Chapter 276: Chapter 276: She Always Manages to Surprise Me
Chapter 276
She couldn’t figure out the answer, as she and Sophia Spence had no conflicts of interest.
On the way back, Heijii sent her a message with a guess.
[Boss, I just checked again, and found out that Sophia Spence is in love with Alexander Foster. Do you think she’s investigating you because she sees you as a love rival?]
[Hehe, I often see in television dramas that when women fight over a man, they always investigate their rivals. I think there is a good possibility. You have to be careful, some women are crazy in love, I’ve even seen news about them attacking others with sulfuric acid.]
[Chloe Collins: Boring.]
When she returned to the door of her Master’s room, she heard him laughing and talking about her childhood.
She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should go in.
Sometimes, listening to others talk about your past self gave you a strange feeling of shame.
"Eleven, you’re back, come in quickly," Master’s deep voice called out.
She walked in, and her eyes fell on Alex first.
She looked at him subconsciously, and coincidentally, he was also looking at her, his eyes still as intriguing and strange as before.
She always felt like she had done something wrong to him.
She couldn’t help but care about it, and sat down in the same lounge chair as before, occasionally taking a grape to eat.
Master’s voice came to her ears: "Oh, it was this chair. She was only six years old at the time. It had been less than a week since she came to the temple, and she had dismantled half the stuff in my room that could be taken apart. I was so angry, slapping my thigh, but she stared at me with her black-grape-like eyes and said, ’It’s okay, I can put it back together for you right away!’"
For the last part, the Teacher imitated her tone of voice from that time, quite accurately.
In front of his disciples, he didn’t carry his usual demeanor, even using "I" for self-reference.
Chloe felt that inexplicable shame envelop her again, not responding to anything, so she turned her head to face the wall, eating grapes, and let them talk.
"Did she really put this chair together?" Alexander Foster asked.
In Chloe’s mind, a picture formed: while he was asking this, his gaze was in her direction.
As she thought about it, she reflexively turned her body back slightly.
Alexander Foster’s eyes were on Master, not her.
She thought too much~
Chloe pursed her lips, turned her head back, and continued eating grapes.
However, just a second later, Alexander Foster’s gaze returned to her, quiet and silent.
Master continued the topic: "You’ve been together for quite some time now, you should know her as well, so what do you think?"
Master’s eyes were meaningful, staring straight at him.
Looking at Chloe, Alexander Foster seemed to see a young glutinous rice ball sitting on the floor, skillfully using cold tools to assemble a chair several times larger than herself, her chubby little face probably stained with a bit of dust.
His face softened, the corners of his mouth twitched: "Yes."
This answer had no doubt in it whatsoever.
Master Songya laughed heartily, his eyes and brows full of pleased delight.
"I’ve told many people about this incident, and none of them believed it, or were skeptical. Only you are the exception!"
Alexander Foster’s voice was warm: "She always surprises me."
Master laughed again.
Chloe, however, was stunned, chewing on grapes, her face calm, but her heart suddenly filled with some sort of... joyous feeling at Alexander Foster’s words.
She hadn’t thought much of her abilities before, but this time, she suddenly felt some pride.
Ranked 19, when you were here before, you’ve been with her too. Which thing impressed you the most?"
