Chapter 1495
The next morning, at the Whites’ residence.
Following the instructions of Milton White, the butler arranged a car to take the little girl to the orphanage and to organize her schooling.
The little girl was thirteen years old, the age to attend junior high school.
However, the little girl stubbornly refused to leave. In the end, the butler had no choice but to disturb Milton White.
Unexpectedly, just as he was leading the little girl to the doorway, he saw one of Milton White’s personal assistants stepping out from inside, his face stern.
"Miss Fry, why have you come so early today?"
Miss Fry glanced at them, her gaze focused on the little girl’s face: "Why did you come here? Go to the orphanage right now. Someone will arrange your schooling in a few days. Follow the arrangements."
With clear and determined eyes, the little girl said to him, "I don’t want to leave, I want to stay with him."
Miss Fry’s face changed; she scrutinized the little girl for a moment then said, "So young, yet so ambitious, aiming to scale heights?"
The little girl’s lips pursed, her gaze equally defiant, "Say what you will, but I refuse to leave. I can stay and work."
"The Whites don’t need a child laborer," Miss Fry said sternly.
Seeing the tense atmosphere, the butler interjected, "Miss Fry, why don’t I take her to see the young master? She refuses to get in the car no matter what, it seems only the young master can persuade her."
"No need. Mr. Carson is in a bad mood right now. Anyone who disturbs him is asking for trouble."
The butler turned pale at these words, evidently having learned his lesson in the past, and he turned to the little girl, "Let’s go. Don’t think too much about it. Young master has already taken such good care of you, what more do you want?"
The girl’s eyes widened, her determination morphing into stubbornness, "Why is he in a bad mood?"
Miss Fry’s brow furrowed even deeper, wondering about the girl’s focus.
"That’s none of your business," she said, then took a guard-like stance in the doorstep.
Suddenly, the two of them felt a gust of wind that caused them to involuntarily close their eyes. When they opened them, the little girl was nowhere to be seen.
"Ah?! Where is she?!" The butler exclaimed in shock.
The assistant less surprised, apparently having experienced the girl’s abilities before, immediately headed towards the house.
As he entered, he saw the little girl nimbly climbing onto the eaves, then directly entering through the window, bypassing the stairs entirely!
"She’s bold!"
Rushing up the stairs, he didn’t even knock and stormed straight into Milton White’s bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, all was quiet.
A man with an elegant demeanor was quietly reading a book. The little girl sat obediently by the window, like a faithful little dog guarding its master.
The assistant, catching his breath, immediately bowed and apologized upon seeing Milton White, "I apologize, Mr. Carson, it’s my fault. I failed to stop her!"
Milton White’s face was calm, his side profile at peace. His composed gaze was fixed on a book about fragrances. A small label was stuck to the bottom right corner of the book, with the owner’s name written on it: Only for Eleven.
A few seconds later, he saw the man’s book-flipping hand make a slight movement, and he immediately understood. He glanced at the little girl one last time and reluctantly exited the room.
As the assistant left, the little girl’s watchful gaze also disappeared. She relaxed her whole body, sat quietly hugging her knees, and silently fixed her gaze on Milton White’s face, careful not to disturb him.
