Alexander Foster put on his clothes before picking her up.

"Why is Dawn crying?"

"I want to find Mommy." She wiped away her tears, her tiny hand clutching Alex’s clothes, her eyes still full of confusion.

Chloe Collins had already climbed down from the bed and walked over to do something, but she didn’t know what to do.

Alex chuckled, "How about letting Auntie be your mommy for the night, is that okay?"

Glutinous Rice Ball: "A little okay."

Chloe: "She still misses Fishie."

"It’s normal for children to miss their parents. Just comfort her a bit, and it’ll be okay." He said softly, then carried the little girl out of the room.

Chloe, looking puzzled, followed him.

The three of them went downstairs and arrived in the playroom next door.

The room full of toys finally did its job, easily distracting the toddler’s attention.

She voluntarily let go of Alex and jumped into the ball pit.

Chloe let out a sigh of relief, then turned to him and said: "Surprisingly, since when have you learned to placate children?"

She remembered him struggling with children in the past.

He just laughed, took her hand, and gently said: "Quite easy, just treat her like you."

"Like me?"

Chloe glanced at the girl and imagined it for a moment.

She felt a somewhat sour feeling in her heart.

"Uncle, look at me!"

The little girl tried to climb up the slide, eager to have Alex see her slide down.

Alex’s eyes softened, and he praised softly, "Great job."

The little girl laughed, and tears no longer filled her eyes.

Chloe felt that slightly sour feeling returning.

After a while, the adorable little girl, tired from playing, ran to Alex and raised her head: "Uncle, let’s play on the carousel."

Chloe quickly crouched down and gently said: "Dawn, Auntie will play with you."

The little girl shook her head, her hand still clutching Alex’s clothes.

Alex crouched down too and asked her: "You don’t like Auntie?"

The little girl shook her head again.

Feeling a bit shy, she peeked at Chloe, then hid her face behind Alex’s arm, but soon, she peeked out at Chloe again.

He turned his head and whispered in her ear: "She’s not too familiar with you yet, she’s shy."

Chloe was surprised: "Really?"

Could a child feel shy around her?

Alex lowered his head and asked the little girl: "Isn’t Auntie beautiful?"

The little girl nodded earnestly.

"Then, do you want to play with Auntie?"

She didn’t respond, hiding behind his arm once more.

Upon seeing this, Chloe took the initiative to attract the child: "Auntie can do magic, want to watch?"

The little girl blinked her eyes without saying a word. But her eyes were already beaming with anticipation: "Magic?"

Chloe waved her hand and instantly, a small ball flew up, gently spinning in the air.

The little girl was thrilled. She instantly let go of Alex and ran underneath the ball.

With a slight move of Chloe’s finger, many toy balls could be made to fly around and "dance", completely distracting the little girl from missing her mother.

The room was filled with laughter.

After a while, Chloe asked if she wanted to play on the carousel.

The little girl looked at her, then nodded. She put out her little hand, took Chloe’s, and together they went towards the carousel.

Even though it was late, the child was full of energy. After playing for half an hour, she didn’t seem tired at all.

Chloe was yawning continuously.

Finally, Evelyn Thompson heard the noise and hurried over to take the child away, asking the couple to go rest.

Back in the warmth of their big bed, Chloe snuggled up against the man next to her and closed her eyes comfortably.

In the silence, the man whispered: "Were you jealous earlier?"
