Chapter 239: Chapter 239 Quite Comfortable
Chapter 239
Anders Spence hugged Cherry Foster in front of him, boldly declaring, "I’ll marry Cherry in the future."
Alexander Foster regarded him with a cold gaze and didn’t say anything immediately.
"Ah, Second Brother, let’s not talk about me. When did you return?" Cherry came over and grabbed Alex’s arm, looking up with a smile as she tried to change the subject.
Alex remained unaffected and didn’t shake off her hand, seemingly used to her actions.
Chloe Collins’ indifferent gaze landed on Cherry’s hand for several seconds.
Her expression unknowingly turned slightly colder, and she looked away: "I’ll leave first."
She walked outside.
His eyes followed her movements, and a hint of contemplation flashed in them.
When she reached the parking lot’s doorway, the bright sunshine shone down. She raised a hand to shield her forehead and signaled a taxi to come over.
A black Lamborghini slowly drove out and stopped in front of her.
She glanced at him and said, "I have things to take care of, so you should focus on your own matters."
As soon as her words fell, a taxi stopped in front of her.
She opened the door and left quickly.
Alex didn’t stop her, watching the taxi drive away with a slowly spreading, pleased smile on his lips.
He drove back to the new villa in Southvale’s Riverside, took a shower, changed clothes, and walked outside.
He carried some small gifts in his hand.
At the same time, Chloe was watering the plants in the courtyard, dressed in shorts and a short top. Her fair, slender legs stood out against the grass, exceedingly eye-catching.
It made him feel a sudden urge to hide them away.
He restrained himself, pressing down on his emotions as he walked to the fence.
Chloe had already sensed his approaching presence but didn’t look up, continuing to water the plants calmly.
"Is this the matter you were in a rush to deal with?" he asked softly, a hint of teasing in his voice.
Chloe raised the water hose at an angle: "Don’t come over; you’ll get splashed."
Her tone was still cold and indifferent.
Despite his caution, Alex didn’t move, standing in place as the water shot between the fence slats, several drops landing on his shoes.
In the end, even a large portion of his pants was wet, but he didn’t walk away.
It wasn’t clear whether Chloe noticed, but she stubbornly watered the plants until a young voice called out—
"Big Sis, if you keep watering, you’ll drown the flowers."
Rupert Frost was eating an ice cream, his mouth covered with chocolate as he licked it and walked over.
Chloe looked at him, continuing her motions without pause, but shifted her angle subconsciously.
The next second, the little boy shouted, "Big Brother, watch out!"
By the time Chloe looked over, it was too late.
Alex’s black hair was plastered to his ears, water droplets streaming down and wetting his chest.
He wiped the water off his face and looked at Chloe, saying: "It’s quite refreshing."
Chloe blinked, at a loss for words,
Rupert watched them curiously, still licking his ice cream.
Chloe turned off the water, put the hose away, and went inside the house.
Soon after, she brought out a fresh, white towel and threw it to Alex.
Her gaze naturally landed on the gifts in his hand.
Alex noticed and handed the gifts to Rupert, who accepted them with a cheer and ran back, saying he’d show them to his little brother.
Chloe’s eyes dimmed slightly, but she didn’t realize it.
As Alex wiped his hair, he walked inside. The clothes he had just changed into clung tightly to his skin, and the contours of his chest were faintly visible.
"If you’re free, come with me; I have something for you."
As he spoke, he tilted his chin slightly in one direction.
