Alex, as if prepared, said, "Our rescue team can arrive in no more than two days."

The general was overjoyed.

Chloe listened silently, smiling faintly at the thought of his statement upstairs about not interfering in other countries’ affairs, realizing the contradiction in what he said because of his annoyance.

Reflecting on it, she found it somewhat endearing.

When she came back to the present, she found the general looking at her, so she casually answered, "I follow my husband’s lead, you can just talk to him."

The general looked baffled.

Alex stifled a laugh, leaning in close to her ear and said, "I didn’t ask you a question, I only mentioned you and took a glance."

For the first time, she felt so embarrassed.

Her fingers involuntarily tightened on the flesh of his palm, her smile strained.
