Chapter 98
On the plain white table, there were several snacks, all famous dishes from roadside stalls at the night market, exuding a delicious aroma.
She glanced at Alexander Foster beside her, "Did you buy these?"
The man looked down, his eyes gazing deeply at her, as if lost in thought. Then he walked to the dining table and picked up some noodles with a pair of chopsticks, saying indifferently, "Robert loves this, so I bought extra."
"Then how did you know... these are also my favorites?"
Alexander’s back slightly stiffened. He looked back and saw the girl standing there, her eyes laughing as she looked at him, her gaze filled with a teasing meaning.
But it didn’t seem annoying. Instead, it was pleasing to the eye.
He slightly knitted his brows and lowered his eyes, still picking up the noodles, and casually replied, "Intuition."
Chloe Collins slowly walked up to him, took a bite of a pancake and said, "Your intuition is pretty accurate."
Alexander Foster cast a sideways glance at her, and saw the satisfied look in her eyes when she saw the delicious food−her cheeks moving as she chewed, her lips... gleaming and moist.
"Ah - stir-fried noodles! Grilled meat! Spicy hotpot! And even milk tea! Brother, did you change your sex?!" Robert shouted as he ran over.
Alexander saw his brother’s hand reaching for the milk tea, and his chopsticks quickly, accurately, and ruthlessly clamped onto his wrist.
Robert was startled and looked up at his older brother, "I want to drink."
Alexander: "What kind of man drinks milk tea? Go study."
This response was cold and indifferent, lacking compassion.
Robert pouted, "You bought so much, how does my having a little bit matter? Chloe Collins can’t finish it all by herself."
Chloe, standing nearby, glanced at the two brothers and softly said, "Just let him have some. There’s no need to divide milk tea between boys and girls."
Alexander looked at her and then released the chopsticks.
Robert shook his slightly painful wrist, "See? Chloe Collins is younger than you but her way of thinking is so much more open-minded. You can be more old-fashioned than mom and dad at times."
As he spoke, he inserted the straw into the milk tea and took a sip, his face filled with satisfaction.
"These things are really delicious."
Having finished his exclamation, he opened his eyes to see his elder brother staring at Chloe Collins unblinkingly as she walked out into the courtyard.
Robert couldn’t help but wave his hand in front of his brother’s eyes, "Bro, what are you looking at?"
Alexander’s gaze returned, but he said nothing.
Robert slowly smiled, his eyes seemingly understanding something and filled with teasing, "Just now, when I came out, the way you looked at Chloe Collins was very strange."
Alexander was indifferent, "What do you want to say?"
"Nothing, I just find it strange that when you looked at her, it was as if you blocked out everything else in the world and only saw her. And, you were very gentle."
"Also, I noticed that since Chloe Collins arrived, the route you take when you walk the dog has changed. Every time you walk the dog, you follow her route..." He raised his eyebrows and vigorously teased.
As he spoke, he shut his mouth. He was most afraid of his elder brother staring at him in this quiet manner, as if he were about to sell him off.
His scalp gradually tingled.
He thought his elder brother would coldly scold him and call him a nuisance. However, upon hearing this, his brother didn’t unconsciously refute him.
Instead, he pondered for a second and then looked out into the courtyard again.
Robert was dumbfounded, "Bro, you couldn’t possibly..."
"Go study."
This cold, chilly sentence was thrown at him, so Robert obediently went back to his room.
Alexander walked to the doorway, quietly watching the girl standing under the moonlight not far away. When he looked at her, he couldn’t take his eyes off.
At this moment, it was as if the icy mountain had encountered warm sunlight, three thousand points of coldness dissipating, and ten thousand rays of light descending.
