She took a step forward and grabbed his arm: "How did you get hurt?"

"Oh, right, your house was broken into." Robert Foster said quickly, gently prying her hand away and turning to face another direction, avoiding her gaze.

Wanda’s hand was empty, and so was her heart.

She pursed her lips: "I’m sorry for lying to you."

Upon hearing this, Robert widened his eyes: "You don’t have to apologize to me. No need at all."

At this moment, he had already turned to face her again.

Seeing his expression, Wanda slowly smiled.

Robert let out a dry laugh, not knowing what else to say.

The weak street light illuminated his suddenly reddened ear tips.

Robert furrowed his brow: "That serious?"

Chloe asked, "You said you’ve seen someone like Wanda when you were a child?"
