Chapter 1390
Master was shocked, "Are you saying that all the disturbances in the news are because of this plan?"
"Exactly, those people are their experiment subjects. After taking the drugs, their bodies have seriously mutated, which led to the rumors about zombies. In reality, these people were just seeking help, but due to their terrifying appearance, as soon as they appeared, they were treated like monsters and attacked. They could only fight back to defend themselves, which in turn only confirmed their rebellious image, and thus the so-called disturbances were created. Now, the authorities have dispatched personnel to suppress them, the New Human Project can’t be concealed for much longer."
Master’s body shivered as he listened to Alexander Foster’s words.
Only now did he truly realize, he had been played by the Alliance for all these years.
His position as Elder was merely a ceremonial title!
Alex’s departure at this crucial point was a wise decision, which not only clarified his position but also dissociated him from the situation.
If he delayed any longer, it might be too late.
If Alex hadn’t discovered in time, he might have been framed by the Alliance, dumped with all the blames, and made a scapegoat.
Thinking of these possibilities, a chill went through Master.
Alexander paused to gather his emotions, "Grandpa, let me handle all this. You don’t need to worry."
Master lowered his eyes, closed them briefly, and said, "I didn’t expect it to turn out this way..."
"Humans are unpredictable." Alex sighed.
"How’s Mane? Have we figured everything out?" He suddenly asked.
There was a flicker in Alex’s eyes as he replied, "She was rescued and is still unconscious. Unless she identifies the perpetrator herself, the case can’t be solved."
Master fell silent again.
He was tired.
After a while, he stood up, "Come with me to the cemetery, let’s visit your aunt."
Alex nodded.
The cemetery in the outskirts was filled with a mournful atmosphere.
As Alex was supporting Master into the cemetery, he overheard a conversation between two gravediggers at the doorway.
"I saw it very clearly. I wanted to call the police, but didn’t when I recognized him. It was indeed Tristan Collins!"
"Tristan Collins? The husband of the grave’s owner?"
"Yes! It gave me the creeps. Who would dig graves in the middle of the night? People don’t even do that in broad daylight!"
"Ah, he must be under a lot of pressure after divorcing his second wife and that’s why he would do something like this. What happened next?"
"He opened the coffin and took a glance, then closed it. He gave me some money and asked me to fill the grave back up."
"Ah? Could it be that their family buried something valuable with the deceased and he wanted to retrieve it?"
"How would I know? I didn’t take a look inside the coffin. This whole thing is too mysterious."
Alex unconsciously looked towards Joy Taylor’s grave, which looked very different and new.
Master frowned, "Has Tristan gone mad? Digging graves?"
He shook his head in silence and sighed.
Alex thought for a while but said nothing. He guided Master towards Emma Foster’s grave.

Mane York had already awakened. The first person she saw was Chloe Collins.
There was no one else in the hospital ward, Chloe was quietly sitting next to her peeling fruits.
"Why is it you..." Mane’s voice was still very weak, her eyes filled with a soft vulnerability.
Chloe looked up, her eyes meeting Mane’s, "I want to ask you about the series of events."
A look of fear crossed Mane’s face, "Where are the others?"
"Outside."
Mane fell silent.
After a while, she finally spoke, "It was your robot, Eight-01!"
Chloe’s fingers tightened.
"Why did you have the red string in your hand?"
