Chapter 700 - 11: Slaying the Demon

Chapter 700: Chapter 11: Slaying the Demon

The mist over Suyuan Mountain was dense. Klein Faust stared at the gradually vanishing Eden Hotel before him, the hem of his white coat rustling in the mountain wind. His knuckles were white, and Lelia’s blood—his sister’s blood—still stained his palm.

Virgil’s betrayal felt like a rusty iron nail, deeply embedded in his skull, causing a dull ache with every breath. Compared to that, his sister’s death was nothing. He had already been looking for an opportunity to get rid of her.

"Virgil... Dai Lin..." He muttered these names, his teeth grinding with hatred.

The Eden Hotel had collapsed, and Pandora’s Eye had been taken by Dai Lin. But Suyuan Mountain—a mountain range surrounding the hotel, an almost fully devoured hunting ground by the High-dimensional Abyss. Here, he could start over.

"Doctor Jin." Klein didn’t turn around, his voice cold as a scalpel slicing through ice.

A tall figure approached slowly from behind. Jin Xiuxian’s white coat was spotless, his gold-rimmed glasses glinting, and a sweet, unsettling smile playing on his lips.

"Lord Klein, you summoned me?"

Klein finally turned around, scrutinizing the Netherworld Department doctor from South Korea. Jin Xiuxian looked young, his skin so pale it was almost translucent, with faint blue-purple finger marks around his neck—a mark left by a Resentful Spirit, which he had turned into an ornament with a Cursed Object.

"Only Dai Lin, who isn’t a resident, can carry Pandora’s Eye." Klein said concisely, "The Blood Letter doesn’t allow residents to win easily for balance, so they won’t escape Suyuan Mountain for now."

Jin Xiuxian’s smile widened, revealing unnaturally aligned teeth, "Ah, I heard his Devil’s Eye is Sixth Level...". His fingers unconsciously caressed a small glass vial hanging from his neck, the dark hair inside writhing.

Klein’s gaze fell on the vial, knowing its contents—Jin Seline, a female patient driven to death and refined into a Ghost Slave by the pedophilic Jin Xiuxian. Even others at 666 Hospital found his perverseness disturbing. He seduced female patients under 18, ceasing treatment once they came of age, subjecting them to a series of pointless exams, burdening them with fatal Dark Soul Points.

"I need you to catch up to them. You’re my best Hunter." Klein pulled a black coin from his pocket, engraved with a weeping eye, "Take this. It can temporarily suppress Dai Lin’s Devil’s Eye."

Jin Xiuxian took the coin, gently stroking the engraved patterns with his fingertips, "You’re so generous, even giving me a Cursed Object... Any restrictions?"

"Bring Dai Lin back alive, if possible," Klein’s voice was steady, "The others... do as you see fit."

Moonlight peeked through the clouds, illuminating Jin Xiuxian’s face, his pupils contracting to pinpoints, "Too bad those are all adult female doctors, not my type."

Klein disregarded the pervert’s words, "Move quickly!"

Jin Xiuxian bowed gracefully, turned, and walked into the forest. His white coat turned transparent in the darkness before vanishing completely, with only the faint green glow from the glass vial remaining.

Klein stood, listening to the sound of the wind passing through the trees. He knew Jin Xiuxian was a madman, but because of this, he was the best Hunter. An amoral pervert, completely controlling a Resentful Spirit—such a combination would make Dai Lin and his party pay.

Soft sounds came from the mist, Klein’s pupils shifted slightly. He saw a blurred figure standing under a nearby tree—Virgil. His brother-in-law stood silently, his right eye also glowing blue.

They stared at each other through the dense mist, neither speaking first.

Eventually, Virgil turned and walked away, disappearing into the forest. Klein didn’t follow. He knew the game had just begun. The fog covering Suyuan Mountain still hid many secrets.

And all he had to do was wait for the prey to fall into his trap.

The fog lingered in the dense forest of Suyuan Mountain, winding around each tree like a living entity. Alucia Faust stepped on the damp leaves, her gait light as a cat.

"Aluga, slow down," came the deep voice of Dai Wei from behind. He followed closely, gripping a short knife inscribed with Spells.

"No time," Aluga didn’t look back, her voice low, "We seized the opportunity to escape from the reserve team at the foot of the mountain. We must reunite with Dai Lin as soon as possible."

Dai Wei’s knuckles whitened slightly, "But how will we..."

Aluga suddenly stopped, turning to stare at him, "I never thought I’d have a chance to kill one of Klein’s doctors, and it’s one I loathe the most."

A cold smile tugged at her lips, "That LPT, Jin Xiuxian."

Aluga raised her hand, a blood-colored rune appearing on her palm—a Cursed Object called Blood Tracking Spell, capable of sensing malice within a certain range, identifying its source, and tracking its location.

"He’s ahead," she squinted, "And that bastard is Klein’s best Hunter. Now is the perfect chance to kill him."

...

Jin Xiuxian hummed a tune, strolling through the dense forest. His white coat spotless, contrasting with the damp, gloomy forest. The glass vial at his neck swayed slightly, the dark hair inside writhing.

