Chapter 1676: Chapter 1676 Yun Huan Was Taken Away
Chapter 1676
Alexander Foster was not shocked by this turn of events; he had anticipated that she would continue her investigation. When Tristan Collins arrived and felt the atmosphere was off, Alexander intervened to preside over this small meeting.
After everyone was seated, Heijii said, "Boss, I checked everything like you said, and indeed I found something fishy."
"Spit it out, did you find the person?!" Tristan Collins was anxious.
Heijii glanced at him with irritation and ignored him, addressing Chloe Collins instead: "Actually, after Madam was pronounced dead at the Hospital, something happened.
At that time, a fire broke out in the Eastern Block of the Hospital. It was chaos, everyone fled the building, and it was only later discovered that it was caused by children playing with Fireworks inside."
He pulled out a blueprint and pointed to the east side of the Hospital: "Smoke was coming from over here, and Madam’s Hospital ward was nearby. As everyone thought there was a fire, they were all evacuated, descending from this Staircase entrance."
"And Madam’s body was supposed to be taken out by a nurse."
Recalling the incident, Tristan Collins said, "When I got there, the body had already been taken to the Morgue. I don’t remember this happening."
His eyebrows were knotted with distress.
Heijii didn’t respond to his remark but gave him a disdainful look, as if to blame him for not being by his wife’s side during her last moments, unworthy of being a husband.
Tristan Collins seemed to regret this as well, a sorrowful look in his eyes. Although his face was grave, he said nothing.
Heijii’s gaze returned to Chloe Collins, continuing, "If I’m not wrong, when you discovered the fire was a false alarm and rushed back to the ward, the person must have been covered with a white sheet, right?"
"Moreover, the strong smell of smoke would have easily disturbed your sense of smell, boss, making it difficult for you to notice that Madam was not there even if you were present."
Knocking on the blueprint, Heijii affirmed, "They must have taken advantage of that moment to switch the body and take the person away. The person later lying in the Hospital bed wasn’t dead. Madam had specifically instructed not to cremate her, which facilitated that person’s escape afterward."
Chloe Collins reflected that it was indeed possible.
Back then, the Hospital reeked, and when she tried to find her mother, she was stopped by a nurse who said she couldn’t disrupt things. Shortly after, she saw the nurse wheel someone out of the ward, and before long, Tristan Collins and others arrived.
Looking back, that brief period was certainly chaotic, but it was not enough to prove that was when the person went missing.
Leaning against her chair, Chloe Collins said, "Apart from the fire false alarm, which is substantiated, you have no evidence for the rest."
Heijii chuckled, "No, I do."
Having said that, he displayed several photos of people, while speaking, he scrolled through the images of three nurses.
He explained, "I started with the few nurse aides who had served Madam that year. According to their recollections, the fire alarm caused chaos, and as the thick smoke billowed, they fled initially. But fearing that Madam would be burned and they would be held accountable by the Collinses, the three of them rushed back to move Madam out. In the process, they saw several blurry figures carrying someone out of the ward.
In the emergency, they thought others had moved Madam out. It wasn’t until after they ran out of the building that they realized Madam hadn’t been brought out. Terrified, they hurried back to look for her. Upon entering the ward again, they found Madam lying peacefully on the bed, covered with a white sheet, as if she had never left the ward."
