Chapter 1388: Chapter 1388: Eleven, Your Mom is Not Dead_1
Chapter 1388
Milton White shook his head: "It wasn’t me."
"It was him."
He also shook his head.
Chloe Collins felt dizzy and overwhelmed, her body and spirit were hit hard. She clenched her hands until her knuckles turned white.
Milton White said, "I am just the successor. The true initiators of the New Human Project were the previous generation of the Alliance, the Council of Elders. They view this as their greatest plan, and Alex and I are just the successors they have trained.
Alex probably doesn’t know about this yet. The Council of Elders doesn’t actually like him much. He is too stubborn and principled, difficult to control. As for me, I originally didn’t know either. It was my other self who actively investigated it."
He looked at Chloe Collins, "Eleven, I am against this project, but I can’t resist it alone. If you could leave Alexander Foster and return to my side, to face it with me..."
"I will not agree to that." She said without hesitation, gazing at him, very distressed, yet sincere, "I’ve always treated you like a real brother, without a sliver of overstepping feelings."
"Please, do not force me."
Milton White’s face contorted in a mix of pain and despair.
Chloe Collins took two steps forward, trying to reach out and pull him, "Senior, let me take you for treatment, don’t continue like this!"
"Silly Eleven, this isn’t a game, it can’t be stopped, it’s not something I can decide."
He looked at her, "Come with me. I will take you to a place. It’s a very nice place where you can live the life you want and see the people you miss. When everything here is over, I will bring you back."
She hesitated, the answer was clear, but it was difficult to articulate.
The phone rang at that moment.
Blocking her response, and Milton White’s words.
She looked at the flashing words on the screen and answered the call.
"I’m at the doorstep of the Whites’."
It was Alexander Foster’s voice.
She was taken aback, "How did you know I was here?"
"I’m waiting for you." He said.
Chloe Collins choked up and glanced at Milton White.
A few seconds later, she said, "I will be out soon."
Milton White half-closed his eyes as if to block out all the light of the world.
"I’m leaving." She left a soft whisper, followed by the sound of footsteps.
Milton White watched her retreating figure. A self-deprecating smile spilled from his lips.
He said something, choking on his words. He couldn’t make a sound, but you could guess what he was trying to say from his lips.
"Eleven, your mom isn’t dead. I wanted to take you to see her..."
His answer was still silence.
He knelt down, clutching his head in his hands, deeply lost in thought.
Then came a phone call.
"Young Master White, Alexander Foster has found us. He knows everything and has fallen out with the people from the Alliance."
Instantly, a pair of phoenix eyes stirred up a storm of chilling fury.
A cracking sound echoed in the air as the photographs in the exhibition room shattered and fell.
-
Chloe Collins left the Whites’, looking desolate and lonely, as if she had just experienced a defeat in battle.
Her legs felt weak, and just as she was trying to squat down, a hand supported her.
Alexander Foster was by her side, holding her gently.
Chloe Collins looked up at him: "Did you know about all this beforehand? You did, didn’t you?"
He hesitated, then said, "Manie’s matter, was beyond my expectations."
"What about the other things? Did you know about the things he has been plotting all along?"
Alexander Foster saw the redness in her eyes - a symbol of a broken heart.
He felt heartbroken.
