Chapter 1543: Chapter 1543: Only Big Brother Milty Knows This Password_1
Chapter 1543
The little girl lifted her head, puffing out her chest. Her chin held high, with a fierce defiance that headed straight for the couple, showing no sign of surrender.
Behind her, a middle-aged man was approaching briskly.
"Mr. Foster, Mrs. Foster, Master would like to see you."
The ’Master’ he was referring to was Hans White.
"Go have a talk," Chloe Collins said to Alexander Foster, "I’ll handle this side."
The man agreed and, following the butler, headed towards the hall.
Now, only the two of them remained in the courtyard.
The little girl took a step forward and intently examined Chloe without reservation. Yet, she stayed silent. Seemingly, she had a bellyful of words for Chloe but was hesitant to let them out due to certain reasons.
As she advanced, the girl finally spoke up, "If I were you, I would never show myself before him again. Don’t you know you’re being selfish?"
"Selfish?" Chloe glanced at her, "How much do you really know about my affairs?"
"At least I know he likes you, and you don’t like him. That’s enough! If I were you, I would never disturb Milty again. He shuns you probably because he fears that seeing you will disrupt the emotional stability he took pains to regain. His effort will all be wasted once you appear, won’t it be?"
The child was articulate, never holding back what she thought, and believing she was right.
Chloe averted her eyes, and in a whiff, she vanished before the girl.
The little girl was taken aback. She lunged forward, only to clutch at thin air.
The woman’s figure had already disappeared.
"Why!" She stamped her foot and hurried up to the second floor to Milton White’s room.
Reaching the doorway, she saw no sign of anyone.
She knocked and entered, but still, there was no one inside.
Her eyes suddenly lit up, remembering that Milton White was currently in the secret room downstairs, a realization that brought a sigh of relief.
The entrance to the secret room required a password, prohibitive to outsiders.
However, she still rushed to the entrance.
Initially, she held on to hope that the woman wouldn’t know the password. Yet once she reached, she saw the woman standing at the doorway, entering the password.
"Hmph, don’t waste your effort. Only Milty knows this password, even the Master doesn’t..."
Her voice trailed off with the last word as she stood there stunned, staring at the sight before her.
The woman, to her astonishment, had opened the door with just one try!
"You, stop!"
She hastily rushed forward.
Suddenly, the woman waved her hand without looking back. A powerful force surged forth, pushing the girl harshly backwards, almost causing her to fall.
When she managed to recover, the door had already been securely shut.
Inside.
Chloe looked at this familiar corridor, the memories of more than two years ago coming back to her.
Back then, Mane York was injured and left a red rope bracelet behind. It was made by her for Milton White.
Consequently, she had brought the bracelet to reproach him.
In response, he had explained a lot to her while leading her here.
It was also here that they had parted ways for good.
But today, she needed to put aside all personal feelings and desires to have a talk with him.
Lured by his scent, she walked forward and soon saw him in the reception room in the middle.
The man was dressed in a simple white outfit, seated in front of a statue of Buddha, engrossed in a book. This scene was all too familiar, tugging at her heartstrings.
She didn’t need to ask, she knew who the man before her was.
"Senior," she called out softly.
The man slowly lifted his eyes. His calm gaze turned towards her and momentarily, a flash of irrepressible sorrow flickered in his eyes.
That fleeting sorrow swiftly settled back into placidity.
