the Alien Phenomenon creature off guard once. It would be difficult to employ the same tactic again.

"If you weren’t a Proxy Agent of Dusk, perhaps you could have become one of our comrades," Oma said as he watched Zheng Yichen, feeling somewhat sentimental but without any intention of persuading him. Once a Proxy Agent of Dusk, there was no leaving it.

Indeed... none favored by Dusk is ever simple.

Under Zheng Yichen’s watchful gaze, Oma produced a medicinal pill and popped it into his mouth. His withered arm quickly returned to normal, and the burnt hair on his body grew back.

"Damn..." Zheng Yichen couldn’t help but feel envious watching Oma swiftly recover by taking a medicinal pill in the midst of battle. After all, weren’t his two witches at home based on a similar principle? Running into a troublesome enemy, one could just pop a pill to regain vitality and then pummel the opponent into submission.

Clenching his restored left hand, Oma aimed both hands at Zheng Yichen, whose hair was then whipped up by a sudden violent wind. The air around became increasingly wild, condensing into a colossal tornado with him right at its core.

Realizing something was wrong, Zheng Yichen found it too late to escape as the eye of the tornado quickly shrank. Just as he had used flames to pressure Oma before, the latter was now using the tornado to compress him. New greenish flames erupted from the black spear and were drawn into the tornado, where they fragmented and vanished.

Oma’s mad laughter floated down from above the tornado; looking up, Zheng Yichen saw him and swung the black spear, sending a pillar of fire skyward. However, the powerful wind pressed the fire down, and Oma, hovering above the tornado, slightly lifted an eyebrow.

He saw the compressed flames becoming even more tumultuous, pushing back against the tornado that was squeezing Zheng Yichen. Then, the flames started to converge and Zheng Yichen’s figure became visible through them.

Oma instantly moved away from above the tornado, allowing Zheng Yichen’s thrust with the long spear to fruitlessly hang midway before being steered towards the increasingly confined tornado.

A column of fire penetrated the massive tornado, and Zheng Yichen raced out through the opening. Glancing at his wrinkled arm, he noted wryly that while others expended mana to use their special powers, he paid in blood.

Having escaped from the tornado, he saw Oma still maintaining a considerable distance from him. He couldn’t help feeling helpless; he preferred battling behemoths that would engage in a direct contest of strength, like the earlier encounters, rather than an adversary who gave no quarter like the one he faced now.

He needed to find a way.

Watching Oma, Zheng Yichen stretched out his hand and lightly traced something in the air. After extracting Oma’s blood with the black spear, he had received new feedback.

The feedback wasn’t obvious, but it changed his sensation of controlling the surrounding forces. Previously, it required extra focus to avoid an unintended explosion of the gathered flames.

Now, his control over those forces was enhanced while he remained focused.

In that case... let’s give it a try.

Zheng Yichen charged towards Oma. As he closed in, Oma, sensing the futility, lifted his hand and chopped down towards the ground. The earth in front of him crumbled across a large area, and ground spikes surged forth.

Among these rapidly emerging spikes, Zheng Yichen deftly dodged their assaults, sensing the accumulating force beneath the ground. By avoiding areas where that force concentrated, he could evade. The complication arose with ground spikes that did not project straight up but at angles, necessitating weapon deflection.

So far, Oma had demonstrated powers over earth, wind, and lightning.

"Hm?" Curiosity piqued, Oma raised an eyebrow as he watched Zheng Yichen nimbly evade among the ground spikes. Zheng Yichen’s speed exceeded his expectations; more precisely, Zheng Yichen kept getting more accurate in predicting his attack patterns.

Upon seeing this, Oma immediately switched to a new attack method, and a vast expanse of thunderclouds appeared in the sky. Lightning from the thunderclouds struck down continuously, and upon hitting the ground, it raged across the earth instead of vanishing right away.

Zheng Yichen’s black spear in his hand was ablaze with flames that spread out. Fire, as a force, was intended for offensive use and was less effective for defense, but the flames were sufficient to shield him from the effects of the lightning.

