Chapter 1633: Chapter 1633: Children Speak Their Minds

Chapter 1633

The door opened, and standing in front was a boy about five or six years old, holding a gift in each hand, his bright, sparkling eyes looking up at him.

The child’s features were strikingly familiar, almost identical to someone else, exceedingly exquisite.

Alexander Foster recognized the child but waited for him to speak.

The boy sized him up for a moment and then, with a slight bow, said very politely, "Hello, Uncle Alexander, I am Ethan Hill. These are gifts from my father, Grayson Hill, and my mother, Darla Palmer, prepared for you and Auntie."

His little voice was loud and clear, full of energy.

Alex curled his lips, squatted down, and asked him, "How do you know I am the person you’re looking for?"

"I’ve seen your photos and news, and my dad has told me your stories."

Alex smiled, "Oh? Your dad pays attention to my stories?"

"Of course, because my grandfather often tells your stories in front of them, and then my mom said you’re very handsome, my dad got jealous, and started following you."

This logic was somewhat coherent.

Alex was flattered by the latter part of the statement, patted the boy on the head, and said, "Then I’ll accept it, you’re a good boy, thank you."

His voice was soft and warm.

The little guy tilted his head, looking at him curiously, and said, "Weird, you don’t seem as indifferent as my dad described. He said you never compliment others or say thanks."

Alex raised his eyebrows, "He really said that about me?"

"Isn’t it so? My dad doesn’t talk nonsense, everyone says he’s an upright and honorable gentleman!" The little guy gestured to show his height, even attempting to jump up, his eyes filled with admiration for his father.

Alex didn’t deny it; indeed, in his youth, he was somewhat dismissive and didn’t bother with people he didn’t click with, occasionally even being sarcastic.

Now, his gaze softened, "Would you like some Peach Puff Pastry?"

The youngster’s eyes lit up, "Yes! But my dad doesn’t let me eat too many sweets, he says they are for girls, yet my sister can eat more."

Alex grinned, "Today, Uncle will treat you."

"Oh yeah!"

After a hop, he turned back and said to the woman behind him, "Auntie, you can’t tell my dad, okay?"

The woman smiled with some effort.

Once the little guy dashed into the room, he glanced around, "Auntie isn’t here?"

"You looking for her?"

"Yes, I want to take a picture with her."

Alex handed him the plate of pastries and casually asked, "A photo? Are you her fan?"

The little guy took a bite and nodded, "Yes!"

Alex looked toward the bed inside the room and said softly, "Auntie has a little baby, she’s resting."

"When Auntie is resting, is the little baby also resting?"

"Yes."

The young boy thought for a moment and then asked earnestly, "Uncle, how does a baby come about? They all say I am the product of my parents’ love, but I still don’t understand."

Alex: "..."

He just knew kids could be troublesome.

"You’ll know when you grow up."

"My dad says that too, but it will be many, many years before I grow up," he said, frowning with worry.

Alex handed him another piece of Peach Puff Pastry, "Let’s skip this question for now."

"You don’t know, Uncle?"

"I know."

"Then why don’t you tell me?"

"..."

"Uncle, isn’t this child yours? Why can’t you explain?"

Alex looked once more in the direction of the bed and silently vowed: It must be a daughter.
