Hunter of the Evernight -
Chapter 364: A Beautiful Dream
Chapter 364: A Beautiful Dream
In that deep dark cavern where nothing was meant to reside, Ana sat in place, her eyes trained on the golden loom before her, she couldn’t help but ponder the source of the damage that had been done to the threads.
It was a perfect story, one that was supposed to take place over a few months.
She’d made sure it was logical and without conflict, ensuring that Alex’s desire to avoid battling the Order would be fulfilled.
Unfortunately, an anomaly showed up at some point and ended up creating a plot hole so big, that there was no way her previously devised story could still hold.
But there was a plan B and though regretful that they’d have to use it, she knew that there was no point dwelling on ifs and buts.
So she moved, her fingers dancing as though she were leading a musical number as a choirmaster, causing several golden threads, thinner than a spider web, to emerge from her fingertips.
Then she began to sew, fixing the damage wrought upon the loom, to ensure that fate would once again be on her side and the side of those she wished no harm on.
It would be difficult but was there a need to falter?... A black and white circle emerged on her forehead at that moment and she made great strides in an instant, harnessing the true power that dwelt within the Innate Talent known only as Weaver of Fate.

Bam
Lord Shadow was forced to their knees, their shadowy cape destroyed and half of their mask gone, revealing the feminine face underneath.
"You dared to come here, intent on harming the future of the empire. You are bold, I’ll give you that." A Cavalier said, his body covered in yellow flames.
Lord Shadow, who in actuality, was Victoria, chuckled, revealing the blood on her teeth. "Quite an unfortunate turn of events, I’ll say."
"I would guess she is a member of the Shadowless organization trying to impede our plans." Another remarked.
"Let’s return with her and see what the Mouthpiece has to say." Yet another suggested with the others nodding in agreement.
Surrounded on all sides with Albus unconscious beside her, Victoria showed nary a sign of panic even as it was clear she stood no chance against so many Mystics.
Even if their individual strength were stuck at the 3rd-4th Lock, when working together, they were a force capable of downing a 7th Lock without issue and holding back a Daemon if the situation called for it.
This was the power of the Order, the power Alex wished to avoid facing off against.
Victoria remained silent as a Cavalier approached her and grabbed her hand, pulling her to her feet, intent on dragging her away only to pause as she muttered something incoherent.
The Cavalier glanced at her. "What did you say?"
Victoria didn’t respond, merely meeting his gaze with an impassive expression.
"I asked you a question. What did you say?"
"... When the flowers bloom, the world shall experience a beautiful dream."
"What?"
Before they could question what she meant, the ground suddenly trembled causing everyone except Victoria to grow tense.

Alex had the upper hand of Authority when faced with every single member of the Order.
It was the same as in Aragon where the problem lay in numbers.
He was but one man while the enemy was many and not just that, they also had significant strength.
A head-on battle would surely end in his defeat as Authority was one thing, and ability was another.
This was why plan A involved manipulating the laws of fate in his favor, ensuring that he would be fated to learn about the location of Ashtyx as long as he kept on the path plotted out by the Weaver.
Unfortunately, that plan had long since fallen through and so, Plan B was to commence.
But intending to carry it out was a different matter altogether as Alex found himself assaulted by the same lightheadedness that had put him out of commission for an entire night.
His head ached terribly and his vision took a hit as it felt like he was underwater due to the way images appeared before him.
He could hardly capture the sight of Charlotte doing her best to keep him safe from the combined attacks of more than 10 Chimeras.
Safe to say, she was about to lose.
So, Alex kept himself grounded for a moment as he felt it would be enough.
As long as he could execute it, that would finish it and so... he snapped.
Unlike most times when it was loud, this one had a low timbre... perhaps it was because of his condition that it seemed that way.
Then it happened.
It was almost like the earth suddenly gained a heart, its heartbeat echoing across the hall and even reaching the areas above.
Noticing the anomaly, the illusory presence in the hallway reached out to freeze Alex but Charlotte was faster, utilizing the blood of the Chimera she’d wounded to cover Alex in a protective suit of flames which immediately repelled the cold air about him... unfortunately, that distraction was enough for the Chimeras she fought with to attack and rip her to shreds, causing her to disintegrate.
However, her sacrifice was enough as at the center of the hall, a flower suddenly bloomed, its black stalk and white flower petals in great contrast to the eerie green bathing the hall.
But that wasn’t the end as the flower began to grow, its roots erupting from the ground like tendrils seeking to devour everything in sight.
The flower grew, from a tiny plant to a towering tree that ripped apart the roof above and continued to the surface where the academy stood tall.
The Mouthpiece and by extension, all members of the Order were unable to understand what was happening but knowing that something had to be done, tried to either destroy the plant or the creator of it.
Unfortunately, Alex was nowhere to be found with the emergence of the colossal tree that reached for the skies above.
Then the flower at the top of the tree opened, causing white spores to erupt from within and cover the entire city in an instant.
A moment later, all fell into a deep slumber and dreamt of the most beautiful dream.
