Hospital 444
Chapter 698 - 9: Dimensional Descent Spatial Curse Item

Chapter 698: Chapter 9: Dimensional Descent Spatial Curse Item

The elevator doors opened.

The humid musty smell was suddenly replaced by a pungent scent of preservatives. Gao Menghua’s pupils contracted sharply—as shadows of over a dozen figures wearing fully enclosed yellow biohazard suits silently emerged on both sides of the corridor, the lenses of their gas masks a pitch-black void.

And bizarrely, there were ID badges on their biohazard suits!

"666 Hospital!" Ying Ziye’s fingers pressed against her temple, causing the Brain Marrow Spirit Curse within her skull to shudder. "They are our enemies!"

The skin under Gao Menghua’s arms became metallic, and the restructuring of her bones produced a teeth-grinding creak. In 0.3 seconds, her hands had mutated into two elongated spiritual energy firearms with red vein-like patterns naturally growing on the barrels.

"Detecting contaminated Paranormal Doctor," the leader of the figures in biohazard suits raised a gloved hand, his voice turning mechanical and cold through the filter, "Start purging the contamination."

The moment the last word fell, Gao Menghua opened fire. The bullet that once killed Yin Wuque traced an eerie blue trajectory, striking the speaker squarely between the eyes. The goggles of the gas mask shattered, revealing not flesh and blood but a continuously rotating two-dimensional plane—like the edge of torn paper.

"What is this? Not a three-dimensional life form!"

Due to Doctor Jiang’s influence, Gao Menghua had extensive research experience in Spatial Curse Items.

"Deploy the Cursed Object 2D Erasure, commence purging."

The biohazard suited figures emitted an eerie sound.

Immediately after, black threads shot out from their hands. The threads penetrated the walls as if slicing through butter.

Ying Ziye’s temples throbbed, and the Brain Marrow Spirit Curse activated to its fullest. The three nearest biohazard suited figures froze suddenly, the dimension under their masks twisting violently.

"Their brains seem to have a QR code structure?" Xia Li’s voice was filled with disbelief, "These are merely ’paper skins’!"

Gao Menghua suddenly stood before Ziye, her left-hand firearm transforming into a rectangular shield to block a black thread aimed at Ying Ziye. She shouted, "Watch out for the threads! It’s a dimensional reduction attack! This is a type of Spatial Curse Item!!!"

Gao Menghua knelt on one knee, the muzzle of her right-hand firearm gathering a blinding white light. At the moment of firing, the entire corridor lit up, and the bullet penetrated the chests of five biohazard-suited figures straight through.

The struck figures deflated like punctured balloons, horrifyingly, the edges of their two-dimensional wounds wriggled, new "paper" growing from the void to rapidly mend the damage. In less than three seconds, the five enemies were as good as new.

"Regeneration!" Gao Menghua cursed, the firearm in her hands disassembled, recombining into two scalpels. A biohazard-suited figure lunged at her, and she spun to slice its neck. The head flew up, but in the air, it 2D-ified, turning into a falling "paper cut-out," while the headless body continued its attack, the rubber gloves suddenly tearing to reveal dozens of pencil-thick black needles.

Ying Ziye’s Spiritual Shock arrived just in time, momentarily freezing the headless figure. Gao Menghua seized the opportunity, her left leg transforming into a blade whip to bisect the enemy at the waist. The separated suit still moved, each half growing new two-dimensional connecting tissue.

"Useless! They can’t be killed!" Xia Li suddenly pressed his hand against the wall, "Fix the dimensional anchor! Prepare to move!"

The corridor wall twisted like crumpled paper by an invisible hand. Gao Menghua felt intense dizziness; as her vision cleared, the three of them stood in a spherical hall, the surrounding walls covered with ever-changing hotel room doors.

"Short-distance dimensional jump," Xia Li explained, gasping for breath, his hands glowing with numerous runes, half of which began to fade, "They’ve polluted this space with high-dimensional energy; conventional attacks are ineffective."

These runes were written in a high-level technique, a type of Spatial Curse Item.

Ying Ziye suddenly collapsed, clutching her head, as Brain Marrow Spirit Curse’s overuse resulted in a nosebleed: "Captured fragments... 666 Hospital is also searching for the High-dimensional Demon Curse."

Gao Menghua’s arm returned to normal, blue veins like spiderwebs remaining under her skin: "Our enemy is more terrible than we imagined. At least for now, doctors from 666 Hospital attacking residents are not affected in the slightest."

A thunderous noise erupted from every direction as the six doors in the spherical hall simultaneously burst open. Biohazard-suited figures flooded in, now armed with bizarre instruments—like scissors woven from light, scalpels flowing with the Milky Way, and syringes that screamed continuously.

