How I Accidentally Married a Billionaire -
Chapter 482 - Chapter 482 Chapter 481
Chapter 482: Chapter 481 Chapter 482: Chapter 481 Kiera was about to greet old Mrs. Horton when suddenly a beep beep sound came from the phone.
She paused slightly and then realized that old Mrs. Horton had actually hung up the phone.
Kiera: “…”
Lewis Horton couldn’t help but laugh and cry, “Grandma only recognizes you as her granddaughter-in-law, there’s nothing I can do.”
Kiera shook her head.
Lewis Horton didn’t seem to intend to call back either.
Discussing these matters over the phone was too risky, if anyone’s phone were to be monitored, Kiera’s identity would be revealed.
She was currently pretending to be her sister, hoping to save her mother.
Of course, Lewis Horton wouldn’t expose her identity in public.
Kiera spoke up, “Let’s go see Grandma another day.”
“There’s no need to wait for another day,” Lewis Horton looked down, “in two days, the Horton Family is hosting a banquet, our first one since arriving in Clance, and it’s also our first appearance. The Horton family puts great importance on it, and has sent invitations to all the major families. As my fiancee, you’ll need to attend.”
Upon hearing this, Kiera looked at Lewis Horton, “A Horton Family banquet? What’s the occasion?”
As soon as she said that, she saw Lewis Horton’s expression stiffen slightly.
He coughed and turned to look to the side, then suddenly turned around, back facing Kiera, “There’s no particular reason, it’s just a casual affair.”
Of course, it was being hosted in honor of his birthday!
Yet this woman didn’t seem to care about him at all, she probably didn’t even remember when his birthday was!
Lewis Horton felt a bit sullen.
Although he sympathized with her recent stressful situation and the heavy burden she bore, her not remembering was just that–not remembering… Lewis Horton knew he shouldn’t be upset over such a trivial matter.
But he couldn’t help himself.
Seeing him turn his back, Kiera didn’t think much of it and just lay down before speaking, “There’s no reason needed to have a banquet… Alright, let’s sleep early.”
There was no sound after that.
Lewis Horton: ??
He slowly turned around to find that Kiera had already fallen asleep.
Her head was fully buried in the pillow, her long hair spread across the entire surface of the pillow, and when her eyes were closed, she looked so sweetly obedient.
Except for the reddish teardrop mole at the corner of her eye that suggested a pure yet seductive air.
Lewis Horton was completely enchanted by her.
He watched her quietly, and in the end could only sigh helplessly and closed his eyes, falling asleep.
That night, he found it hard to sleep deeply, and even in his dreams, Kiera dragged him out shopping, talking about buying a couple of outfits for Amy, yet when they got to the mall, she suddenly handed him a birthday gift: “Here, happy birthday, this is for you.”
In his dream, the touched smile on Lewis Horton’s face never faded.
Unfortunately, when the first rays of morning light spread across his face, Lewis Horton woke up to realize it was just a beautiful dream.
He looked silently at the ceiling and turned to look at the still sleeping woman, then suddenly smiled knowingly.
Kiera was so busy lately that her mind was occupied with how to complete the tasks set by the South Family to rescue her mother-in-law, Jodie South–how could she possibly remember his birthday?
He was really asking for too much.
How could he be angry with her over such a small matter?
The man who had sulked all night had just comforted himself back into a good mood.
…
After breakfast.
Kiera suddenly spoke up, “The partnership with the Gill family is complete, and today we just wait for their feedback after signing the contract. Instead of waiting at home like this, how about we go shopping?”
These words made Lewis Horton’s pupils shine slightly.
He suddenly looked up at Kiera but couldn’t detect any expression on her calm face.
Did she remember?
Or was it really just a casual suggestion to go shopping?
Lewis Horton coughed, “What will we be shopping for?”
Kiera replied, “It’s not necessarily about buying anything, let’s just browse!”
