His Wife Calls The Shots -
Chapter 522: What I Bought
Chapter 522: Chapter 522: What I Bought
Chapter 522
Chloe Collins was sipping juice, glancing occasionally at Alexander Foster’s recent updates.
Ever since he left on his business trip, he would periodically post updates, primarily photos.
His timing was always precise, almost like he was giving a report.
He posted an update about boarding the airplane today, and then he disappeared.
"My brother didn’t reply to me. Did he board the plane?" Robert Foster questioned.
Chloe looked puzzled, "Didn’t he post about boarding the plane on his social feed?"
Robert replied, "Hmm? He did? Where?"
Chloe showed him her phone.
Robert was surprised. He compared it with his own phone and then understood, "I see, he made the post visible to you only."
Chloe glanced at him and took back her phone.
"Don’t believe me? Look at my phone and my mother’s. None of us can see it. On my feed, he only shows posts from the past three days, and then, it’s blank," Robert explained, shrugging.
Evelyn Thompson chuckled, "Do you really think you and Chlo-Chlo are the same? Don’t make life hard for yourself."
Chloe clicked on one of Alexander’s photos in his social feed. It was a close-up of a ticket.
It clearly stated that the flight would arrive at the airport tonight at half past nine. By now, he should also be back.
She dialed his number without thinking.
"Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off."
Just as she found it odd, the sound of urgent footsteps echoed from upstairs.
They all turned to look, only to see William Foster, dressed hastily, walking downstairs. He had a look of urgency on his face.
"Honey, what happened? What’s wrong?" Evelyn Thompson asked anxiously.
Chloe and Robert stopped eating and stood up.
William’s face grew serious, "Alex’s plane had an emergency and was forced to land in Corynthia. I need to go check on him."
"An emergency? What happened to Alex? Is he okay? Huh?" Evelyn was frantic and sweating.
Robert’s heart was pounding with fear.
William said, "He was taken to the hospital. I don’t know the details yet. I have to go see."
"Dad, I’m going too!"
"I’ll go too!" Chloe instinctively spoke up.
William said, "You two stay here. Your mom and I will go. Let’s go."
Evelyn hastily put on her clothes and left with her husband.
Robert wanted to follow, but William wouldn’t allow it.
Soon, the Fosters left their home.
Robert was restless, pacing around the living room, trying to contact Alex.
About ten minutes later, she saw Chloe, now dressed, standing in the living room doorway.
She said, "Do you want to come along?"
"Go? Where?"
"To find your brother."
"Huh? But my dad said we shouldn’t go. Also, the family plane is already taken. I just checked the airport for commercial flights, there aren’t any left tonight. We have to wait until tomorrow morning."
Chloe said, "If you want to go, just grab your ID and follow me."
Confused, Robert quickly put on his coat and chased after her.
At the doorway of the Foster’s mansion, Robert entered a car with her and was left in complete bewilderment.
He turned to Chloe, "Where are we going?"
Chloe: "To board a plane."
A few dozen minutes later.
Staring at the luxurious private jet before his eyes, Robert was completely stunned, the cold wind blowing against his face.
"This... how did you get this? The Collins’s... they have a jet, but it’s not this one."
He had ridden the Collins’s private jet before, but it was a different model.
Chloe walked up the aircraft stairs, casually saying, "I bought it."
Robert: "!!!"
"You bought it?"
"When did you do that?"
"Oh! You bought this with the money you won recently, didn’t you?"
Chloe looked back at him from higher ground, "If you want to go, then get on."
With that, she walked up the stairs.
As the plane took off into the night sky, Robert, staring at the city lights twinkling below, finally believed her words.
