Chapter 638
Robin originally thought that Shelby would throw a big tantrum, but to her surprise, the other party was quiet and calm. Shelby didn’t eat, but everything else was fine.
She sat quietly by herself, asking them not to disturb her unless Miles White came and informed her.
Robin didn’t know what had happened to her, but as it was getting late, she contacted Robert Foster to ask about the situation.
Robert was quite surprised when he received the call: "You guys are here?"
Robin smiled and said: "Yes, we are at the doorway, wanting to see Miles."
"That’s really unfortunate, she’s gone out and won’t be back today. You guys can come another day.""
"Oh."
Robin hung up the phone and looked at Shelby: "Shelby, Miles won’t be back today, let’s go back first."
But Shelby said, "Wait a bit more."
"Huh?" Robin was puzzled.
Shelby looked at the main gate, her eyes filled with an indescribable determination: "Just wait a bit more."
Robin couldn’t help but feel puzzled; this wasn’t something Shelby would normally do.
Usually, if someone kept her waiting for five minutes, her mood would change, but now she was willing to wait for someone for hours?
Moreover, the other party had already said that they would not be back today.
So they waited until it was dark, but still didn’t see Miles White.
In the meantime, they did see Robert Foster and a girl coming back.
When that girl appeared in their line of sight, Shelby’s previously calm face suddenly showed emotion. She bent over, gazing intently at the girl.
Upon recognizing the girl’s height and body shape, Shelby’s face relaxed, and after thinking for a moment, she said: "Let’s go back."
By this time, Robin had been starving for a while, and hearing this, she happily told the assistant to start the car.
Shelby asked them to take her home without having dinner together.
When they arrived at the Hamiltons’, she walked in quickly.
In the living room, four women were playing cards.
"Mom, I have an urgent matter to discuss with you."
The four women turned their heads.
"Shelby’s back." The others laughed.
Mrs. Hamilton didn’t care much: "Wait until I finish this round of cards, I’m having good luck."
"It’s a big deal." Shelby walked to her side, her face serious.
The other three aunts saw this and put down their cards one after another, especially the one who was losing the round, dropped her cards faster than anyone else.
"In that case, Mrs. Hamilton, let’s play again tomorrow."
"Yes, we should go home and have dinner, we can play again tomorrow."
Before long, the three ladies all left.
Mrs. Hamilton looked at the good cards in her hand, and sighed in regret, "What is it that you have to say that’s so urgent? I was just about to win some money."
Shelby sat down, her voice low and dignified: "I saw that bastard come out of the Fosters’ mansion today with my own eyes. The Fourth Young Master even personally held an umbrella for her."
After listening, Mrs. Hamilton’s careless expression changed dramatically, her eyebrows raised: "That richest family... the Fosters?"
"Absolutely sure!"
"How could that bastard have the ability to befriend someone from that family? She has no looks, no skills, it’s strange, absolutely strange!"
Shelby crossed her legs: "I had someone check it out this afternoon. That bastard and Robert Foster are classmates. I’ve had contact with Robert Foster before; he’s simple-minded and easily deceived. That bastard must have used some strange tactics to get Robert to take her to his home."
Mrs. Hamilton was indignant: "The ungrateful bastard, is she trying to climb up the social ladder and show off to us after becoming a phoenix?"
Shelby scoffed: "With her fat and short appearance, who would be interested in her? I’m just astonished at her abilities to establish a relationship with the Fosters."
