'Fifteen hours, at least,' Gin estimated grimly. He doubted the current team could endure for that long without collapsing. If it were up to him, he would have split the group into shifts or increased their numbers for a rotating strategy.

As he moved among the mages and ability-users, assessing their condition,Kyrie Lynchfield quietly approached.

"You're deep in thought," she remarked, her tone playful. "Something worrying you?"

Gin glanced at her, surprised she had noticed. He quickly checked his expression using a mana-infused reflection spell—his face was perfectly neutral. Yet, somehow, Kyrie had seen through him.

Perhaps it was a joke. Or perhaps she had sharper insight than he had assumed.

"I'm not joking. Tell me what's on your mind," Kyrie Lynchfield said, her voice earnest. "We're comrades in this fight. You can share your worries with me."

Gin regarded her with quiet curiosity before giving a nod. "I'm concerned about whether we can actually bring this monster down."

Kyrie let out a light laugh and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Oh, come on. The Needle Giant's tricky, sure, but everyone here has experience.

Many of the mages and ability-users have faced it before—myself included. You don't have to worry."

Her confidence was impressive. Gin couldn't help but marvel at her composure.

To speak so assuredly about enduring such a grueling hunt meant she and the others might be far more prepared than he had expected.

"That's quite impressive," he admitted.

"It's really not," Kyrie replied with a shrug. "Once a monster's strategy is known, hunting it isn't too difficult."

"Hunting it may be manageable," Gin countered, "but maintaining the stamina and mental focus to fight continuously—that's a different kind of strength. Not many can endure fifteen straight hours of battle. If everyone here can do that, I can't help but be impressed."

At that, Kyrie blinked in confusion. "Fifteen hours? What are you talking about? The average time for a Needle Giant hunt is two hours and forty-five minutes."

Gin's expression darkened. Two hours and forty-five minutes was by no means a short time, but it was a far cry from the fifteen hours his calculations had suggested.

For most teams, pacing themselves with breaks to replenish their energy was enough to push through such hunts. Yet based on his observations, something about this hunt was different.

"Are you saying you fight for three hours straight with no significant changes in tactics?" he asked cautiously.

"Exactly. The Needle Giant doesn't tend to act unpredictably. It tires out eventually, and that's usually when we finish it off," Phaela explained.

Gin frowned, turning his focus back to the monster. He meticulously reassessed the giant's condition,

analyzing its core and magical reserves through his expanded domain.

Despite his recalculations, the facts remained unchanged—if their strategy continued as it was, it would take at least thirteen to fourteen more hours to deplete the core's energy.

Pausing their attacks would only extend the hunt further as the core slowly reabsorbed mana.

"If this hunt lasts fifteen hours, will the team be able to endure it?" Gin asked quietly.

Kyrie tilted her head, slightly puzzled. "I wouldn't know. We've never gone that long before. But I think I could handle it. The others? They'd probably last five hours at best."

Gin exhaled softly, his expression grim. He would need to find another solution. At this rate, exhaustion would claim the entire team before the giant could be defeated.

Just then, the Needle Giant roared and unleashed a barrage of glowing needles. The front-line ability-users raised their enchanted shields, deflecting the attack.

The needles bounced off, redirecting their force back at the giant, though the retaliation barely dented its immense reserves of mana.

With a ground-shaking roar, the giant charged, swinging its mana-infused club.

BOOM!

The ability-users braced behind their shields, absorbing the blow as a shockwave rippled through the battlefield.

CRACK!

The impact was deflected, momentarily forcing the giant back.

Taking advantage of the opening, the bait teams quickly repositioned. Team Two began harassing the giant from behind, drawing its attention. As it turned to pursue them, a barrage of fire magic erupted across its back.

KRAK-THOOM!

The flames surged, giving the team ample time to regroup and maintain their formation. The hunt proceeded as planned, but Gin could see it wasn't sustainable. He needed a new approach.

We need a debuff, he thought, narrowing his eyes. Either he had to weaken the giant's durability or find a way to drain its mana faster.

The current strategy wasn't working—the monster's immense magical defenses made it nearly impossible to embed weakening spells inside its body.

His thoughts turned to his specialty. What if I combine the weakening effect with my lightning magic? Unlike other attacks, lightning could penetrate deeply once it struck.

Although it didn't cause significant damage due to the giant's mana shield, it might be enough to deliver a spell directly into its core.

Gin's mind raced as he meticulously refined his strategy, his concentration so absolute that he fell silent. Lost in thought, he barely noticed Phaela watching him with a mix of curiosity and mild offense.

'What the heck? We were in the middle of a conversation,' she thought with a sigh. She knew mages sometimes became completely absorbed when strategizing, but being ignored still stung. Nevertheless, she held her tongue, letting him focus.

Time slipped by, and soon it was the lightning team's turn to launch their assault. Kyrie shifted nervously on her feet, glancing at Gin.

He was still deep in thought, his gaze distant. She hesitated, unsure whether she should interrupt him.

Just then, as if breaking free from a trance, Gin turned to her, his eyes gleaming like stars.

"You will lead the next attack," he said, his voice steady and commanding.

"Wait… me?" Kyrie stammered, startled by the sudden directive.

"Can you do it?" Gin asked, his gaze unwavering.

"Of course I can!" she answered with determination, straightening her posture.

"Good. I'll trust you to handle it." He nodded in approval.

A bright smile spread across Kyrie's face. "Leave it to me!"

With that, the second phase of the attack commenced, the air crackling with tension and anticipation.

This time, they would strike with purpose.