"Seline..." he whispered, tapping the vial with his fingertip, "We will meet our prey soon. Are you happy?"

The dark hair inside the vial churned violently, a blurred woman’s face appearing on the vial’s surface, silently screaming.

Jin Xiuxian laughed, "Don’t get too excited..."

He abruptly stopped.

In the mist ahead, a woman stood—short-haired, purple-eyed, wielding a slender Curse Blade.

"Ah..." Jin Xiuxian’s smile widened, "Isn’t this the little princess of the Faust family?"

Aluga’s eyes were filled with killing intent, "Jin Xiuxian, your life ends today."

Jin Xiuxian pretended to be shocked, covering his chest, "So fierce? But I’m your brother’s trusted subordinate."

"Shut up," Aluga’s Curse Blade glowed blood-red, "Killing you will cripple him."

Jin Xiuxian tilted his head, his glasses reflecting cold light.

Aluga wasted no more words, her figure darted forward like a ghost, the Curse Blade striking at Jin Xiuxian’s throat!

"Clang—!"

A black shadow suddenly materialized before Jin Xiuxian—Jin Seline’s Resentful Spirit, its pale arm blocking the blade, its dark nails clashing with the blade, creating a sharp spark.

"So impatient." Jin Xiuxian took a step back, still smiling, "Seline, play with her."

The Resentful Spirit let out a shrill scream, its long hair coiling toward Aluga like serpents!

As Aluga struggled with the Resentful Spirit, a dark shadow struck from the side—Dai Wei’s short knife accurately stabbed towards Jin Xiuxian’s back!

"Thud!"

The sound of a blade sinking into flesh echoed, but Jin Xiuxian’s figure dispersed like smoke.

"An illusion?" Dai Wei’s pupils contracted.

"Correct~" Jin Xiuxian’s voice came from above.

Dai Wei looked up to see Jin Xiuxian standing on a branch, looking down at him, his smile growing more twisted, "You two are so in sync, even in ambushes."

Aluga cursed, sweeping her Curse Blade, forcing back the Resentful Spirit before leaping to Dai Wei’s side, "Be careful! His Cursed Object can create illusions!"

Jin Xiuxian landed softly, patting nonexistent dust off his white coat, then slowly removed his glasses, revealing all-black pupils—the scars from the Resentful Spirit’s backlash.

"Seline," he whispered, "Kill them."

The Resentful Spirit’s body abruptly expanded, its dark hair spreading like a tidal wave, cloaking the entire forest in ghostly gloom!

"Dai Wei! Close your eyes!" Aluga suddenly shouted.

Without hesitation, Dai Wei closed his eyes.

In the next moment, Aluga’s Curse Blade pierced her own palm, blood flowing along the blade, followed by—

"Blood Curse·Break Illusion!"

Scarlet light erupted, shattering Jin Xiuxian’s illusions like glass! The real him stood three meters away, his expression shifting, "You can see through it?"

Aluga sneered, "Your illusions don’t work on me."

She sprinted forward again, her Curse Blade aimed directly at Jin Xiuxian’s heart!

Jin Xiuxian hastily retreated, but Dai Wei had already circled behind him, slashing with his short knife!

"Slash—!"

The blade cut across Jin Xiuxian’s back, blood splattering.

"Aaaah—!" Jin Xiuxian finally lost his composure, his face contorting, "You... damn it!"

He yanked off the vial around his neck and smashed it to the ground!

"Seline!! Devour them!!"

As the vial shattered, the Resentful Spirit went berserk, dark ghostly energy bursting forth like a tsunami!

Aluga and Dai Wei were forced back a few steps, but her gaze remained cold.

"Dai Wei, hold off the ghost," she said softly, "Three seconds."

Dai Wei nodded, the Spells on his short knife glowing as he faced the Resentful Spirit head-on!

Aluga once again slashed her hand, blood dripping to the ground, forming a strange rune.

"Blood Curse·Lock Soul!"

Countless blood-red chains shot out from the ground, instantly binding Jin Xiuxian’s limbs!

"What?!" Jin Xiuxian struggled, but the chains tightened even more, "How... how do you know this?!"

Aluga walked closer, pressing her Curse Blade to his throat, "Because, unlike you scum... I’ve seen real Hell."

A flash of the blade.

Jin Xiuxian’s pupils contracted, his throat slit open, blood gushing out.

His body convulsed, his lips twitching, as if trying to say something.

Aluga looked down at him indifferently, "Repent in Hell."

With Jin Xiuxian’s death, the Resentful Spirit Jin Seline’s form began to disintegrate. Her face became clear, blood tears streaming from her eyes, but there was a look of gratitude as she gazed at Aluga.

Finally, her figure dissolved like mist.

Dai Wei approached Aluga, whispering, "It’s done."

Aluga sheathed her Curse Blade, looking towards the depths of the forest, "Now, we must find Dai Lin."

The fog remained thick.

But the roles of Hunter and prey were quietly beginning to reverse.
