How I Accidentally Married a Billionaire -
Chapter 467 - Chapter 467 Chapter 466
Chapter 467: Chapter 466 Chapter 467: Chapter 466 Keira Olsen’s brows furrowed, her eyes shining with intensity.
If her suspicions were correct…
She suddenly turned to Helen, speaking directly, “Aunt Helen, I just remembered something urgent. I need to leave.”
Helen was taken aback, “Keera, you…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Keira had already turned and left quickly.
Lady Gill watched her leave and couldn’t help but let out a sneer. She said coldly to Helen, “Do you see? The younger generation nowadays is quite something. You said you brought her here to apologize, but she didn’t even give me the time of day!”
Helen immediately replied, “Keera is not like that. My younger brother has always been amiable and his daughter is no different! Sister-in-law, are you sure you want to start a feud with the Olsen Family over a Jackson Gill?”
The conflict between the Gill and Olsen families would affect both clans!
Neither would benefit.
The rumors were already flying, suggesting that a war was brewing between the two families. The shares of the Olsen Family were slowly declining, but hadn’t the Gill’s fallen as well?!
Helen clenched her jaw, “Has it really come to this?”
Lady Gill sighed, “As I said, Jackson Gill helped find information about Barbara. I can’t just ignore him. No matter how despicable he is, that favor must be repaid by our first branch.”
Helen sighed, “Sister-in-law, you may not like to hear this, but from beginning to end, the fault lies with Austin Gill and Jackson Gill. I won’t comment on Jackson, but you really should discipline Austin. Otherwise, I don’t know what else could happen! Today I was able to bring Keera here to apologize, and she did it out of respect for me. But if you don’t start disciplining your children… and if Keera encounters them again with her temperament, don’t blame the Olsen Family for not being courteous!”
With that, Helen turned and walked towards the door.
As she reached the entrance, she suddenly stopped, turned back to Lady Gill, “Sister-in-law, there’s one more thing I’m not sure if I should say. Among the girls they’ve been tormenting, there is one named Nara Gill–a pitiful girl. While you defend their bullying of Nara, have you ever considered what kind of life Barbara is living now? Nara is about Barbara’s age. If your Barbara were to encounter a family like yours, can you imagine how desperate she’d be?”
Lady Gill sat up sharply in reaction to this statement.
Her jaw tensed as she stared at Helen as if the words just spoken were a wicked curse.
Helen sighed, “Have empathy. Even if it’s for Barbara’s sake, you should try to accumulate some good karma for yourself.”
Lady Gill clenched her fists tightly and scoffed, “How can that lowly person compare to my Barbara?! Don’t scare me with your nonsense!”
Helen shook her head slightly, “I know, Barbara was kidnapped by poor people years ago, which is why you’ve always despised the poor thinking they have an inherent bad nature. That’s why you’ve turned a blind eye to Austin and Jackson’s mistreatment of them. But it’s not the poor who are at fault–it’s the kidnappers! Sister-in-law, you really…”
“You need not say any more,” Lady Gill sneered, “For money, those poor people will stoop to anything. Why would you make excuses for them here?! If they had any principles, how could they possibly kidnap another family’s child?”
Lady Gill’s voice was strained as she roared, revealing the fear her statement elicited.
For so many years, she had never let go of the matter–Barbara’s kidnapping was the greatest wound and pain in her heart!
Helen saw her like this and knew it was useless to say more. She sighed quietly and left.
She had seen her sister-in-law’s stubbornness many times over the years.
The Gill family used to participate in charity funds, but for years now, her sister-in-law refused even the facade.
“Why should I support these poor people?” she scoffed, “Isn’t their poverty due to their own laziness? At their core, they’re all rotten, devoid of kindness–they might as well live like animals!”
With that thought, Helen made her way to the parking lot.
…
After Keira Olsen left the Gill’s residence, she hailed a taxi and went straight to Nara’s home.
Unfortunately, neither Nara nor Matias were in. She called Matias, “Where are you?”
Matias replied, “I’m on my way home.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you,” Keira responded slowly.
In less than ten minutes, Matias returned, limping.
Keira immediately checked behind him and asked, “Where’s Nara?”
Matias answered, “She went to the market. We ran into some good fortune today–Nora Research Institute has employed her. We decided to make something delicious tonight to celebrate! She heard that you were here and went to buy chicken wings. Nara’s cola chicken wings are exceptional! She definitely wanted you to have a taste!”
Hearing Matias’ light-hearted words, Keira felt happy for them but did not forget the purpose of her visit. She took out her phone, showed Matias the jade pendant advertisement the Gill family had placed, and asked, “Do you recognize this pendant?”
Matias glanced at it and was briefly stunned, “Isn’t that Nara’s?”
