Chapter 292: Fenrir

The battlefield they returned to was a mess.

The BeastMen were completely defeated and the landscape seemed to work against them but of course, that was because of the monstrosity believed to be Platadoris rampaging about.

Seeing Enrique and in extension, his comrades in danger, Alejandro moved on instinct.

Several stone pillars emerged from the ground to prevent the appendages of the monstrosity from further reaping the lives of his people.

Of course, it wasn’t a permanent solution as contact between the pillars and the rampaging appendages resulted in the latter coming out on top.

Crack

"Ana, Victoria!" Alex called with both women quickly getting to work.

Ana paused time for Platadoris while Victoria utilized the Blessings to move at speeds surpassing that of sound, retrieving those that were most likely to lose their lives once the paused time resumed.

"Quickly!" Ana cried out in a strained voice as she struggled to keep Platadoris at bay due to the rather annoying beast already adapting to her skill.

"Done!" Victoria replied triumphantly as she retrieved the last of those in immediate danger.

Letting out a sigh, Ana let go with the subsequent dust clouds telling of an alternate future that could have resulted in much bloodshed had they not reacted properly.

Almost as though Platadoris was annoyed at being denied its quarry, it shifted its attention to the newcomers, emitting such potent bloodlust, the group was left frowning deeply.

"He wants to kill us," Ana muttered softly.

Alex sighed as he took a step forward, unleashing Nyx’s authority to counteract the unrestrained display of murderous rage. "Excellent observation, Anastasia, I’ll give you a point for that."

Pa

He appeared above Platadoris in a flash of black and white before snapping his fingers again to form a black hole.

Then he repeated the same thing while dodging Platadoris’s flailing appendages with slight difficulty, only this time he moved to the cardinal points of the monster, planting black holes on the west, east, north, and south with Platadoris at the center before reappearing amongst his allies.

Small black holes revolved around Platadoris before expanding to large holes that exuded incredibly powerful gravitational pulls.

Cries of agony erupted from the monstrosity as its body was ripped apart from all sides, entering into the Black Holes surrounding it.

"It’s working..." Alejandro seemed in disbelief as he watched the scene.

When Alex had told him of the plan, he hadn’t expected it to be so effective, perhaps because he didn’t much understand the concept behind black holes and Alex wasn’t willing to explain too much for fear of blowing up the brains of an ally.

The BeastMen were left in awe as the enemy they thought to be undefeatable fell before the devices of the puny human accompanying them.

Once again, they acknowledged Alex’s formidable might.

Unfortunately, Alex didn’t share their sentiment as he quickly noticed that something was wrong and...

Crack

The crevices occurring on the earth’s surface further cemented his worries.

A quick scrutiny of Platadoris’s condition gave Alex an idea as to what was the problem.

"Unbelievable." He mused with a rather complicated expression on his visage. "Carrying out such drastic steps to remain... it reminds me of the Samson Option."

"Samson Option?... What’s that?" Ana inquired, ever curious.

Alex froze, realizing that he may have been too caught up in his observation to take account of his surroundings.

Coughing awkwardly, he remarked. "Ah, forget that, the black holes won’t work."

"Why?" Ana inquired.

"It..." Alex gestured at Platadoris. "... Has dug its roots deeply into the Wandering Forest. Destroying it right now would mean taking the entire forest along. We can’t allow that."

Alejandro inquired as he took a step forward. "Would your attack work if we detach its roots?"

"Most likely." Alex concurred.

"Then leave it to me." As he spoke, Alejandro made his way over to Platadoris, each step he took while peeling off the sleeve still on his back.

"You know, human, when my people are born, we arrive as mere dogs, unable to hurt anything but as we grow, as we advance, we unlock the potential we have, one that allows us to compete with even gods."

"Why are you telling me this?" Alex questioned to which Alejandro glanced back to answer.

"So you may open your eyes because you are about to witness the might of the Beast Wheel."

With those words, Alejandro’s human form gave way to a wolf-like beast as large as Platadoris emerging from the torn flesh.

He exuded a fierceness so sharp in his beast form, the very air around him bent and swayed with the earth sundering in response.

"This..."

"Fenrir," Ana muttered in excitement, cutting Alex off from his shock at the transformation.

"Fenrir?"

"Mn, the 7th and final Advancement of the Beast Wheel. It’s beautiful."

Though curious to ask more questions, Alex was forced to keep it at bay for the time being as he focused his attention on Platadoris. "You’ll tell me more later, for now, assist Alejandro. Understood?"

"Mn!"

With that, Ana transformed into her dragon form and Alejandro charged forward without hesitation.

Boom

Alejandro collided with Platadoris, an eerie screech erupting from the latter as its appendages moved to ensnare him but before it could do so, a pillar of flames descended from above, incinerating everything.

As the earth rumbled and the aether rippled without pause, one couldn’t help but stand and watch in awe of what could only be described as a clash of titans.

In the dark tower in a strange dimension, the beautiful lady with half of her face shrouded in darkness continued to sing strange rhymes, her silky smooth voice echoing in the obsidian tower.

Just then, there was a crack that drew her attention over, her luminescent eyes resting on one of the chains that held her captive.

On closer inspection, one would notice that entwined with the metal chains were green vines that were slowly turning gray.

"Oh... what a pleasant surprise." She muttered with a sharp glint in her eyes.
