Chapter 1499
"Very well, book the flight to the Capitol immediately!"
After this matter was confirmed, Clara Carrington hurried to the airport with two subordinates. When they were going downstairs, she bumped into Tristan Collins in the elevator.
Tristan Collins was planning to stay here for a week. He was still here today, but he hadn’t gone out for two days. Today, he finally came out.
Upon seeing him, Clara nodded in greeting.
Tristan glanced at her and noticed her hurried appearance, but he didn’t ask any further questions.
Clara, still concerned about their business deal, said, "Mr. Collins, I’m wondering if we can resume our cooperation tomorrow? You know, if we continue like this, D’Swiss Hotel might win."
These words elicited a soft snort of laughter from Tristan, which sounded rather irritating.
"The worst thing for young people is to lack self-confidence."
Just as he finished speaking, the elevator doors opened.
Tristan stepped out, with the two attendants following behind. From beginning to end, they didn’t spare her a glance.
Clara was annoyed and hissed, "Is he trying to provoke me on purpose?"
The two subordinates dared not speak.
Meanwhile, Chloe Collins had arranged a dinner gathering at the famous nearby restaurant for the variety show’s cast and crew, as the shooting was about to start. She was hosting the event for everyone.
In the midst of all this, she stepped out of the private room to take a phone call.
The call was from Alexander Foster who should’ve been dealing with urgent business at the branch company.
But now, he was calling her.
"I should have told you about this earlier, but I didn’t want to worry you," he said.
Chloe rarely heard such a serious tone from Alexander, and it missed a beat of her heart.
"What’s wrong?"
"Well, half a year ago, Timmy Collins was discovered and used by James Cunningham and others. Now they’ve sent word that he’s missing."
"Missing? What do you mean by missing?!"
"They were on a mission to Gelia and lost him. They came here to ask if you might have a way of contacting him. Stay calm—they are doing their best to find him. Try to recall if there is any way to make him return to us."
His voice had a natural persuasion that quietened Chloe’s inner turmoil.
She rarely lost control unless it involved Liam Locke and Timmy Collins.
These two had once been carefully protected by her.
Timmy Collins, her playmate since childhood, who was even closer to her than her family, was a large gorilla. If it appeared in public, there would certainly be danger.
"No, but he’s smarter than the average person and won’t get lost."
A pause from the other end of the line. Then he suddenly said, "Hold on, James Cunningham is calling."
"Alright, take it."
She hung up the call first and waited outside.
Then, the elevator door slowly opened.
Chloe took a casual glance and found herself meeting Tristan’s gaze.
This was the first official meeting of the "father and daughter" duo in more than two years.
Tristan’s face changed slightly, but he quickly regained his calm.
He instructed his subordinates to go ahead first.
Chloe saw the people walking towards her with an indifferent expression on her face.
"Mr. Collins, what a coincidence," she said, her tone casual.
Some things couldn’t change overnight, such as the resentment towards Tristan—an enduring trace of the grudge she held deep in her heart.
That grudge seemed to have disappeared the moment she found out that he was not her biological father.
Because all the grievances had been explained and made sense.
