Chapter 321: Chapter 321: She Must Be Dismissed!
Chapter 321
Then, she breathed a long sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness."
"Mom, what are you saying is good?" Raine Nolan trotted over, "Did you find a way to deal with the situation?"
Rosalind Taylor stared at her phone and said, "It’s good that the original post about Chloe Collins and Lilian Pearce was deleted, so not many people are discussing their relationship now."
Raine looked confused: "Are you saying that you’re worried about Chloe Collins, not me?"
"Don’t you see that the whole school is laughing at me? If my dad finds out, will I still be able to stay in this family?"
She was angry again.
Turns out, Rosalind was actually worried about something else entirely!
"You don’t understand; other people’s opinions don’t matter, what matters is your dad." Her gaze became distant as she continued slowly, "No matter what others say, you’ll only be embarrassed for a while, and as long as you’re still the Young Lady of the Collinses, those people will have to grovel, look up to you, and cannot harm you too much."
Raine’s mouth deflated again: "But I am embarrassed, can’t you empathize with how I feel?"
Rosalind looked at her with an exasperated expression, "Who told you to defy me in the first place?! You didn’t listen to me, and you’ve brought this upon yourself, do you understand that?"
Raine was shocked, her eyes filled with tears of grievance.
"I’m like this, and you’re still scolding me..."
Rosalind sighed: "There are some things I’ll tell you later. All you need to do is listen to me. Look at you, your face full of tears, hurry and use powder to cover it."
It wasn’t that Rosalind didn’t care about Raine but there was something more worrisome and urgent on her mind. Compared to that, she could only put her daughter’s feelings aside for now.
"Your aunts should be getting up soon. I’ll go downstairs to check on them, so hurry up and put on some makeup."
Rosalind left quickly.
Raine sat in front of the mirror, staring at her swollen eyes from crying, feeling more and more wronged and angry.
No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t figure out why her mother was so sensitive about Chloe Collins and Lilian Pearce being connected.
This only made her believe more firmly that there was a secret relationship between the two.
Not a mother-daughter relationship, but another unspeakable connection.
Before, she hadn’t thought about it, but now she had noticed a detail—both Chloe Collins and Theodore resembled Rosalind Taylor so much that even without a DNA test, you could tell. On the other hand, they had no chance of being Lilian Pearce’s children.
So, what exactly was the reason for her mother to be so nervous that wasn’t a mother-daughter relationship?
Perhaps...Tristan Collins knew.
Yes!
He must know; that’s why her mother was so worried and trying to hide it from Tristan!
Then, if she asked Tristan directly, wouldn’t she find out?
This idea grew stronger and stronger, and she unconsciously stood up and walked out of the room.
She was eager to know what secret her mother had been keeping from her.
Not far from her room, she suddenly heard her mother’s voice, quite low, coming from the balcony of the second-floor living room.
She carefully approached to listen.
After a while, she heard her mother’s voice clearly—
"Think of a reason to transfer her away or fire her. The impact of this incident is so big that, as a teacher, she bears an inescapable responsibility. She doesn’t deserve to teach anymore; she must go!"
Raine was surprised.
Was her mother...forcing the school to get rid of Lilian Pearce?
After listening for a while longer, she confirmed her suspicion.
The impulsiveness she felt earlier slowly subsided.
Back in her room, she struggled with whether to go to Tristan straight away, or to meet with Lilian Pearce privately for a talk.
