I alone am the Honoured One! -
Chapter 781 781: A little banter
"Ugh... Nue'er, stop—ahaha! It hurts, it hurts!!"
Qi Xue shrieked, as she tried to crawl away across the bed.
But Qi Nue was having none of it.
She pounced on her sister, grabbing a pillow on the way and mercilessly whacking Qi Xue's back with it.
Pomf! Pomf! Pomf!
"YOU!!"
"I trusted you!!"
Pomf!
"You said he'd fall into my arms!!"
Pomf pomf!
"And instead... AND INSTEAD—I ended up NAKED in front of him!!!"
Qi Xue wheezed as she was beaten into the bed, her body jolting helplessly with every blow. "Ahaha—s-stop—wait, wait! Nue'er! Listen to meee-!!"
Qi Nue, however, was not listening.
Fueled by rage, she tossed the pillow aside and pounced onto Qi Xue's back, pinning her down with her knees as she sat on top of her.
"Explain yourself, you evil witch!!" Qi Nue yelled, grabbing a handful of Qi Xue's soft cheeks and tugging them mercilessly.
"Wahhh- I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!" Qi Xue cried out between her laughter, flailing her legs helplessly against the mattress.
"You said the perfume was just 'mildly suggestive'!!"
"I-it IS mildly suggestive!!" Qi Xue whined, twisting under her sister's hold.
"It's not my fault Little Brother has the nose of an astral beast! Who sniffs people like that?!"
Qi Nue let out a furious screech and pulled Qi Xue's ear, making her sister yelp like a puppy.
"That's not the point!!" she yelled, tugging her ear back and forth like ringing a bell.
"First you tell me to spray that cursed perfume!"
"Then you tell me to wear a towel and pretend to take a bath in his room!"
"And THEN you didn't tell me he might walk back in while I was naked!!"
Qi Xue was laughing so hard that tears streamed from her eyes, even as she desperately tried to pry Qi Nue's fingers off her poor abused ear.
"I-I didn't know he'd come back!! Wahaha!!"
"Oh, you didn't know, huh?!"
Without warning, she grabbed Qi Xue's waist and flipped her over, sending her sister sprawling on her back with a loud fwump! on the bed.
Qi Xue gasped and tried to wriggle away, but Qi Nue caught her by the neck and jostled her back and forth violently like a ragdoll.
"Embarrassment!!"
"Humiliation!!"
"Death by shame!!"
"AHAHAHA STOP, I'M GONNA DIE!!" Qi Xue wailed, her arms flailing uselessly as her head bobbed like a noodle.
Finally, out of breath, Qi Nue let go and collapsed on top of her sister, both of them panting from the chaos.
Qi Xue turned her head slightly with a giggle "Haa.. my dear little sister..."
Seeing her, Qi Nue rolled to the side.
Raising her leg she kicked Qi Xue squarely in the butt, sending her flying off the bed with a startled yelp
"Ahh..." Qi Xue rolled down on the floor before rubbing her ass in mild pain "You brute..."
Sitting on the bed, Qi Nue gave her a glare "That's what you get for giving me those ideas."
Qi Xue whined, wobbling to her knees "If anything, you got some skinship with Little Brother. Shouldn't you be thanking me?"
"Thanking you?" Qi Nue snorted and grabbed a nearby pillow, lobbing it at Qi Xue's face.
POMF!
The pillow hit its target with perfect accuracy, knocking Qi Xue backward once again.
Qi Xue groaned dramatically as she lay there, "Abused... I'm being abused..."
Qi Nue, ignoring her sister's antics, flopped back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling with a heavy sigh.
Qi Xue crawled back up onto the bed, dragging herself like a wounded soldier, and flopped beside her sister.
"Maybe Little Brother liked what he saw. You're gorgeous, you know."
"Shut up, Xue'er."
...
*swoosh* The crisp, biting wind rushed past Zhao Tian and Ji Shuang as they dashing through the air, gazing down at the snow-filled landscape.
Looking at the forest, Zhao Tian's gaze softened as he remembered the times he spent with Yao Jing in these mountains, collecting herbs with her.
Ji Shuang reached out and squeezed his hand "Tian..."
With a shake of his head, he smiled "I... almost forgot about the Astral mine I and Jing'er discovered during the time of herb collecting."
