You should be thinking about how to explain this situation clearly now, so others won’t blame both of you."

Rosalind Taylor glanced at Chloe Collins, with an indecisive expression on her face, but said nothing.

Raine Nolan walked over from a distance, saw the accusatory look on Tessa’s face, and felt secretly delighted. She stood by Rosalind and listened.

Tessa turned her gaze back to Chloe and said, "Why can’t you learn from Raine and be more sensible? You only cause trouble for your father every day."

"Chlo-Chlo, I’m ready." Evelyn Thompson came out of the restroom.

Tessa’s expression changed dramatically, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Mrs. Foster, long time no see."

Evelyn Thompson nodded slightly, her eyes devoid of the usual warmth and liveliness. At this moment, she seemed more like a gentle, quiet, and introverted noblewoman who didn’t like talking.

But Tessa took the liberty of holding her hand and said, "Ah, our child has caused you trouble. Actually, we, the adults, didn’t know about her actions. She made the decision on her own. If we had known, we would have stopped her."

Evelyn Thompson withdrew her hand indifferently and said coldly, "I don’t quite understand what you mean."

Tessa explained, "Actually, speaking too bluntly is not good. What I mean is simple: children will make mistakes. Chlo-Chlo wasn’t raised by our side since she was little, so she might have more faults. The trouble she caused this time was unknown to us, so please bear with her."

A chill flashed across Evelyn Thompson’s eyes.

"I really can’t understand you."

Tessa was taken aback, thinking that Evelyn was beginning to blame them, so she couldn’t help but glare at Chloe Collins.

But the next second, she heard—

"Why do you always pick on such a perfect child?"

Her words hinted at anger and protection.

Evelyn Thompson, born into a prestigious family, had been cherished since childhood. After graduating from college, she married William Foster and had always lived in a loving environment, having never really experienced setbacks. All she had seen was beauty.

So she simply couldn’t understand the Collinses’ attitude towards Chloe.

Why did they treat her like an enemy and exclude her?

Tessa glanced at Rosalind Taylor, her eyes filled with astonishment. "Not... Mrs. Foster, are you... speaking on her behalf now?"

Evelyn Thompson said candidly, "No matter the final result, I won’t blame a child. She only wants to help us. How can you only see the outcome without seeing her good intentions?"

Tessa was suddenly at a loss for words.

However, her gaze remained haughty, showing no remorse.

Raine Nolan suddenly spoke up, "Auntie Evelyn, my aunt doesn’t really mean to blame my cousin. She just feels guilty and is worried about causing you trouble."

Upon hearing this, Evelyn Thompson’s frown deepened.

At that moment, Robert Foster appeared.

He was holding a tray with two bottles of perfume on it. The perfume bottles were placed in small white bags, with only the neck of the bottle exposed. The bags were similar to sachets, protecting the bottles but not revealing their appearance.

As soon as he arrived, he immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

He didn’t look at Chloe’s side but instead faced Tessa and the others directly, smiling, "Here’s your perfume. Would you like to give it a try?"

Seeing this, Tessa gladly took the opportunity to change the subject with Evelyn Thompson and happily picked up a bottle to spray some.

"Hmm, not bad. I like this scent. It’s very nice," she said.

A playful gleam flitted across Alex’s eyes as he handed her the remaining bottle.

"Try this one."

Tessa picked it up and sprayed it directly, and her eyes widened.

"Wow, this smells great! Really great!"
