Chloe Collins glanced at Raine Nolan, quietly placing a small object into her clothes, and then she took her leave.

Just as she stepped out of the ward, Cherry Foster abruptly confronted her.

The latter seemed to want to speak but hesitated, her gaze uncertain.

"What is it?" Chloe asked.

Cherry hesitated for a moment, then awkwardly said, "I wanted to thank you for what just happened. I... I promise not to ignore you anymore, and I’m sorry for my previous rudeness."

Her voice was faint, but each word was clearly spoken.

Chloe didn’t say anything, merely responding with a light grunt before leaving.

Cherry was surprised. Looking up at her, all she could see was Chloe’s retreating figure.

She’d never perceived Chloe to be so imposing and exalted.

Her previous prejudices vanished at that moment.

She was genuinely grateful to Chloe, and relieved that she was there.

Upon returning home, Chloe found Alexander Foster had just come back. Seeing she wasn’t there, he gave her a call.

Seeing the incoming call, she spoke in the direction of the courtyard door, "I’m back."

Only then did Alexander hang up and walked towards her.

"Mom said something happened to West Wing, what happened?"

She sat down with him on a rocking chair in the courtyard, quickly briefing him about the events which took place at the West Wing.

"I’ve placed a tracker on her. We should be able to locate the Valleys."

She did not trust that Rosalind Taylor could control Raine Nolan at all. The reason she sent her to the hospital was to get Raine’s body examination report, which could potentially help Albert Green and his team further develop an antidote.

Moreover, the medicine was from the Valleys and given to Raine. If that was the case, they would probably meet again.

She planned to follow the leads provided by Raine, and slowly track down the Valleys’ base, and take them out in one fell swoop!

"I’ve already sent the examination report to Mr. Green. Unique is watching the tracker constantly. We should get results soon."

Alexander nodded, "Alright, I’ll keep an eye on the proceedings. Don’t worry too much."

Chloe noticed him inspecting her hand continuously, and couldn’t help but laugh, "I really wasn’t injured. Since I promised to take care of myself and our baby, I won’t go back on my word."

As she spoke, she leaned forward, her elevated nose rubbing against his.

Alexander was helpless against her, his smile revealing both indulgence and resignation.

"Hungry? Let’s go eat."

Lowering his body, he suddenly turned around, "Climb on, I’ll carry you."

She smiled and leaned against him, "Let’s go."

His eyes crinkled as he laughed, and he playfully spun her around in a small circle before heading into the house.

The courtyard was filled with warmth.

Evelyn Thompson and the others quietly went upstairs, their smiles teasing as they left the space to the couple and their baby.

After they entered their room, she told her husband, "I chose such a good daughter-in-law. Look, we didn’t have any mother-daughter-in-law issues in our family, and Alex is always happy and smiling. Otherwise, if he were as cold as he used to be, I’d be so worried for him."

Her husband laughed, "Yes, yes, you made the greatest contribution. Our family is so fortunate to have you, and because of you, I worry less."

"Of course." Evelyn Thompson grinned triumphantly as she took a seat beside him.

William Foster naturally put down his book and began to massage her shoulders.

She suddenly furrowed her brows, "We’re done with our eldest son’s issues, but what about our second son?"

"Isn’t Cain with Wandy? What are you worried about?" William asked.

Touching her chest, Evelyn confessed, "I don’t know. I just feel anxious. These past days, whenever I call him, he either doesn’t pick up or he hangs up after hurriedly speaking a few words. I’m really worried something happened."