(A/n: Around chapter 541)
Hearing this, Ji Shuang just sighed "At that time, we decided to gain the ownership of the cave with a torunament.. But haaa, before that tournament could happen, we got invaded by vampires."
"And since then, everything is in disarray. Now since Zhou Hein is the Emperor, he gave the ownership of the Astral Cave to us."
They soon descended, reaching the Astral cave's mouth.
The entrance remained just as Zhao Tian remembered... jagged stone framing an otherwise unassuming cavern and its depths concealed by a thin veil of mist swirling at its mouth.
There are even some machines they recovered at that time.
They slowly entered the cave and looked around at the abadoned machines and tons of astral stones.
Gently grasping her hand, Zhao Tian pulled her to the interior where the Motherstone was present.
As they entered in, Yao Jing raised her head and looked at the big stone embedded in the ceiling pulsing faintly.
"This looks great..."
...
After looking around for a while, they stepped out of the cave.
The cold wind brushed past them, but neither Zhao Tian nor Ji Shuang seemed to mind as they strolled side by side, their hands clasped together, their boots leaving a pair of soft trails in the untouched snow.
Above, the pale winter sun struggled behind a thin layer of clouds, casting a soft silver light over the landscape.
Ji Shuang hugged his arm tighter, pressing her cheek briefly against the warmth of his shoulder. "It feels like we're on a date…" she murmured, a little embarrassed but unable to hide the smile playing at her lips.
Zhao Tian let out a low, warm chuckle, glancing sideways at her with eyes full of affection.
His fingers tightened around hers as he interlaced them properly, their hands fitting together as if they were always meant to.
"It sure does," he replied, his voice carrying a trace of fondness that warmed her heart far better than the fur-lined coat she wore.
The two continued their slow, unhurried walk.
As Zhao Tian's gaze wandered lazily across the forest, something caught his eye... a faint glint of color amidst the sea of white.
His steps slowed and his eyes narrowed slightly as he spotted a small herb growing near the roots of a pine tree.
"Wait," he murmured, gently tugging Ji Shuang's hand to guide her with him toward the tree.
The two of them crouched down together in the snow, the cold seeping slightly into their knees through the thick fabric of their clothes.
Zhao Tian leaned forward, brushing away a thin layer of snow carefully to reveal a delicate herb with vibrant green leaves edged with a faint silver shimmer.
At its center, there is a small fruit-like seed, translucent, glowing faintly.
Ji Shuang leaned closer as her eyes widened with curiosity "What is it?"
"This," Zhao Tian began, gently cupping the herb with both hands as if cradling something precious, "is called the Silverdew Herb. It only grows in places where the temperature remains below freezing year-round."
"Its roots absorb ambient astral energy from the snow itself, purifying it into this small seed at the center."
He pointed carefully at the glowing seed.
Ji Shuang nodded slowly.
"It's quite rare. In alchemy, it's used in elixirs that cleanse the meridians and soothe inner injuries caused by unstable energy surges. Even high-tier sects would consider it a valuable find."
Carefully, Zhao Tian pinched the stem just above the root with two fingers and twisted gently.
With a soft snap, the seed detached from the plant, leaving the silver-edged leaves to tremble lightly in the breeze.
He held it up to her, smiling softly.
"But, if you eat it raw like this, it tastes surprisingly sweet. Like... frozen honey."
Ji Shuang blinked, her lips parting slightly in surprise "Really?"
Zhao Tian nodded and extended his hand toward her, the glowing seed resting carefully in his palm.
"Here. Try it."
For a moment, Ji Shuang hesitated, eyeing the glowing seed suspiciously.
But Zhao Tian's warm smile reassured her, and she reached out with delicate fingers, picking up the seed from his hand.
Their fingertips brushed briefly, sending a strange, pleasant jolt through her chest.
She brought the seed to her lips and popped it into her mouth.
The instant it touched her tongue, her eyes widened in astonishment.
A burst of cool sweetness flooded her mouth, clean, crisp, and pure, like the first snowmelt of spring.
It wasn't overwhelmingly sugary like regular fruit; instead, it carried a subtle, refined sweetness that seemed to clear her mind and lift her spirit.
"Hmm!" she let out a small, surprised sound, her eyes sparkling as she chewed slowly, savoring the unique flavor.
Zhao Tian chuckled again, clearly pleased by her reaction "Told you."
Ji Shuang hurriedly nodded "It is really good... Lets get some more."
"Hahaha..."
