Chapter 248
All of them were from Ella Stark.
Chloe Collins scratched her cheek and looked elsewhere unnaturally.
Just then, she received a message on her cell phone and opened it.
The message was from Layla Lowell.
[I failed, he sent me back a gift]
Right below this message was a picture of the gift.
A broken❤.
She snorted coldly: "Typical of him."
"Hmm?" Alexander Foster turned to look at her.
"Oh, didn’t tell you, I’m checking messages."
Alexander took another look at her phone and said, "The house password is the day you moved into the Foster’s residence, feel free to stop by for candy anytime you want."
Chloe, who was pondering Layla’s situation, nodded subconsciously upon hearing this.
Then she realized what he had said and turned to him silently.
He was meticulously sorting the things on the ground.
When she was about to refuse his invitation, in the end, she didn’t say it out loud.
She looked down at the picture of Charles Carrington while mulling over things.
Layla had already sent her three messages——
[The lawsuit can’t be delayed any longer, I heard Luna Lowell is already planning something.]
[What are Charles Carrington’s weaknesses?]
[I plan to strike when he’s least ready and take him down in one go!]
After thinking for a moment, she asked Alexander, "Do you know Charles Carrington well?"
Alexander stood up as he heard this and looked over at her.
The depth in those dark mused eyes said a lot.
"Why are you interested in him?"
"Does he have any glaring weaknesses that he’s willing to compromise for?"
Alexander blinked slowly, his eyes betraying a hint of pleasure.
"It seems like you two aren’t very close."
So that’s why she asked him such a question.
Without holding anything back, Chloe confirmed, "Indeed, we’re not very close."
But they have had a few "minor disputes".
"He’s the only male heir to the Carrington family in Orlando, but dislikes business and fears that his father might force him back to inherit the family assets."
Chloe curved her lips, "Running a business is so fun. What’s he thinking?"
Alexander looked at her, only seeing her in his eyes, faintly asked, "You think doing business is fun?"
Chloe realized she had said too much and changed the subject seriously, "Hmm, apart from this, does he have other weaknesses?"
Alexander pondered for a moment and said, "Crying women."
"Hmm?"
"He’s very indulgent towards women, basically can’t cope when they cry."
There’s been an example of this before.
He happened to witness it.
Upon getting an answer that could easily be exploited, Chloe immediately replied to Layla.
Alex saw her fingers typing from time to time and had a hunch.
He didn’t ask why she was so curious about Charles Carrington.
After a while, Chloe returned to her own space.
Alex took all the paintings with him and returned with her.
She took down all the masterpieces on the wall to make room for his artwork.
After hanging each one, Alex stepped back and appreciated his work with a mild expression, "You have good taste."
Chloe lowered her head, her face slightly strange.
She looked at the time and said, "It’s quite late, let me treat you to dinner."
Alexander smiled, "You’re treating me?"
This seemed like a softly spoken whisper between lovers.
She looked at him as if nothing was the matter, "What would you like to eat?"
He leaned over, looking down at her, "Taking such good care of me?"
The attraction of his deep, dark eyes once again inexplicably pulled Chloe in, she lowered her gaze and looked away, "I’ll go find something, think about what you want to eat in the meantime."
He helped her clean up the courtyard, prepared candies and paintings, on this basis, it was basic courtesy to treat him to a meal.
That’s just her style.
