How I Accidentally Married a Billionaire -
Chapter 463 - Chapter 463 Chapter 462
Chapter 463: Chapter 462 Chapter 463: Chapter 462 Keira Olsen was slightly startled when she heard what Nara Gill said.
Matias Gill immediately asked, “What jade?”
Nara Gill cast her eyes downwards.
Keira was about to say something when Nara quickly took out her phone and typed a message to her, “Keera, I lost that piece of jade.”
Keira was taken aback, “You lost it?”
Nara nodded, “Yeah.”
Keira frowned, “Alright then.”
After she and Lewis Horton sent Matias and Nara back home, they left.
Matias looked at Nara and suddenly asked, “Nara, that jade was left to you by a family member you were searching for. How could you lose it? And it was right under your pillow. Why are you lying?”
Nara kept her gaze low and gestured with her hands, “Big brother, I found them.”
Matias’s eyes lit up, “Where? Are they very rich? They must be rich if they could pay for all those ads to find you… Nara, once you’re with them, you’ll have a good life!”
But to his surprise, Nara’s eyes began to well up with tears.
Matias was taken aback, “Nara, what’s wrong?”
Nara gestured, “Big brother, are you trying to send me away?”
Matias immediately waved his hands, “No, that’s not what I meant. I just think you could have a better life…”
Nara continued signing, “Staying with you, I’m willing to endure even the toughest days.”
But Matias said, “But your family has been searching for you everywhere, they must love you too! Nara, you…”
Nara suddenly cried out “Ah! Ah!” twice, then with tears rimming her eyes, she continued signing at Matias, “I don’t want that kind of relative; they are all bad people!”
They treated human life with utter disregard!
They made her sick!
But sign language couldn’t express all these words; she could only simply convey her disgust.
Matias immediately said, “Alright, alright, I won’t say anymore… I’ll stop talking, don’t get worked up…”
With her eyes brimming with tears, Nara went into her room, locked herself inside, and started crying, clutching her legs.
How could she have such detestable relatives…
Especially Jackson Gill, supposedly her cousin, who tried to assault her and even broke her brother’s leg!
And Austin Gill…
He was the very same brother who had been so affectionate with her when she was young, but now he had turned disgustingly vile.
She would never forgive them, never!
Nara cried as she pulled out the piece of jade from under her pillow and threw it fiercely into the trash can.
Right after tossing it, she felt something was amiss and took it out for a look. She noticed that the quality of the jade seemed odd; it was different from before…
She had grown accustomed to the appearance and warmth of this jade since she was young.
She had even nourished it until it radiated warmth.
Nara held the jade in her hand, inspecting it, and then suddenly realized that it had been switched!
This wasn’t her original jade…
Her eyes widened as she suddenly understood what had happened…
It must have been Jackson Gill…
Certainly, Jackson Gill had hidden her real jade and replaced it with a fake…
Did he think she wanted to return to that family?
Nara gripped the jade tightly and then threw it back into the trash bin.
She lowered her eyes, and after a moment, she stepped out the door to find Matias.
Having seen his sister’s emotional upheaval, Matias was somewhat panicked. Seeing her come out, he immediately stepped forward, “Sister, are you okay?”
Nara Gill stared at him intently, gesturing with her hands. “Brother, let’s move to a different city to live.”
Matias Gill was startled. “But, your university is here…”
Nara continued using sign language, “I’m dropping out of university. With the Gill family around, do you think they’ll let me graduate?”
Matias fell silent.
Nara went on gesturing, “Brother, I can’t find a job in Clance, I won’t graduate, might as well leave this heartbreaking place.”
She didn’t want to be so close to that family…
She wanted to escape them, to make sure they would never find her!
Matias then spoke up, “Didn’t Keera say today? You should try interviewing at Nora Research Institute. If it really is a sham, and you don’t get the job, we’ll leave.”
Nara nodded in agreement.
Neither of them noticed that outside the door, someone was stealthily watching them.
This person was sent by Jackson Gill specifically to supervise the siblings and knew some sign language; therefore, he understood what Nara was conveying.
He picked up his phone and called Jackson Gill, “Mr. Gill, Nara Gill said she’s going to interview at Nora Research Institute tomorrow. If she doesn’t get the job, she’s planning to leave Clance and never return!”
Jackson Gill sneered, “How nice, then set up an ambush on their way out and deal with both of them! Make sure they can never return!”
“Yes!”
After the subordinate responded, he hung up the call.
Time quickly advanced to the next day.
When Nara woke up, her mood had significantly improved compared to before.
Matias carefully observed her expression and, seeing no additional concerns, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, he grabbed his cane and followed her with a limp, “Let’s go, off to the interview!”
Nara spoke, “I can go by myself, you should rest at home, brother.”
But Matias shook his head, “This matter indeed seems too bizarre, so I’ll accompany you! In case of danger, at least I’m a man.”
Nara paused before agreeing, “Okay.”
They took a bus and arrived at the entrance of the Nora Research Institute.
There they stood outside, staring quietly at the grand and peaceful courtyard, not even daring to breathe too loudly.
In Clance, land was worth its weight in gold, yet the Nora Research Institute had such a large yard here, which was truly astounding.
They approached the security guard post.
Nara didn’t even dare to ask.
It was the security guard who asked them first, “What’s the purpose of your visit?”
Matias swallowed nervously, “We, we’ve come for an interview…”
The guard paused, “An interview? Do you have a notification letter? Show it to me…”
Matias nudged Nara Gill.
Nara immediately took out her phone, opened WhatsApp, and handed it to him.
The security guard looked at it and immediately frowned.
Then he looked up and scrutinized Nara and Matias, his eyes filled with doubt.
Matias asked anxiously, “Is there something wrong with this message? We were also deceived–it’s just that we didn’t know if it was genuine, so we came to try it out. Sorry for the trouble…”
He was about to bow apologetically.
From a distance.
The person who had been following the two called Jackson Gill, “Hahaha, they were stopped at the security post! Mr. Gill, your prediction was spot on!”
Jackson Gill scoffed, “A mute and a university student thinking they could get into the Nora Research Institute? That’s a fool’s dream!”
Almost as soon as these words were uttered, the security guard reached out and steadied Matias Gill’s arm!
