Chapter 528
A twitch broke across Chloe Collins’ lips, but she remained silent.
Robert Foster: "You mustn’t laugh."
Alexander Foster: "Hmm?"
Robert offered Chloe an apologetic smile and relented. "You can laugh, laugh all you want."
Chloe beckoned him over with a crook of her finger.
Intrigued, Robert leaned in closer, lowering his head.
In a deliberately hushed tone, Chloe teased with a twinkle in her eyes: "You want a car, huh? I have plenty, want one?"
Robert Foster’s eyes lit up.
"Really?"
Chloe flashed a small smile and nodded.
Robert: "Any conditions?"
Chloe slowly shook her head.
Overjoyed, Robert exclaimed, "Then... I’ll take it. When can I borrow it?"
Chloe: "Right now."
Robert: "Hmm?"
Suddenly, something appeared in his hand.
He looked down, only for his face to fall instantly.
He held a five-centimeter long model sports car, his cheek twitching in disappointment.
"Are you messing with me?"
Evelyn Thompson: "Little brothers were born to be teased."
William Foster: "Couldn’t agree more."
Alexander Foster: "It’s an honor for little brother to be played by big sister."
Chloe smirked and strode ahead.
Robert followed the four of them gloomily, suddenly feeling incredibly disheartened and superfluous.

Back at the Foster’s, Alexander rested for the night, and upon waking, went down to the basement.
From a drawer, he pulled out a silver mask and gloves, stripping his wrists of all jewellery. He then sat down in front of the computer.
The computer camera faced a pure white backdrop, keeping his actual location a secret.
He turned on the computer and, after a series of maneuvers, initiated a video call.
In the screen, another figure, similarly masked, slid into a chair.
"Odd, why did you think of contacting me?"
"Didn’t you say that once you’re out, you’d want nothing to do with us?" The other man teased.
The voice had been altered, so it was impossible to know who was speaking.
Alexander bluntly revealed, "I have a question for you."
There seemed to be a smile behind the other’s cold mask.
"You, too, have things you don’t know? Well, shoot."
Alexander went straight to the point: "17 years ago, was there a girl called Chloe Collins on Gate Three’s newcomer list?"
The other man laughed.
"Chloe Collins? What’s your relationship with her?"
Alexander didn’t answer.
The other man shrugged. "You should know, we use codenames in the Dark Alliance. No names mentioned anywhere, therefore no traces left."
Not only did they not use real names, they didn’t use real appearances either.
Most often, they would disguise their faces.
Alex: "Don’t play dumb. Every newcomer had to fill out their information when they first joined. Now that you’re the leader, you have the privilege of accessing that data."
The rule of the Alliance stated that only the leader had the privilege of knowing all the information about his subordinates.
Upon hearing Alexander’s words, the other man couldn’t help but laugh again. "I’m sorry, the new recruits’ files for that year have been destroyed. You left the organization that year, so you wouldn’t know about the subsequent events."
Alex frowned. Coincidentally, it happened in that year?
"With your abilities, it should be easy for you to look up someone’s information, right? Why ask me?"
"It’s faster to ask you."
The other side laughed: "I’m telling the truth, the records have been destroyed."
Alex looked up: "I’ll wait for your news."
"Alright, I’ll give you that much face."
The man then engaged with his computer for a moment before sending off the data he found.
"Here is some of it, but the rest, is really gone. We’re as good as brothers, I have no reason to lie to you."
Alex opened the list and found a few familiar names as he scrolled through it.
