Not long after the voice was heard, the door opened, and Mrs. Willis walked out with a bundle of papers in her hand, followed by Mr. Willis. They were walking a little fast.

When they came in front of her, Mr. Willis smiled and said, "We were just being rude to you, please accept our apology, child. Don’t take it to heart."

Mrs. Willis looked very uncomfortable. After quickly saying "Sorry," she left with her husband.

The next second, Alexander Foster walked out of the conference room.

As his tall and straight figure appeared in her vision, Chloe Collins’s calm gaze met his deep and quiet eyes.

Just for that instant, her face showed a second of unease. She faintly turned her face away and gazed at the pine trees outside.

That fragrant scent gradually approached her.

Eventually, she could feel her whole body being enveloped by his unique aura.

"How much longer till school is out?" A deep voice asked.

"Not going, go home."

With that, he left.

After taking two steps, he sensed that the person behind him didn’t follow, so he stopped.

He glanced sideways and saw the still figure of the girl leaning against the railing.

"Are you going to walk me?"

Alexander Foster showed no expression. "Aunt Evelyn’s orders."

"Oh, in that case, you can go on ahead, I’ll just talk to her later."

The man’s chiseled eyes showed a trace of displeasure. "Go get your backpack."

Without waiting for Chloe’s response, he strode forward.

Chloe watched his retreating figure and followed a second later.

The two arrived at the Class 18 doorway, where the students were inside reviewing their lessons, and the teacher was sitting on the stage reading a book.

He stood at the doorway, watching her go in to get her things.

As soon as she pulled open the drawer, a stack of things fell out, a bunch of love letters and small gifts.

Chloe picked up one of the small items and examined it for a moment before putting it into her pocket. Then, she took her backpack and walked out.

The man frowned.

"Let’s go." She said, walking past him.

Alexander Foster’s gaze lingered on her jacket pocket for a few seconds.

Then he saw her take out her phone and look at a message.

He didn’t mean to peek, but the height difference just happened to make it visible -

He looked away, his eyes darker than before.

It wasn’t long before Chloe turned back to him and said, "I have something to do last-minute; you go first."

The man’s lips moved, but he stopped himself from speaking.

Then, he just said a faint "Mm."

They parted ways at the school gate.

Alexander Foster watched the girl walk lightly in the opposite direction, and suddenly felt a little bitter inside.

An inexplicable feeling attacked his heart.