Seeing Zheng Yichen clumsily defending against his attacks, Oma maintained the lightning assault. Zheng Yichen’s weapon had an advantage with such flames, but no matter how good the weapon was, it couldn’t keep producing flames indefinitely; there must be some kind of consumption involved.

Once Zheng Yichen could no longer sustain the consumption, that would be the moment he’d be killed.

Unable to advance even a step due to the lightning’s influence, Zheng Yichen gritted his teeth. The black spear in his hand split into two, one of which he threw with all his might. Previously, he couldn’t be sure of a direct hit, but after his sense of the elements in the environment was enhanced, he could lock onto his target through the wind.

The thrown black spear swept up a gale that shredded the lightning in front of it.

"What??" Oma’s eyes widened as he watched the rapidly approaching black spear, conjuring a Lightning spear in his hands to throw. The thrown Lightning spear collided with the black spear carrying the storm, and unlike the thrown spear, the Lightning spear was sustained by his power.

As long as he maintained the Lightning spear, its momentum wouldn’t fade. The black spear and the Lightning spear were locked in a confrontation, and after a brief stalemate, the storm on the spear was torn apart, and the black spear showed significant fractures.

Seeing this, Oma added more power, completely shattering the black spear with his maintained Lightning spear, revealing a shorter spear inside.

The short spear, its blood-colored patterns now exposed without the black shell, immediately emitted a hissing sound.

!? Oma, who hadn’t anticipated this turn of events, was affected by the hissing sound and became somewhat dazed. The Lightning spear he maintained dissipated into nothing, and the rotating short spear, its remaining force insufficient to cause substantive harm to Oma, instead awakened him with the pain from the spear’s puncture on his palm.

"What is this..." Having come back to his senses, Oma instinctively grabbed the nearly shattered short spear. The sound it emitted had the power to affect the mind, catching him off guard, but the weapon was so fragile that it was nearly broken apart by a light bombardment from the Lightning spear.

If the short spear had been exposed from the start, then with Zheng Yichen’s throwing attack, he would have either died or sustained serious injuries.

But none of that mattered now...

A sudden, searing pain erupted, and Oma’s eyes widened. Under this pain, the short spear slipped from his grasp, and the gale swept away the eerie green flames burning on his body. Simultaneously, it also wrapped around the long spear about to pierce him, causing Oma to break into a heavy cold sweat.

He had only been distracted for a moment, and Zheng Yichen had broken through his assault. Had it not been for the minor injury from the short spear that awakened him prematurely,

he might have been directly killed by Zheng Yichen by now. Oma’s face flushed with frustration. Even if no one knew about his repeated failures against Zheng Yichen, he still felt humiliated.

To be bested by a brute with no skill in special powers, one careless moment could be forgiven, but this time, he had no excuse.

He grabbed the black spear in front of him with one hand, and the lightning surging from his palm subdued the flames on the spear. Lightning traveled up the spear towards Zheng Yichen.

The lightning burst forth upon Zheng Yichen, his hair standing on end. He knew too little about special powers; even after absorbing feedback from Oma’s blood, he couldn’t directly counter this sort of lightning - at most, he could disrupt it a bit. The power of Hellfire helped him take less damage.

Oma felt Zheng Yichen’s struggle, "You grow so fast, being able to fly in such a short time, but... Ahh—!"

The spear he was suppressing suddenly extended, piercing through his throat. In that instant, he felt the blood draining rapidly from his body. The wound, being close to the head, made his vision darken, and he could only passively resist the blood extraction by the black spear.

Zheng Yichen, blackened by the lightning, didn’t give him a chance to resist. With Oma’s lightning power weakened, restoring normal movement, Zheng Yichen punched him directly in the head, dragging him down from the sky and slamming him hard onto the ground.

Immediately after, Oma’s twitching body began to wither, and as his blood was drained, the signs of decay on Zheng Yichen’s body quickly disappeared. He still had injuries, and his healing ability was greatly reduced in this environment.

With Oma’s death, the Alien Phenomenon began to dissipate. Zheng Yichen picked up the short spear that had fallen far away, and, looking at the cracks on it, he exhaled. It was no longer usable for the time being.