"Surrounded," Xia Li’s palm started to crack, "One more jump, and my Cursed Object will—"

Before he could finish, Gao Menghua abruptly tore off her white coat. Embedded in the center of her chest was a throbbing purple crystal, emitting a blinding light.

"Full Armor Release," her voice turned inhuman, resonating metallically, "Spiritual Body Mutation, Cursed Object Full Release."

Her body exploded with transformation, reassembling in an instant. She now stood as a three-meter-tall metallic skeleton, each bone embedded with different weapon systems. Her spine was a launch rack, rotating cannons hung between her ribs, and high-frequency vibrational blades extended from her finger bones.

The sight left everyone dumbstruck; such was the power of Hospital 444’s strongest top surgeon!

"Give me ten seconds," the metallic skeleton roared, all weapon systems beginning to charge.

Ying Ziye, suppressing her headache, stood up and pressed her temples: "I’ll create an illusion barrier."

Blood began to trickle from her eyes as a translucent wave radiated from her, confusing the biohazard-suited figures. Some started attacking their companions, others swinging instruments at empty air.

Gritting his teeth, Xia Li continued to activate the runes on his hands, forming a complex geometric pattern in the air: "Dimension Cage!" The fragmented pattern emitted a blinding golden light, temporarily trapping most of the biohazard-suited figures in a two-dimensional plane.

Xia Li was a special being, originally a two-dimensional creature from a manga, thus more capable of bearing the stresses of such dimensional curse items compared to three-dimensional beings.

Gao Menghua’s full weapon mode completed its charge. In the next instant, the entire spherical hall was engulfed in explosive flashes. Demon Exorcism Bullets, Spiritual Radiation and countless unnamed weapons fired simultaneously, tearing the biohazard-suited figures to shreds. The edges of the two-dimensional wounds couldn’t regenerate fast enough before being evaporated by even greater firepower.

When the smoke cleared, the hall appeared devastated. The walls were covered with writhing two-dimensional wounds, and dozens of deflated biohazard suits littered the floor like the shells of squashed insects.

Gao Menghua disengaged the armed form, staggering to her knees, the crystal on her chest dimming. Ying Ziye collapsed, blood seeping from all seven apertures. Only Xia Li remained standing, but the expenditure on the Dimension Cage left him looking twenty years older.

"Is it over?" Gao Menghua panted.

Just as Xia Li was about to answer, his eyes widened. The deflated biohazard suits on the floor began to wriggle, inflating as if filled by invisible hands. More terrifyingly, new biohazard suits emerged from the two-dimensional wounds on the walls—stepping out from the images into reality.

"Run!" Xia Li grabbed the unconscious Ying Ziye, "To the elevator! It may be a dimensional node!"

Gao Menghua struggled to keep up, looking back to see the revived biohazard suits not chasing them, but standing in two neat lines, as if welcoming something. The ceiling of the spherical hall suddenly split open, and an ambulance drove in. A towering figure over two meters tall, clad in crimson biohazard armor, slowly descended from it.

"Deputy Chief, the contamination is over there. Please, eliminate it."

The Deputy Chief of the Department of Cursed Objects at 666 Hospital??

Ying Ziye suddenly awakened, weakly saying, "The Brain Marrow Spirit Curse revealed... it is a projection of a high-dimensional being in the three-dimensional world..."

The three rushed into the elevator, Xia Li frantically pressing the close button, just barely managing to shut the door before the crimson-suited figure reached them.

The elevator began to descend, but the display screen’s numbers jumped erratically: 3... 7... 12... ∞...

"Dimensional disorder has intensified," Xia Li examined Ying Ziye’s injuries, "We need to revise our plan."

Gao Menghua watched her trembling hands, noting occasional metallic glints under her skin: "666 Hospital has outpaced us. If they obtain the Demon Curse Item..."

The elevator abruptly halted. When its doors opened, instead of revealing another floor, there was an infinitely stretching corridor lined with gas masks, each one oozing blood.

Ying Ziye barely managed to stand, wiping the blood from her face, "The Brain Marrow Spirit Curse senses... this corridor leads to an unspeakable high-dimensional presence... it’s..."

Xia Li attempted to summon a dimensional rift, but could only elicit a few faint sparks: "Blocked. Higher dimensional rules are at play."

Gao Menghua’s arm once again morphed into a firearm, though the transformation was notably slower: "Then we’ll fight our way out. My Cursed Object can support one more full armor release."

The moment the three stepped into the corridor, the elevator silently vanished behind them.