Sure enough, it was just a casual stroll!
Lewis Horton’s face lit up with a hint of a smile. “Okay, then!”
After breakfast, they had the nanny watch over Amy and told Mary Davis to get some rest before they headed out.
At the door, Ellis Olsen was nowhere to be seen.
But as they left the residential area, Kiera again vaguely spotted Ellis’s car, nestled in an inconspicuous corner.
The car windows were tinted with privacy film. The people inside could see out, but those outside couldn’t see in, so it was impossible to tell if Ellis was in the car.
Kiera then inquired, “Has big brother’s fever gone down?”
Ellis had stood out in the rain all night and had developed a fever by the afternoon. James Olsen had even come to see her because of it.
Lewis replied, “It went down last night.”
He also glanced at Ellis’s car and suddenly grew curious. Would Mary Davis ultimately forgive Ellis?
Lost in thought, they arrived at the mall.
Clance’s largest luxury shopping center, located within the third ring, had an underground parking lot bustling with luxury cars.
After parking their car, they went upstairs together.
Lewis kept an eye on Kiera, trying to discern from her occasional comments whether she knew his birthday was the day after tomorrow.
Unfortunately, she seemed utterly disinterested while shopping, showing no other apparent reactions.
So, Lewis decided to stop guessing and quietly awaited the final surprise!
Kiera shopped without much aim, peeking inside any store that piqued her interest. After a whole round, she did end up buying two hair clips for Amy.
However, she herself didn’t seem inclined toward anything in particular.
And then they wandered into the Cartier boutique…
Surely there should be something here to give him, like cufflinks…
With this in mind, Lewis saw Kiera casually browse before she lost interest and headed for the exit.
Lewis: ?
He immediately pulled Kiera back. “…Don’t you see anything you like?”
“It’s all jewelry here, and after looking around, I don’t really find anything appealing.”
Kiera replied, then added, “I don’t like wearing jewelry usually. I find it somewhat troublesome.”
Lewis: ??
So, Kiera really didn’t plan on buying anything for herself?
It seemed her shopping trip today was just that, a shopping trip!
Lewis’s lips twitched slightly, a touch of frustration coloring his expression, when he was about to say something else, a voice came over: “Bring me all the jewelry suitable for young ladies here, all kinds of styles, in this size, every one of them!”
Kiera turned her head and saw Austin Gill shopping with a manager. He handed over a bank card after his empty-handed declaration: “Pack it all up and send it to my house.”
The manager was overjoyed but still asked, “Mr. Gill, who are these for? Has she bought any new items from our store this year? We wouldn’t want to duplicate purchases.”
Austin replied, “It’s for my little sister! She doesn’t have any jewelry, so there won’t be any duplicates!”
The manager was instantly delighted: “You found your sister?”
Austin nodded immediately, the usually unyielding man now seemed a bit anxious: “Manager, do you think my sister would like these?”
The manager reassured him: “Girls definitely like jewelry.”
Austin nodded, “Right, they all like it. Okay, package these up, and I’ll go upstairs to pick out some clothes for her.”
After Austin finished speaking and turned to leave, he caught sight of Kiera and Lewis.
When locking eyes with Lewis’s stern face, Austin was suddenly reminded of the pain inflicted upon him in the past and his expression soured: “Miss Olsen, are you out shopping with a gigolo?”
Kiera raised her eyebrows.
Lewis remained silent, just looking at him.
Under his gaze, Austin coughed and then stepped forward, saying, “Miss Olsen, um, I’m only saying this because you saved my sister, but you’d better break up with this gigolo soon!”
Kiera asked, “Why?”
Austin sneered, “Aren’t you engaged to the Horton Family? This gigolo might be ruthless, but how can he possibly compete with Lewis Horton! You’re probably just toying with him, right? Better break it off soon to avoid embarrassing the Hortons…”
As soon as these words fell, Kiera laughed dryly, “Do you know what his name is?”
