Chapter 296
Anders Spence got a first prize, ranking 53rd, while Diego Willis, just a little behind, ranked 58th and got a second prize.
The moment he saw the results, he was almost depressed.
He was just one place short of getting the chance for a guaranteed admission and additional points.
Anders was quite satisfied with the result and felt much better in his heart. He took out his phone and took a photo to send to his parents, and then looked at it several times.
Wanda Wesley carefully put away her certificate and other things, her eyes showing how much she cherished them.
Layla Lowell glanced at it, nodded, and indifferently placed it under a book, then turned to keep listening to the chatter of the young girl next to her.
As for Chloe Collins.
She didn’t even look at it, and put it into the drawer, pressing it under a pile of comic books.
"Chloe, aren’t you going to take a look?"
A classmate next to her asked.
Chloe looked a little puzzled and retorted, "What’s there to look at?"
A few classmates: "!!!"
Chloe’s desk was tapped: "You and Wanda Wesley, go upstairs to the small conference room. Ms. Brooke is looking for you. For the upcoming Winter Camp finals, she’ll be coaching you three. Do well, and you’ll be free ahead of time."
Keith Grant’s attitude was no longer as harsh as usual because he knew very clearly that with Chloe Collins’s current first place, there was a high chance she could be guaranteed admission.
Hearing "freedom ahead of time", Chloe felt relieved inside.
That was her reason for participating in this competition in the first place.
"I’ll go now," she said.
When she arrived at Wanda’s desk, she accidentally saw Wanda wiping the area below her collarbone with a tissue.
She seemed... always to be hot.
"Ms. Brooke is looking for us. Let’s go," she said.
Wanda trembled, stretched out her hand reflexively, and looked at her with relief, then nodded.
The two girls arrived at the small conference room door, just in time to see Raine Nolan talking to Vanessa Brooke.
Raine looked very obedient, completely different from the gritted teeth she displayed just now in front of the restroom door.
As the two of them arrived, they heard Vanessa Brooke say to her, "It’s okay, this time was just a bad performance. From now on, study well with me, the finals consist of theory and experiments, our school is counting on you."
As this voice fell, Vanessa Brooke noticed the two girls at the door, so she withdrew from Raine Nolan’s side, sat up straight, and casually pointed to a nearby seat: "Just find a place to sit."
Vanessa Brooke is one of the younger teachers in the classroom, 31 years old this year. She usually puts her hair up in a tidy bun, wearing a relatively large pair of black-framed glasses. She often dresses in a professional outfit of shirts and skirts. Most students have an impression of her as strict and reserved.
She was also very strict, but did not vent her emotions like Keith Grant, speaking her mind.
After Chloe and Wanda took their seats, Vanessa Brooke handed two forms to them.
"This is the study plan for the next two months. You should take a look, my contact information is on it. If you have any questions and I’m not at school, you can ask me online. Alright, that’s all, you can go back to class now, Raine can stay."
She looked down at the documents in her hand without raising her head and waved her hand.
Chloe glanced at the form, and the schedule was full.
"Teacher, I have something to say," she said.
Vanessa Brooke slowly looked up, adjusted her glasses, and looked at her. Her eyes showed a hint of impatience and asked, "What is it?"
"I can’t attend on the weekends," Chloe said.
"I...I can’t either," Wanda Wesley whispered in agreement.
