Chapter 1579
"If you keep refusing to eat, you’ll starve to death," she added.
"Milton White" breathed deeply to calm his anger. He looked elsewhere and ordered, "Bring the porridge to me."
The little girl did as she was told, took the spoon, and fed him spoonful by spoonful. Thoughtfully wiping his mouth with her sleeve when some porridge dribbled onto his lips.
The man was clearly unaccustomed to being waited upon like this – each mouthful was eaten with a frown.
This made the little girl think the taste wasn’t good. She pulled away the spoon that was about to reach his mouth, and asked, "Does it taste bad?"
The man’s frown deepened. "Away with it. I’m not eating anymore."
He gave a slight backward shift, closed his eyes, and pondered on how to escape.
Sometime later, his eyes opened. "Rain, unlock these handcuffs. I need to use the toilet."
The little girl thought for a while and then said, "If you finish this, I’ll agree to your request."
The man was clearly annoyed, but he still complied.
In the end, all the breakfast was finished.
The little girl couldn’t hide her satisfaction, "That’s good. Big Brother’s body will not fail."
As she spoke, she pulled out a bedpan from under the bed that was used only for patients and instructed, "Big Brother, solve it yourself and let me know."
As her words fell, she deftly unlocked one of his hands and swiftly left the room.
"Rain!"
A voice roaring in anger could be heard.
At the same time, the bedpan was kicked over by him.
The little girl grinned, talking to herself, "Big brother is really smart, he guessed it."
——
Five days later. At the Fosters’ residence.
Mid-Autumn Festival, when the autumnal charm was increasingly stronger.
The entire Foster family was preparing for Alex’s birthday. This birthday was his twenty-ninth, the last time a ’2’ would feature at the front of his age on the birthday cake.
Evelyn Thompson started directing the housekeepers to set things up early in the morning. She wanted to give her son an unforgettable birthday.
Indeed, Alex’s day turned out to be quite unforgettable.
He was woken up by the surprise prepared by Robert and the others before he could fully awake —
He woke up next to a skeleton instead of his wife.
After he finally caught his breath, he heard his wife calling him from the bathroom. As soon as he stepped inside, a bucket of water was dumped on his head.
He brushed his teeth, the toothpaste was mixed with mustard.
He opened the wardrobe to change clothes and was confronted by a Samoyed jumping out, challenging his heart rate.
After changing his clothes, he skipped the first floor entirely, jumped out the window, and landed lightly.
When Robert and the others came out of the house, they complained. "Bro, climb back in and come down the stairs. Hurry, all of these were specially arranged by me for today. They haven’t exploded yet on the first floor, such a waste."
Alex remained stoically indifferent, ignoring him, and asked, "Where’s my wife?"
"Your wife is on the first floor. Go there, and you will see her!"
Alex called over Victor and asked, "Where’s mom?"
Victor cocked his head, then started barking towards the balcony of the main building.
Facing upwards, Alex saw his wife standing on the balcony.
She smiled lightly at him, shaking the balloon in her hand. "Happy Birthday."
The balloon was attached to a card, a wish card.
Alex didn’t use the stairs, he leaped straight onto the balcony.
The two of them kissed each other, sharing a morning kiss.
Seeing this from below, Evelyn Thompson didn’t have the heart to scold Alex for not paying attention to safety.
They were so sweet; watching them made her feel at ease.
Upstairs, Chloe Collins watched as he swiftly wrote down his wishes, the same old ones.
The two of them released the balloon together and watched as it flew into the bright and sunny sky.
